I did minimal searching to see if there was a thread on this already...and i didnt find anything so i felt Claymore is good enough imo to have its own thread.:wgrin:

Anyway I only just recently started reading the manga a few days ago...and now im currently about to start reading volume 9. My roommate is the one who got me to start reading Claymore thursday and now ive been hooked on this shit since.

I havent watched the anime yet (mainly because every episode I dl is ita, spa or fre subs:sweat:) but if its anything like the manga i sure id like it.

-on another note does anybody know who subs claymore?

So far my favorite claymore the ive seen is the current #6 Phantom Miria. Anybody else wanna share their thoughts (positive) on claymore?

ironically, I just got the OP song as I saw this thread. it's pretty good IMO, but they can eliminate Raki with the quickness. His damn whiny, worthless ass reminds me of exactly WHY you don't pair up kids with adults/monsters/large ass robots from other planets/etc in cartoons. The old G.I.Joe cartoons never had this problem. other than that this show is indeed the good stuff. I almost missed it but a friend put me on the right track with it and I've stayed there ever since.

I read chapter 1 of Claymore a few weeks ago while I was on break. That is some good stuff. I'll be picking up the manga vols. eventually and hoping that the anime gets a good dub.

BTW, why is it that the few ex-male Claymores that are important to the plot look so much cooler in Awakened Form? You have Pris who looks like the total weak sauce version of Aya's "Liberation" in Parasite Eve, then on the flip side you get Isley, who looks like a 20 foot tall fucking armored centaur. Seriously WTF. On that note, I seriously need Clare to not have to rely on Yoki to beast later down the road. Well of course, we had to have some way for her to get offed, so Clare can have a reason for becoming a Claymore. If she was the old asshole version we wouldn't even be discussing it. But she still had that n00b on the ropes, and that's the BS thing about it. Even AFTER Pris went all Gohan with the "hidden potential", she still got punked out by Teresa. Furthermore, Teresa was effortlessly blocking the Flash Sword executed at damn near light speed WITHOUT using Yoki, yet suddenly she stood there like a deer in the headlights as Pris unleashed so much Yoki she'd have seen it coming five hundred miles away with her special ability. Pris simply jumped over into the realm of Naruto and activated the "Plot no Jutsu" to pull that out.

The cool thing is with claymores like Teresa is the more power you use, the more predictable you are. Teresa read Pris's yoma power, so releasing more put her further in the hole. That being said, it's hard to believe that Teresa got offed. The only explanation I can think of is Clare sometimes gets overwhelmed by too much yoki and can't read her opponents properly, so perhaps this happened to Teresa.

EDIT: They always become awakened ones, which are just stronger yoma with bigger appetites. Usually your rank as a claymore determines how strong you are as an awakened.

On the subject of the Abyssal Ones, I've always imagined that Isley has some sort of contingency plan regarding Pris and what to do if she gets out of line with his ideals. He just seems like the kind of guy who goes into a knife fight with a knife, a gun, some C4 planted at all the doors and windows and sniper support. Still, we'll have to wait and see. And Stabby, Isley and Ligardes' Awakened forms DO own all the others looks wise, at least IMO. That BS we see Clare, Luciela, Pris and Jean do is wack, Riful's awakened form is like the only one out of the female cast I like. I want some crazy, FF summon looking shit if we're gonna get all these monster fights with Half Awakeneds and Abyssals and their cronies. Sorry, I still think Isley looks stupid. I've never been able to appreciate centaurs, so that is probably a personal thing. Some of the male awakened ones they fought had cools designs, IMO, but no one comes to mind.

If she is as strong as all that (a combination of two or three abyssal ones only having a chance of taking her down), then I think he just joined her because he didn't want to get fucked up all by himself.

Anyway Ep. 15 felt a bit slow, but from the looks of it you can pretty much get away with anything if you have Yoma power :P.

Some people have speculated that the defect was something that Teresa specifically had as opposed to Claymores in general. After seeing Jeane's completely exposed waist and hips (when Duff knocks her down after the first drill attempt) I'm inclined to agree. And it can't be anything on the back, since we've seen Clare's bare back numerous times (wow, tasteful, appropriate nudity, in an anime?! Too bad Yagi goes and effs that up with Miata...).

No, his name is really Raki, it's not mispronunciation. IMO, this is probably the best one of the best parts right now from what I've seen compared to the manga. There's probably a couple more memorable moments coming up, but this part sticks out the most in my mind.

Now if only a Claymore MMO wouldn't make my brain explode thinking of all the things you'd actually need to make it work with having 2 completely different factions pitted against each other. *Drools about fictitious game*

I hope your prediction is wrong but it seems possible. If Clare became a Claymore why not Raki. After Clare dies, Raki finds a young companion and the cycle repeats.

Yeah, but they quit with Male Claymores because they become Awakened Beings much more easily than Female Claymores so the chance of Raki becoming a Claymore is quite slim. No, I see an even worst future for Raki than becoming a Claymore, but that's because I cheat so I won't ruin it for anybody not reading the manga XD.

P.S. if you can, hold off from reading the manga, though you can still enjoy the anime just as much, the anticipation is much higher if you just wait, it's really worth it because they don't cut out anything from the manga. It's more or less panel for panel including all dialogue.

I started watching the anime and it's some good shit. Usually action animes as paced too slow for me but Claymore holds nothing back. I love Claymore, the fighting is on point, it doesn't overuse flash backs and there's no stupid interior monologue crap. They are probably altering the story so they can wrap everything up neatly at the end. If you think about it, the way the Pieta arc concludes in the manga isn't really suitable for television, i.e. not enough closure for most people (lol Berserk whiners), and the last episodes would have no Clare or any of the other Pieta Claymores.

Personally, I don't mind if they deviate from the manga for this purpose, even though I think the original "open-ended" conclusion really suits Claymore. What I don't like, however, is HOW they are going about this. Seriously, fuck Raki.

So instead of Jean returning her to normal as in the manga, Raki will do it instead, so Raki will be the one to die. I think we can all be happy about that... yep. Which also means Jean will live. Ok here's what I think. After having defeated Rigardo, Clare is over her limit and can't change back. So instead of Jean returning her to normal as in the manga, Raki will do it instead, so Raki will be the one to die. I think we can all be happy about that... yep. Which also means Jean will live. YAY! :party:

That is the best alternate ending EVER.
