This may sound a little weird e8giht but I don't know what meaty attacks are lol. I do know that you were so close to me on wake up I knew I could throw you off reaction to your move or if I had sa1 I would have used it on wake up instead of throwing. Space yourself a little more instead of rushing so much when I am down because I could have done a number of things to you as you're dashing into me.

Lagabuse I remember you as trijump now. Yeah dude we've always had bad connections or at least it felt that way on my side, and I would tend to lose my timing so bad I have to go into training mode just to get it back after our games like I did today. Today our connection felt very slow with spikes freezing the screen and during that it is very hard for me to space myself the way I want and use my gj at the right time. It's easier for me to use Ken in those conditions and that's why I picked him (even though I didn't want to) after losing enough times to give up on Yun. I might go on again tonight so incase I see you online this time let's play under your host, it could be better than mine.

However, this is what a meaty attack is: Let's say Ryu's close s.mk has 5 active frames where it can hit (JUST A RANDOM NUMBER, NOT ACCURATE). On your opponents knockdown, you get right on top of him, and you throw out close s.mk so that the active hitting frames are up on the exact frame that the opponent is getting up. Pretending parrying is out of the question here, they have to block or throw out something with invincibility frames to beat it. A perfectly timed meaty (using a choice normal, that is...) can't be thrown out of, so people who throw on wakeup will get stuffed and possibly hit-confirmed into super.

hey all, new poster here. I was to visit this site by sf and pros on xbox live (he plays a great urien and ryu!) and also by WhoWeAre! Been playing 3rd strike offline for quite some time, but have only recently started playing on xbox live! I think your best chars are Hugo and Ryu. have you been checking out some vids by YSB? the mind games you had going on with hugo were very effective. i think you need to space/poke a bit more with ken though man. and try to confirm from medium punch in close quarters (time it well to avoid low parry), as well as light kick after crossups (try to use unexpectedly). just mix it up with the throws and dash backs for spacing (which will lead to even more stuff you can experiment with. check out some matches by Deshiken, Spellmaster, Keeper, and even Daigo man). nice work man. good makoto too btw. GGs again and hope to play you more again!


Oh yeah, the connection looked really good too, no lag spikes at all. I could really enjoy those matches. I tell you what man, next time i'll host the game to see if it can be EVEN BETTER than it was today. it's scary, it almost felt like offline most of the time.

I can't remember your character selection aside from shotos but a handful of EX moves and almost any reversal super can punish it. I think Ken can c.mk and hit him before he recovers.

Yeah GGS man. but seriously, i'm a scrub as well just like yourself dude. i just try to emulate the top playes with one or two bits of my own. i think you have a very solid poke game, and a sick ass defense, but if you were to ask my opinion, i think you need to attack a bit more man. your urien looks a little rough around the edges (look who's talking, lol. I'm probably the worst urien on Live), but if you can get the unblockables, and charge partitions down dude, you will be well on your way. just look up some vids of RX or Pierre in action on Youtube. Your Ken needs a bit more work than urien i think (like hit confirming), but he is on the path to becoming a real threat as well. just more practice man, and you WILL get there. i can guarantee it.

Good games to Mash Throw. Good all around playing. I'd like to play him again and be a little more aware of what's going on. Been up for 38 hours or so. Kept getting my ass trashed by Ken....I felt like I didn't know what the fuck I was doing...hell I was playing like it too.

Also, has anyone been having TERRIBLE problems with XBL since the update today? I created a match and sent an invite to Qugstav. so he joined my game, and the screen turned black! Some message came up talking about "unable to connect to Xbox Live" or something, and I couldn;t even sign out! It just refused to go away. In addition to that, the status of the players on my friends list updates at an EXTREMELY slow pace. for example: Tee2Win. I was waiting for him for a long time for a game, since XBL said he was playing in Anniversary Collection (presumably 3s, not SF2), but it also said he was "Joinable". so I attempt to join, and the box just reads "searching". Also the lag seems to have gotten worse, and everyone's connection stays on "checking" and refuses to actually show me what type of connection it is!


I just need to know if anyone else got this? Also Qugstav, did you get a black screen as well after the game loaded?

I deff need to look into getting a converter for my PC so that i can go back to playing on Mame. XBL sucks horribly and seems to be getting worse every day.
