Also I have gained the reputation as being a dropper . I'll admit a few of my drops were out of frustration and to those people I apologize. But for the others i will not. I'm speaking about the players who in both SF2 and Sf3 just stay in the corner hitting the light punch button all day. Play the freaking game ! You don't deserve wins playing like that. The guy has dropped on me as well (super zutsuki). it was a little while ago, so i didn't think to say anything about it. Also coupled with the fact that his play isn't completely full of spamming and lag abusing, I didn't really have much of a problem with him. he also leaves our sets after like 1 game even when the connection is good, and then has the nerve to come here and accuse someone of using a programmable controller, lol. dude is a rank player, make no mistake about it.

I drop quite a lot these days and I make no apologies. I try to play the most sensible, lag free strategy I'm able and it frustrates me no end to lose against weaker opposition, due to an unfair connection, lag abuse or an excessive amount of gambling - especially if it's motivated by the pursuit of an utterly worthless online ranking.

If you dropped in retaliation then fair do's man :tup:. It's only a game. Just understand that some of the things you do are difficult to deal with over Live and that can be frustrating. When I run into an adversary on Live who utterly outplays me legitimately, I will stick around (and lose) all day. That's why my ratio is so shockingly bad :lol:

Someone used Akuma last night, had some amazing skill with but, i quit because it became slightly annoyying that everytime you did Hard Kick Hurricane, i would duck it, but the last hit of the hurricane, it would hit the back of my head. DevilJin is one of the best players on Live. He's not likely to sit around chucking fireballs.

If you run into a lot of players doing the fireball thing, there are plenty of strategies you can use to turn the tables - especially if they get predictable with it;

Alex - Stomp, EX stomp, Full screen Stungun headbutt. Flash chop the fireballs :lol:
Akuma - Super Art 1 through the fireballs. Shakunetsu Hadoken xx raging demon for style points.
Chun - You can perform a massive full screen jump in if you triangle jump off the wall really early. You can also super art 2 through the fireball.
Dudley - Ducking? I don't play Dudley. He's a lemon.
Gill - Kneed drop or Seraph wing that shit :lmao:
Hugo - Clap destroys fireballs. You can SA3 through them too.
Ibuki - slide, that wierd grapple shit or just lab abuse in general :D
Ken - Super jump EX Hurricane. EX Hadoken. EX hadoken xx SA3 for style points.
Makoto - Free SA2. This will definitely make them think twice about throwing careless fireballs.
Necro - You can SA3 under the fireball! Woo.
Oro - EX Chicken kick. This is really annoying. Payback! Dash under fireballs for style points :)
Q - Taunt. Ha ha ha. You can also SA1 through fireballs.
Remy - EX LoV. SA1
Ryu - SA1 or EX Hadoken through their fireball.
Sean - Pink Sean should just turn invisible and use his 100% laser attack, otherwise EX banana kick. Roll for bonus points.
Twelve - Walk under. SA1 under. Instant EX air dive. Instant air SA2. EX Needle.
Urien - EX Knee. For style points, wait till they're really low on health then drop a reflector right in front of them - own goal ...and the crowd goes wild!!! \o/ \o/ \o/
Yang - Roll kick or roll super. Teleport. Does that palm jobbie destroy fireballs?
Yun - Activate Genei Jin then just stand and stare at them from a full screen away. Devastating!

In general though, just don't allow them to play their game. Build meter, block, or jump. Parry a few just to let them know they're wasting their time fishing for easy hits. When you need to advance, neutral jump fireballs vertically, where possible. You don't want to jump into an anti air attack! Once you get within a certain range it becomes dangerous for them to throw more fireballs and more sensible to wait for an anti-air opportunity. They may well get twitchy and whiff a Shoryuken completely. Once you're at a range where you're forcing them to guess, you've pretty much leveled the playing field. Just don't get predictable with jump-ins from this range. They'll be looking to score an easy knock down and run away again.

I have to agree. Daze is good with Ibuki, but I've only played him in a laggy connection, where a lot of things can go unpunished. He has a pretty nice pressure game, but he tends to do that EX kick on wakeup a lot with her more than he really should.

Plus, I really don't like his Ken. I saw him do an EX Tatsu fullscreen on ground game with Ken on me, a srk after whiffed Shippu (to be fair, he may not know it's lag abusive, though), and an EX Shoryuken on his wakeup more than once and could only go :confused: (those things stick with you, trust me). I think it's unsafe practices like that that really hinder his game, and if he can only do things like that less, the improvements in his gameplay will shine through. I don't know what his hit confirmation is like to be honest, or who his best chars are, but from my experience playing Daze, I'd say he can't go wrong with his Ibuki. The Ken may need some more work, something he can really only achieve by playing the big boys on here in fair bouts (that means having the courtesy not to carry on in a laggy connection) such as Yourself and Harmonaz for Ken, and JibBo for his Ibuki.

Well I don't drop until I'm defeated and one of the 3 reasons I mentioned occurs , I've won laggy games before and I've been dropped on myself at the end of laggy contests and wasn't suprsised or angry in the least. If it was one of the other two reasons I have given for dropping you my friend are the asshole. If your a taunter or if you hide in the corner the whole match like a little coward I will drop right as the match ends in my opponents favor because I cannot reward players who play/act like that. I then mute the players voice and I'll never play them again. I'm not even gonna waste my time.

I was impressed with Daze's execution. I'll say that much, but I've only ever played him in a really shitty connection and it looks as though he's missing some important strategy. He was jumping in all the time against my Urien for example and rather than waiting for mistakes and exploiting them, he attacked relentlessly. I don't really rate that on Live. The more you attack when you're opponent is in neutral state, the more often you can be parried ...offline at least.

Anyway, all I wanted to say was this; There's nothing inherently bad about wakeup EX Shoryuken, provided you aren't predictable with it and you bear in mind that wakeup attacks are far more likely to be stuffed offline, where the proper timing is feasible. Like I've always said, using it well is about understanding exactly the sort of risk you're taking.

It's perfectly safe if the opponent pressuring on your wake-up mistimes something. Ken's :l: + :mk: is the perfect example. You can see it coming and EX Shoryuken is the perfect punishment.

It's most effective if used when your opponent has no meter. This way their options to retaliate when you whiff, are more limited and the trade off isn't so slanted in their favour.

In general though, wakeup attacks of any kind are your wild card. They're a way of saying "I understand that the wake-up situation strongly favours the player who is standing and by attacking I'm taking a risk, but I'm not going to let you fish for confirms all day unchallenged. Oh no, I'm going to make you second guess yourself! I'm gonna make you block when you could've attacked, parry when you should've thrown. I'm gonna force you do dash back to safety for no reason. And then, just when you think it's safe to go back into the water ...SHORYUKEN!!!"

If you play a solid Dudley and find yourself in the corner, EX Shoryuken is your best buddy. Dudley's mix-up is so strong in this situation that the risk of whiffing or being parried may well be worth taking, to save yourself damage in the long run. Rage, for example, probably has the best it-confirming ability of anyone I've ever played. If his Dudley gets you in the corner, you're going to eat back to back confirmed supers and specials until he runs out of meter. Dudley can go high (fastest overhead in the game) and low extremely quickly. The odds in this mix-up scenario are stacked against you. He's forcing you to guess on wakeup every time anyhow. Is the EX Shoryu escape that much different to a 50% chance of eating :r: + :hk:, SA1 or :d: + :lp: :d: + :lp: xx SA3 confirms?

I uderstand what you mean at the end, wth regard to the EX Shoryuken, but what I meant was that Daze uses it ALL THE TIME (or at least most of the time) on his wakeup, even when you're not right next to him after a knockdown. I remember a single match I had against his Ibuki where I would just sweep him with my Makoto, WALK (with Makoto, lol) forward a bit, and he would still EX kick into the air even when i wasn't there. The match would be over really quick not because i was being lucky with my 50/50s or what have you, but because I was just punishing so many wakeup attempts.

I figured I'd watch the video since I had nothing to do. Here are some observations:

DarkImmunity's Play

Pros

Your defense was fairly good, blocking, parrying, and stuffing Vic's spam. At least during the first fight, the rest you crumbled. Lag tactics or not, you sank to the level of a random XBL scrub after the first fight.

Cons:

Wake up super, not used to reversal. You should know better than that.
Not keeping cool under pressure of jumping Mk/kick move spam. See it then stuff!
Random tatsumakis, shoryus, sweeps, etc.......


Memorable BS talk from Vic:

"WTF I saw him jab" when he activated the random super. lol
"I know he ain't gonna beat me, I know how he plays now...." Said right after he won a fight with just Cr Mk, dash and grab, and wake up grabs. :rofl:

Please do not misunderstand me, I did not request you toplay those people so you could get a challenge. I am well aware that you have beaten the majority of the SRK community at one point or another, so it does not surprise me that you have beaten the players I mentioned. Just not on video!
