Just to clarify something, killyall has skills and good sportsmanship. The guy played against me in a really laggy set and dropped after HE won. And I guess that's because he didn't want a cheap win so he drops when the lag is unplayable. Which is justified IMO.

On a side note, when I played you there was almost no lag, and everyone else I played was swarming in lag. Anyway, also not to be rude I don't remember too much of our matches since you quit constantly and you were one of only two people who were online at the time with a good connection, I really just wanted to play some non laggy matches. I'm at a real computer for the time being, so I hope that clears it up.

My Roster is, Ken(Very Rusty)--------Ryu, Akuma(Super Rusty), Chun-Li, Alex (Not gonna even try Rusty), Urien, Remy, Yun, Yang, and at the very bottom Hugo.

While I'm too lazy to search for anything, I'll put it here. GG's to you too Kickassguy, it was laggy, but 3s seems to be dead anyway, so I didn't care too much, I stayed as long as I could, and honestly didn't even know it was you, I just wanted to play. I've stayed in games where in the past I would have quit out of in a heart beat, just because there is nothing better. Though now that I know it was you, it's not so bad.

Before I quit again (Or make pop up appearances), I'm looking for tight shoto matches or someone who has a variety of characters, my controller isn't good which leads to fumbled mistakes, but I don't have a choice, so bare with me.

Im trying not to post insults back and forth... I played Konoha x Senpuu and in our match, if that was you since apparently it is,... You picked Hugo, Ken, and Yun. Out of all of those characters the only one that you didnt constantly throw me was Ken.

Everytime Id start lagging youd just throw me over and over again, and to top it off they werent even command throws.

And Ive never once dropped out of a match, I always play the match through no matter how bad the lag is and then I quit the match at the end of. And if youre saying that I quit playing you, well excuse me for not wanting to play in the ridiculous lag.

So when you started doing dumb, random shit (in one instance, you threw out a UOH, which i blocked. I thought you were going to throw me afterwards so i jumped away and you just threw out the super and i got smacked with it) i was pretty surprised cuz it was totally different from how you played before. We had a nice connection the first time we played but it was terrible when we played yesterday. In retrospect, i probably jumped the gun a little bit cuz it might have been just as bad on your side and i guess that could be why you were lettin go of supers randomly. Either way, i don't wanna go back and forth about why you're shitty or why i'm shitty. I'm sure we'll c each other again online and hopefully we'll have a solid connection.

The cause of this misunderstanding is that we're all using the same word to mean two different things.

You could label solid, unpredictable game-play 'random', but I think there are more appropriate words. 'Deceptive', 'unpredictable', 'varied' and 'wily' spring to mind.

For example, it takes a fair amount of mental effort to expose the opponent to repeated setups, and to then change those setups just as you expect them to catch on. Bluffing, anyone? It takes a fair amount of experience to feign a tick throw, so that you can punish their attempts to tech. To bait a wakeup attack, so that you can punish. To jump in empty when you know they're hoping to anti-air parry. To develop a diverse reportoire of patterns, to avoid becoming predictable.

These are examples of good play that you could label random, but I find the dictionary definition of random is much better suited to the bad forms of 'random' play. The word 'random', for me, should have negative connotations in this context;

Random: proceeding, made, or occurring without definite aim, reason, or pattern. Lacking purpose, method, or adherence to a prior arrangement; in a haphazard way.


Bad forms of random game-play differ in that the levels of risk taken, the lack of skill or insight and dependence on blind luck, are completely at odds with solid play. Bad 'random' is gambling a whole meter on a hunch. Play that is, on the balance of probabilities, not in your characters best interest. Stuff that is likely to fail the majority of the time, but often reaps huge rewards on those rare occasions when it works.

Sadly, it's possible (especially online) to do quite well with this kind of play. It only takes one lucky wake-up Shinshoryuken to seal a round. A few long-shot naked hurricanes to claw back the advantage. The difference is that, whilst your opponent is diligently scoring modest damage, repeatedly, in a safe fashion and leaving you few opportunities to punish, you're scoring very few infrequent hits that reap massive damage rewards, by chance.

Maybe this is a legit way to play. Maybe some people can be satisfied with this kind of lazy, mind-numbing trivia, but make no mistake, if you're scoring half of your damage by chance and hoping to hell you don't eat massive punishment the rest of the time, then your game is utterly void of skill. If you consider a blind, gambled super a legit, high level tactic, there is no point striving to improve your play. Give up 3S and take up Bingo.

Ha ha. I can't even begin to imagine how anybody would consider hit confirming random :lol: Parrying is similar in that there is a clear motive and an obvious intent, but I can at least speculate on how a player might parry in a 'random' fashion.

I suppose the acid test would be how many parries you attempt, versus how many are successful. If the ratio is half way decent, more power to you! Keep doing what you're doing. However, if you're mashing down and forward like a man possessed and still only making a slightly better than average number of parries, I see how that could be called 'random' or even 'risky'. I think I should say something about random since everyone thinks I do random things with akuma. Look my style is simiple: throw everything I got at you in the same time block, parry or bait you to make a mistake. If I do random thing like a Hurr kick or a dive kick only because I know a parry or block is coming but if I can chance it and do it again and you get it, that is not random to me. "You just got hit".

Now I do throw out some air fireballs cause there parry eazy but that is what is want you do do, so I can set up something else.

Same here. His Yun is ridiculous in the connection we get. I don't know whether or not the guy is good. He hit confirms reliably, has nice execution off his Genei Jin and appears to know his character well, but the connection puts me utterly out of contention against him. Block stun, plus being able to re-roll any blocked dive kicks is god tier in a cross-continent connection. I have to just sit there like a muppet whilst he divekicks with complete impunity and is able to mix up high, low or throw regardless of how I block or parry. Very frustrating, but like I say, I'm judging the connection here, rather than his play.

Same here. His Yun is ridiculous in the connection we get. I don't know whether or not the guy is good. He hit confirms reliably, has nice execution off his Genei Jin and appears to know his character well, but the connection puts me utterly out of contention against him. Block stun, plus being able to re-roll any blocked dive kicks is god tier in a cross-continent connection. I have to just sit there like a muppet whilst he divekicks with complete impunity and is able to mix up high, low or throw regardless of how I block or parry. Very frustrating, but like I say, I'm judging the connection here, rather than his play.
