View Full Version : Should the Olympic Games always be held on Earth?

Is it a requirement? Do we need to make it one? It would be sort of strange to have a space arena for it.

i stopped watching the olympics when i found out that the gold medals aren't gold at all.

Me thinks the lack of gravity would sort of make most of the games kinda pointless.

If held in space, the lack of gravity would probably make things rough... imagine a pole vault or long jump without gravity.

edit: Me and Az seem to have the same idea... great minds think alike.

the only thing worth watching in the olympics is track & field. the watered down basketball that they play at the olympics makes my head hurt.

Sure it's fun, but compared to the World Cup or College Football, it just doesn't grab me.

i like the gymnastics and diving

and the opening ceremonies are nice.

and since this next one is in beijing i think i will go down with my crew and partake in the festitivites. AZN PRYDE 4 LYFE

So yeah, we can race the Klingons, but would it really be the Olympics? Not really. Still competition, but not the same.

Yeah. That would be good. If we met aliens I know we'd want some of our sports competitions to be 'human only'...if not all of them.
