Louie Swe can and does abuse lag like a bastard sometimes. His Necro is a fucking nightmare over Live, but there is no doubt in my mind that he's a very good player. I typed up that list in 5 minutes so there are doubtlessly other deserving Ken players that should be on there too, but aren't.

Rest assured, he's very hard to beat in a good connection. When we play Ken vs Ken, he's 99% legit. Probably has the best Kara Shoryuken execution of anyone I've ever played.

When he's good, he's very very good. But when he's bad ..I drop on him. He loves it :lovin:

Like give confidence to the top to actually go to tournaments and place, or to the losers, something to aim for.

Last tournament I went to I lost to random scrubbing and so did Dark Hokage :lol: It's incredible how people will try lag tactics offline and if you're not expecting it -it'll own your face =P On the other side of the skill spectrum, there're some people who really know how to play and can be good to practice against.

Kara palms do serious damage though. Unfortunately lag box Live is gonna keep you from being accurate with them to begin with. From there...yeah Yun is a bunch of mind games and building meter for the arpe.

Ken: Wow so many Ken players. I haven't played Hold Dat in a while but I remember him really having a nasty Ken and his latest success in that tourney really shows he is legit now. Other than that... there are many other Ken's that are worthy of mention but I just cant remember them all.
Ibuki: Devil Jin and Yeah Dood when he played. Devil Jin really showed me how much trouble Ibuki can be for shotos. Sick Ibuki (win a tournament please sir!:))

Alot of names listed, specially for the shoto section, i can beat, or is even with me, or just a "tad" bit better. (At least speaking from a good connection). Mala, and Harmonaz, i can say i never got an good connection with, so i can't speak on them two, but this is kinda pointless unless we log on aim, have people go on for Ryus, Akumas, Yuns, ect, as a tournament style, and see who's the best that way. other then that, send ur favorite shoto to me now! i gotta prove my self ;)

I never get a good connection with the east coast people so it's not a real accurate comparision. Like I never get good connections playing rage, 617 and some other people. Miss too much stuff or just out right not playable. Its got to remain a game of skill not who hits the button first in lag.

NOTE: I don't think I've logged enough hours lately, or played enough people to make a competent list, but a few to mention:

Yang: WildKitty. We had a crappy connection, but I could tell he definitely knew what he was doing.

Hugo: Sandybags and Tsumuri (i think he's underrated). Never played SneakyRazor unfortunately (that I remember).

Yeah I'm trying to utilize every option Ryu has since he just doesn't have very many. Meaty F.Fierce is hard to land and a free throw against you if they option select parry on wakeup but if it lands its a free ex shoryuken (does a nice amount of damage too!) or if blocked you can safely follow it up with a mixup (since you have an impressive frame advantage.) Fun move if you can get it to work.

Like something to shoot for even though it is XBox Live, however small the prize, I think it could be fun to aim for.

XEN has a pretty cool idea of having his matches taped and then critiqued. That could be the next step =) Or instead of having judges, people can tape their matches and submit them to judging via youtube or whatever =) That could be cool.

i think everyone who gets mentioned should be put on the list, and if someone disagrees they can challenge that name, and some sort of designated judge can decide whether or not they should be removed. Best is sort of bad because it breeds elitism and is way too subjective, i think it should be GOOD players list, in my opinion. You can leave me out though since i hardly play on xbox live anymore and mine is due to expire.

To assess how good a player is, you need to examine how often they take risks and how severe those risks are. That's an obvious failing in the way some of these nominees play. I'm not going to mention any more names (I feel bad enough about doing that already), but there are nominees who will repeatedly gamble supers, or have a play style that is (to any experienced on and offline player) blatantly built on lag.

Against good competition, you can't afford to take excessive risks. Mistakes will land you in deep trouble and the resulting punishment will be severe.

To recognize a good player, you aren't looking for flair or extended combos, you're looking for the total elimination of risk, whether that's through baiting, parrying into counters, hit confirming or whatever.

I can't count how many accounts on XBL he had, I think it was like 3 or 4, but the connection would always take forever to establish. That wasn't the case when challenging Shikyo. The connection was there 2-3 seconds after I saw his name.

Unless 'Dre' moved, or got a better connection, I can't think of any reason why he would be Shikyo =\ Like I said before, unless he got a LOT better.

also it could be cause of the lag. Getting wins off lag is never something to brag about :) Thats how I use to lose to alot of people. now i just don't care, and either let em win, or decline the challenges also.
