Hi,
I use a Netgear (wired) router and the setup pages over at GGPO.net says I need to open ports on my router/firewall to get the best performance.
Well is that really necessary? I mean I don't use a firewall other than that Windows one which comes with Windows XP and I didn't open a ports in my router and I was still able to go online and play some games. And even at this alpha stage the quality was quite good. Sound okay, not much lag really, etc.
So do people with routers really need to bother with this port-foward business? Have any of you tried this game without opening any new ports? Or am I alone in this?
