no one likes the idea of having this ported over to xbox? Final burn is already ported so this shouldn't be too hard right??

It's not that people dont like it. A couple people have talked about it already in other threads if you've read around. It's just...it's not a very hype idea unless you still have an Xbox and are using a PC for enough things already. If you have a PC connected to the internet in the house you can play this game. That's enough for a ton of people around the world to start getting into this. I dont really do much else on my PC except surf the net and listen to music so it's not like there's much to occupy it with. I have an Xbox as well but it's not modded and I dont really ever plan to mod it.

well there are a lot of people already with modded boxes with cps2 and neogeo emulation already on it so it wouldn't be too hard to get it up and running. Plus if anything it would help the popularity of GGPO increase.
but then again thats just me.

Nope, its not just you. I'd kill to have this going with FBAXXX (or preferably any other emulator that decide to change the names of the romsets from other standards).
Playing on the couch with the stick in lap is tons better than playing at a desk with other windows going.
The only way that's gonna happen is if the source gets opened up. Ponder knows all the reasons why it should be opened, but hasn't yet, and may never.

That's what many people said about the chance at lagless online play with SF.
That's what many people said about the chance of cracking CPS3.
Going to feel dumb when it finally happens, eh?

The decision to do it with GGPO code is Ponder's, and he can make it never happen.
The only way to guarantee it happens is to use a similar technique and implement it yourself. Otherwise, it's a pipe dream that may never happen. He's a smart guy, and is going to try to make as much money off of it as possible; you can't fault him for that.
This world needs more 'Hey, I'm gonna do this myself' people and less 'You should do this for me' people.

If it can be done, the open source community will eventually get it done. This has gone on with all kinds of emulators for xbox, operating systems for xbox, and many other versions of software. To say that Ponder is the only one able to code something like this, would just be ignorant.
In fact, his coding of it, actually makes it a lot easier for the open source community to see what is actually possible.

I don't think he meant that, i think he meant more along the lines of he is one of the few who wasn't lazy to actually code and create from scratch...
But this would be great if it was ported over to xbox because like toodles said you can use it infront of a tv on your couch.
