When I was young I used to spend many hours, days, months playing street fighter on my snes/ps. I hated going to the arcade since I mainly practiced on a controller. Pulling a dp on a joystick is rather annoying to do for me. Anyways, being the console player it was hard to challenge other people, either they played on arcade or they didn't play at all.
Then came all those weird MvC2 and street fighter with parrying that I didn't care to learn. I was sad that my favorite sf series will no longer be played. I switched to Tekken, but I really loved sf alpha series.
Now come present time, and GGPO with SF Alpha 2 is so exciting. It's such a rush when you know you are playing someone good and have the potential to beat them.
There are many tactics and priority moves that I have never seen before. This has been a great learning experience for me, adding many more moves to my repertoire.
So again thanks for bringing back the old school. Now to go find that International Tekken Tournament (summer 2002) winner since I know he plays a little sf.... And if you are that person いつでもいい早くかかってこい!
