Well I was curious if anyone works or knows anything about getting a job at the post office. All I really know is that you need to pay for some type of test.

If you're in California then you need to be filipino and know someone that already works there.

lol, oh man... my mom is like the only non-Filipino person at her post office pretty much. Maybe another black guy, latina woman, a couple of white folks... all the rest Filipino lol.

http://www.postalexamregistration.us/exam-services.htmlHoly Moses, Google failed me. I'll edit my previous post so that no one else is tempted use that site.I've called that number and it seemed so scam-like to me.:xeye: Dang, I was going to go ahead and call it tomorrow but I think I'll just go the nearest post office and just ask someone that works there and see what's up. Thanks for the heads up... dood.

yea i think i called that number once too and yep, seemed like a complete scam. I need to stop trying to find easy money jobs and just go back to school. Although if i worked for the USPS then going to school would be SO much easier.

REGULARS start out at 20 dollars a hour. You won't start out a regular though. You'll be a casual first and they start at 11 dollars an hour and then after 6 months you'll get a raise to about $14 an hour.

Make sure you do good on that test. If you don't you could be a casual for a long time. I know people that have been casuals for 14 years and casuals get no benefits and no retirement. You get a couple more chances at the test just in case you do fuck up, but make sure you do the same or better than the last test because they go by your last test score.

After the casual position you usually turn into a ptf. Depending where you're at you could work up to 60 hours a week if not more. When I was at this one plant they were working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. They don't work like that where I'm at now.

If you're going to get a job at the PO, be prepared for a lot of bullshit and overtime. The regulars are lazy bastards and practically do what they want. The management in horrible most of the time, so learn how to work the system quick so they don't work you to death.

My dad worked there for almost 20 years and hated every bit of it. It's such a mind numbing job and there's a lot of crazy people that work there. So many stories of the craziest shit I've heard while working there. And if you are white male, I heard it's really hard to move up the chain.
