I'll admit, I basically screwed up. It was probably something I did assembling my engine. So now that the car I daily drove is gone, I ask you, General Discussion. What would be your next car, and why?(gas prices, goin fast, gettin gurlz, ditchin that 10 speed?, etc...)
I'll probably end up getting an older subaru legacy, my first love.
my top 3 is
1. is300/altezza - pure sex, huge potential for crazy turbo engine swap, rear wheel drive, did I mention sexy?
2. audi s4 - I wont look like boy-racer, pretty quick, horrible repair prices
3. g35 coupe/skyline - sexy, again, sexier, the sexiest. rwd yada,yada, yada

Prius, Hybrid Camry... anything with a high MPG.
I don't give a damn about the environment, I'm sick of having to fill up and waste all that time. Also sick of paying out the fucking ass for gasoline and supporting the countries we buy it from.

plus the s series of volvo's are nasty! is it just me, or do volvo's have some of the nicest wheel designs out there?

It depends on the type of person and what the vehicle is used for.
For me personally going to college, I plan on packing on what I consider the essentials: PC, Snowboard w/gear, ps2 w/stick and a few games, clothing, and maybe a pillow and some sheets. The rest I can get at the local convenient store. So I just need really a compact car or I could of kept my RX8.
I decided on a Subaru Impreza WRX. It's got AWD(almost a must for the mountains of Colorado), it's compact so I got some room to fit my crap and I will be getting a roof rack for my board. But it looks beastly, if you seen one you would notice the boxy body, hood scoop, and the color is "world rally blue" as the car itself is based off of the World Rally Championships' production model. When the car is turned on it sounds similar to a Porsche because it has the same type of engine geometry with it's pistons that run vertical instead of horizontal, because of that it has a unique sound like a low rumble. Also this baby has a stock Turbo that can be heard as well and especially if you take off the snorkle. Basically it's going to be "top tier" for a college ride compared to the beaten up jeeps and subaru dyke wagons. My ticket for dem snowbunnies muhahahahaha.
Another choice of mine if I were to stay in Texas is probably the Nissan 350Z. I have always been a shy fan of this model since the 300Z. It's a sports car that I could afford a while back and given another chance, it would be twice as hard to not take it.
Finally, my last pick would be a Lexus. Pretty much any late model would be bomb. I've seen so many looking really good, Black on black, nice 17 rims....It's definitely a luxury car I wouldn't mind owning when I graduate school and get a nice career lined up. Or even later down the road.
But I think for pure fun, I'd rather ride a sports bike. But that's totally different.

Car threads don't turn out well on SRK....
but since you asked next car:
IS300. 2002+ 5spd, black on black. I don't want any trouble smogging or trouble from cops.
After that, I'll either keep my 240 or sell it and get a Supra Turbo.
My GF demands a car that seats more than 2 people.
And after owning an RX7.... man, 2 seater cars are USELESS. Unless you have a spare daily driver (I don't) a 2 seater sports car is retarded if you have errands and friends.

Eh, I'm a fan of the Lancer OZ Rally Edition '02. For a 4 cyl that thing has some low-end acceleration that someone could brag about. However, they say it's the competition for the WRX in the rally races and that just won't happen. Subaru is a bit beyond Mitsubishi as far as rally racing is concerned just because they have such a great AWD system.

1. Maybach S600 - This car is so cool to ride in let alone drive. It makes a Bentley, Astin Martin or Rolls Royce look pale in comparison. You can play games in the back, has three tv monitors & even some features like the batmobile (NV avionics hooked up to the dashboard). It only costs $130,000, but for half you can get the S500.
2. Jeep Wrangler - It sometimes has a problem with the suspension, but this car is so cool to drive in off-road. Gas mileage is pretty good as well.
3. Saab - It may not be a great-looking car, but gas mileage is great & its one of the safest cars in the world.

i love car threads. i'll break it up into different categories
cheap and affordable:
07' civic si
why? good bang for the buck, decent power for a 4 banger and the new design looks pretty sleek.
cons: still a civic..not meant to race, but econobox
mazda 3 speed
why? good bang for the buck, pretty good power and doesn't look so bad
cons: handling is kinda funny. not the best looking car in the world
altima
why? did anyone not see the improvements that were made on this car? if we are talking gas efficiency with a kick, this a good car for that.
cons: not a lot of bad things to say about this, other than the style doesn't fit me too much, but all around a damn good car
cars that i can afford that i actually like:
350Z: enough said. driving this car, you can say you are the shit
cons: insurance is a bitch. this car goes through tires like a gold digger goes through men, not to mention tires are bitch expensive. needs more room
first gen model S2K: ninja bike on 4 wheels and having the pleasure of revving up to 9k rpm safely, not to mention it has a classy but yet, not stuck up look like the 350z. gas mileage is pretty good and it looks absolutely sick with the hardtop conversion
con: road noise, needs more room, kinda crampy
Rx8: I have to admit, I never considered the Rx8 as a favorite choice up until I got behind the wheel of one of them. Much to my suprpise, I was IMPRESSED by the performance and handling. I later found myself indulged in countless hours of research to study about the mechanics of the rotory motor. My reason for preference:
Renesis motor. Innovation. Despite the bad rep the FD's had with the constant rebuilding of the motor, not because of the design (well maybe), but the lack of knowledge people have when buying a rotory motor. requires MORE attention than our usual piston motor. solid style, 4-seater, and smooth ride.
cons: supreme unleaded only, piss poor gas mileage, needs a little more attention that most piston engines.
dream cars: Supra (duh)
why? everyone knows
r34: again, duh
GT-R
dream cars are subject to change
I currently own a Z32 and have been pleased with the performance thus far
have you guys seen the concept model for the BMW 135i?

the new charger is just a totally different car with the "charger" name tag for the sake of marketing purpose. the actual car itself doesn't carry that much prestige or power. same goes for the pantiac gto we currently see on the market.
and i personally don't think the '65 charger was that great anyway. only people crazy about it are drag enthusiasts and those who were introduced to it by watching "the fast and the furious".

haven't heard too much about the chargers...but the only dodge i'll ever touch is probably the SRT-4 (looks like shit, but good bang for the buck if you are looking for cheap speed)..granted most owners are dickwads..

really now, if we're talking boring ass straightline drag racing, then yah, i guess i can go either 1 of 2 routes

really now, i grew out of the one dimensional drag racing bullshit....that shit gets boring fast.
i think it all comes down to the style of preference...
how many fucking cars are actually well rounded in EVERYTHING rather than boring ass drag racing?
:lol::rofl:
stepping out of the box, i use to detest new american muscle...but now, i just have a tiny bit of respect for some.
give me american muscle classic over new school trash any day. NOW that's american products made tough!
LMAO
i buy a car for their line, not because of numbers.
btw, i haven't seen you since the old Stargate. do you even play games anymore?
ok... i saw a fully style-modded chevy aveo today.
seriously, why the hell would anybody spend money on a shit car like that?? body kit must have cost almost half the car itself. i personally think style-mod is stupid in general, but doing so on a low budget american car makes even less sense.

Actually it's Korean. (Daewoo)
GM just imports, re-badges, & sells them.
It's still junk tho.

wtf, it's korean?? i never knew.
so it's kind of like how the pontiac vibe is actually the toyota voltz (sister car to the matrix), huh? except that the voltz is actually a decent car i guess.
if you get a PLATINUM COATED SHORTSHIFTER your car will easilly get an extra 30HP because you feel so much more faster!
Woah there, I swapped my car's factory ss with a after market one and the shifts are a lot snappier and makes the car more fun the drive.
And some one mentioned the RX-8 being slow. True, it's not as fast as the previous model, the RX-7, but I used to own one and from the people that I talked to, you can do a few things and it will get up to par with other high performance ricers.
R34 GT-R (legendary import, RB26DETT, awd)
BMW m5 (great blend of power, luxury & functionality)
Datsun 510 (poor man's BMW, solo2 potential)
Vinnyman

Fast? Define fast. Not to dawg on you bro but tell me, are we talking drag racing, street racing, track cars, drifting? I mean seriously, America's way of defining fast is straight line (typical mentality) How many cars are actually fast straightline and can also eat those twisted like a fatboy eats cake?
