Really now? Where does you friend get these overpriced tickets from. I want to get a dozen so I'll have some extra for later. Listen, if you can get tickets to japan for that price, I highly suggest that you do.

If you can't pony up $450 to travel to Japan, I suggest that you don't bother. The prices in Japan will make you cry.

rofl. $450 is too much? Shit...lol. If that's too much, I want to know what "cheap" would be.
On a serious note, though. From the Philippines to Japan, it's only about $300-$500 round trip, depending on the season, but that's cheap as hell. You just need to keep a lot of money for when you actually get to Japan...
Yeah Dood 120%

Because yellow fever> SRK. Akihabara game shops for the nerds, Shibuya and Harajuku for the gawkers/fashion people, japanese comics are 5 bucks per book.
Me personally? Seeing my gf and her family, testing my Super Turbo ability, practicing the language.

If you can buy from the japanese airlines themselves, the tickets are much cheaper. I know a friend of mine flys there for dirt cheap(well all things considerd)just doing that.

Nah, military hops cost about $25. Then you can stay in the hotel on base for like $35 a night. But that's if your military. My friends and I always do that shit. But there are some downsides to taking hops. I had some friends visit me in tokyo for the Tokyo Game Show 06' and I had to tell them what to do the save money. They had booked and expensive flight and hotels. That shit was going to cost them a grip. I think I saved them about 2K in the end.
They were going to stay in shinjuku. I was like, dude, catch a hop from Kadena AB to Yokota AB. Them stay at the Kanto Lodge (also on base) and the train station is a 10 min walk from the base. The train tickets to Miuhara(sp) conventrion center is going to be like $6 and the ride will be about an hour and some change to get there. They were happy as shit once it was all said and done. They were able to do a lot more to because I could drive them around or catch the train. Needless to say they spent all of the money they could have saved:lol:. I wouldn't go to Japan unless I was balling, or knew someone. It's to expensive to just pick up and go. You'd be better off going to Europe. I'm sure you could find a good ticket for about $700 and a nice hotel for about $50 a night.
If you go to japan, it's best you know someone. I'll have 2 friends that are permanent residents out there soon. So they tell me to just drop in whenever. I told them that while I'm there, I'll by groceries and stuff for letting me stay there. You can't just be a leech.

If you can get someone from AMC to send you a schedule, you'll see they have something flying just about everyday. Do you get AFN in Hawaii considering that it's not REALLY overseas? If so, then you should also see the flight scheduels on there to. I still kick myself in the ass to this day for not taking any trips to Hickam. They have a few flights going to Thailand at least 2-3 times a month. I can still catch hops even though I'm in the states. I'm pretty close to La, so I'd just have to drive for 2 hours to make the flights. How much longer do you have in hawaii? Seems like you've been there forever.

We don't get AFN out here... we are OCONUS but then we aren't, when talking about Hawaii and Alaska. I would have taken a mac flight earlier but flight times/dates are always guaranteed. I know they fly to Cali six times a day from Hickam, but the drive from Travis AFB to Oakland isn't worth the trouble since tickets are pretty cheap anyway. I should call up AMC and get a schedule... I would love going to Japan again, staying at the Inn they have on Zama...
I'm staying here permanently, I think. Going back to Oakland, CA from paradise? Fuck that. I've been all over the world for Uncle Sam already, so I'm staying here since Uncle Sam will let me.

lol, when we bought our tickets to get over here, they were almost $3,000 because we left January, so the tickets were still high as shit. Though, the regular tickets would be around $1,500 to $2,000. lol, not to mention, we had to pay an assload of fees because almost all our bags were overweight...rofl. Nothing like paying $10,000 for 3 people to fly to the Philippines...lol.
