For the most part yeah, when they get them on their belly, or on their tit it just looks bad. I think the small cutesy generic stars/looney toon/dolphin designs on the ankle is just dumb too. However, the tribal on the lower back right above the ass....that shit is hot.

He came up with the idea to have the stardust trailing up / around my wrist and connecting to the girl while he was doing it. He does awesome work. I got one while in the military the year before I went to Iraq. I always wanted to get this piece but was always iffy on getting inked. But realizing that I may never come back after the deployment I said fuck it and went for it. It was kind of crazy that night, I was almost done with being on funeral detail and recently turned 21. My buddy who is kind of crazy and was all tatted up egged me on and took me to where he got some of his work done. That night I got wasted at a punk show and I got myself cut on some stage equipment, it was only centimeters away from the fresh tattoo.

This is me on my second time being there. The tattoo was originally not filled in with ink and at first it was acceptable. A couple weeks later after noticing some areas where it needed to be fixed I then decided to fill in the sprocket.

Here is the result. I was told the hands were also used as a emblem for bob marley's record label. But it's sometimes funny when people see my tattoo and hear what they have to say about it. Oh and for any one who is wondering what it means, it's suppose to mean "friends through bmx" as I was and still am heavily into riding. But now that I think about it, it's pretty much all my friends as most of them are loyal and won't fuck any one over.

If you are a bodybuilder, or want to be a bodybuilder, or plan on working out, I suggest you wait until you are at the size you plan on being before getting a tattoo. When skin stretches out too quickly for the tattoo to adjust, you get an ink blob. Not sexy. And once it stretches and does that, the only way to fix it is to get it covered up. Usually have to go 2 times as big, if I am correct.

I have a dove with an olive branch on my left bicep. I'm not religious at all. I got it as a symbol of political peace, and I knew about the story of noah's ark and shit but after I found out that the dove/olive branch was a part of that, it can be interpreted as a harbinger of hope, which is good to have around. Its incomplete in terms of the whole tattoo but as a standalone it is very nice looking.

To complete it:
-A sun above the dove
-A moon when I get married
-A star(s) when I have a kid(s)

The concept comes from "The earth is not complete without the sun, moon and stars- that's the man, woman, and child." Track 1 off of CD1 of Wu-Tang Forever.

My next tattoo will be on my right bicep, and will be a tiger, representing mainly passion and sensuality, which is how I got the nickname "the Tiger." Other things that tigers represent are power and ferocity, beauty and speed, cruelty and wrath. In russian prisons, a tiger signifies an avenger, or "enforcer". Good thing Im not in a russian prison though.

Oh yeah, I'm so afraid of girls with tattoos, and the only reason I'm not getting one is because I can't take how much it would hurt. Plenty people have them and because of such, some businesses are changing policy to not think twice about accepting employees with them(although I wouldn't advise to get them in highly visible places such as neck, lower arms, etc). That's all man. Just trying to shed some light on your thinking, because if that's all you experienced(in this case, all tatted sluts) then you can't help but feel how you feel. But keep in mind, that chick with the tramp stamp and tribals might be a Mother Teresa reincarnate. ;-)

Left bicep. I couldn't decide what name and image I wanted on me. My friends all call me "Fly Mike" and most of my family calls me "Baby Mike". I thought about it and sketched this in an attempt to cover both nicknames. Yea I know it's the Bad Boy logo but I changed the hat cock to the right side and added wings. So in essence it's a "Baby Fly Mike" of sorts.

EDIT- I thought the tatto artist is supposed to do it on a piece of paper THEN apply to your body THEN do the tat. Am I mistaken? 'Cuz that's how it went with me.

If the artist's good enough they can free-hand the drawing right on you then tattoo from that. It actually works better a good amount of the time because when they draw it directly on your body they can account for natural contours and such.

I have a tribal-ish stylized lion head on my upper right arm (for my Hebrew name, Aryeh) and I'll post pics when I can get my hands on a camera. Actually got a pretty good deal for it even though it goes from about my shoulder to a little bit above my elbow, partly because it was done in one sitting. Definitely planning on getting more, I'm just saving up + getting into shape before I do.

It's a lot quicker to draw it straight on, and with good artists there isn't really a difference in quality. I imagine it'd also be harder than you might think to make adjustments to a stencil based on how it looks when applied to someone's body.

I dunno about you guys, or if they do this everywhere, but when I got my first tattoo done, the artist took the design from me and used a lightbox (used for tracing) and traced it onto a piece of paper that had like, rub off ink on it. He placed it to my body and pressed down so the ink from the design just transferred to my body and then basically just traced it.

I thought this was pretty standard procedure actually, but you guys are talking about freehand and shit.

Ah yeah I see whatcha sayin. Theres a chance that it might even be better than tracing if the artist is good enough, if that's the case.

Anyhow when I got mine, they didnt use a backlight or anything. He put a piece of trace paper up to my arm, said, how big do you want it (that is, after we discussed what it was gonna be), spent the next hour drawing, then adhered it to my arm when he was done and it made a purple ink outline of it all. Then he made it all clean lines and shit. It looks pretty bomb and though I trusted his talent, Im still thankful that it was a very carefully done tattoo.. it took longer to plan and draw than it did to actually do, which I thought was interesting

Saint Michael is the patron saint of law enforcement, so my dad had a slight interest in getting a St. Michael-related tattoo. He made it through years and years of the army and years and years as a cop without getting one. So since he's chumpin out, I said fuck it, Im getting it somewhere and I'm putting Dad on it.

In addition to my dove/sun on my left bicep, I've got my left forearm covered with a tiger on top and a tulip with Mom on the bottom. Yeah I got a mom tattoo.
