well angelic... as far as i seen in like the newer vids... i wouldn't worry how to extend combos... but like try to deal some decent damage and then knockdown into supers (for lightning and gier, water) like get knockdown call gier super, lightining super, or bubble super and just being n the aggresive all day... likes really unerving to see konoha in your face.. and not only to fuck you up if you make really dumb decisons (like attacking her when lightining, gier, or water is out) cuse the fact that you can hold lighting and gier super, and also hitting a bubble allows her to do more further damage and setup in the same shit again... it's really disheartning to see... i wish knew the combo though... btw lightning super you can hold... same with gier you can hold and let out at any time the difference is lighting you can hold block or hit and gier goes away if you block or get hit...

Well... thanks to absolutely nobody I figured out that I can't do the 623A -> 6D -> 5A mid screen against Kira with Konoha. You can only launch off the 2C -> 6D -> 5A.

For the rookies don't use Kira as a training dummy for Konoha, you'll think your execution is in the shitter.

You know I had a weird glitch happen facing Mildred as well. When I faced her and she did her super, the super goes into a art portrait of her in the sky launching her beams, then the hit happens. But once only 15% of the art portrait was shown and you could still see your character as well :wow:

I was able to get the doll to hit with the B doll attack after the j.2C a few times in a row, but now I can't get it for shit anymore. Is there a specific timing for it after the j.2C?

the trick is to use j[3]b+c. this makes elfriede perform the 2b slash attack which has practically no startup or recovery. then as youre landing from j[3]b+c (which gives you a j2c) hit 5b to make elfriede perform the 5b slash attack for the midscrn loop. elfriede has long since recovered from the 2b attack allowing you to get in that 5b slash at the last second.

suitcase edit: guess i should mention what the [3] is for.

holding 3 will advance friede foward while performing aerial combos. there is a somewhat more effective and faster way to advance 'her' by performing [3] 5, [3] 5, [3] 5, etc. friede advances faster by sprinting at the beginning of the crawl animation then 'she' will decrease the crawling speed. by holding forward for the initial boost of speed then letting 'her' return to neutral and starting it again, you'll notice that friede will advance much faster than just holding [3] or [6].

I have yet to perfect this technique nor do i know if its exactly necessary to use in loops but it is rather interesting imo.

Between this, work and getting my rank up in T5DR, I'm running on empty, which is why I'm not posting nearly as much as I was. =/ w/e

I'm having trouble landing that first j.C, it always seems to whiff. After the first 5A 5B, should I jump and immediately press B, or wait? I'm not sure whether that half second delay refers to after the j.B or before .

Getting back to this, I am having problems landing the second 5B j.B. It always seems to whiff and when I do hit the 5B, I can't hit the j.B as I am too far out. Any help with this?

I can't for the life of me figure out why Konoha isn't more popular, I took one look at her and was like "thats my character". I don't think the popularity of Saki does anything to help the matter though, as she is an uphill battle for konoha.

Well, Gier was only considered cheap at the beginning because no one really knew ANYTHING about the game. There are ways around it and there are a lot of things that beat it out completely. No Arcana dominates the rest.

I have a lot more appreciation for this game after actually playing it. Watching it, I always thought, "Those combos look easy". But when it came to actually trying to do them, it was a lot harder than it looked. And watching match videos, the things they're doing are a lot crazier than than I used to think. In conclusion: This game is awesome!

A little slower than you think. Don't rush it, keep an even rhythm from the 2a. Are you jumping or high jumping? You only need to normal jump. Other than that it's not that hard, it's just goofy timing. I still mess it up now, although that has everything to do with me not playing this game for the majority of the summer. =x

pretty much you got it down as far as the heart combo.. i wouldn't worry about kira cuse kira has a weird ass hitbox so some combos won't work on here...proll finish the combo earlier.. with saki.. i dunno i never had a problem gettin combos on her....

But in some situations you might not want to add the 236A after the 2C as it might push the opponent too far away to follow up, ESPECIALLY against Kira.

keep in mind her hitbox moves back when you land a hit on her so you have to keep track of the moves that cause the most pushback and you might have to HC6 slightly longer in comparison to the rest of the cast

pick steel arcana and do arcana activate (ABC) do charged 3C on the opponent and cancel into 236ABC, the opponent will get launched into the air while you summon the dragon and then both characters will FREEZE...I tried this with 2 different characters...I wonder if this works in the arcade version... >_>

I'm at crossroads now, I really REALLY like Saki, Mei Fang and Kamui. All these characters have something I like about 'em but I can't choose one over the other :s

Spent the last few hours practicing one combo with Mei Fang - I finally got the timing so I don't think I have to practice it much anymore now. Just need to advance on mid-screen looping. 6B is the best move evar~

Though if I want to unleash the combo fiend in me I'd probably pick Saki instead. I think she has the best looking combos in the game. 5B -> 5C all day every day...

Kamui's combos lack the speed, but her ground work is a lot better I feel. I like her standard looking crap better and I find her fun to use.

Around 8300, seems more consistent but maybe more difficult... I ganked the beginning of this one from a vid, but instead of doing for the dash 5C, IAD, etc... he just jumped back up and did some three-hit air chain into the dragon punch super. I hope he was doing that for some kind of mixup followup or burst bait or whatever, and not because the combo I came up with is inconsistent :/

That is the full loop. You can do it as many times as you have Homing meter. The reason why I told you that alternate setup is because you don't need to use Rocket Launch(623button) to get it going. You can use that Rocket Launch later on to save you a Homing stock for an extra rep. And remember when you're out of stock to finish it with 2B 421button for pressure, as no one likes being right in front of Kira at slight disadvantage. Or if you have a good arcana(since you'll have shitloads of meter by this point just combo into it somehow(usually 5B if you have Rock).

What I do is do it with 5D but wait slightly longer after the hit so it tracks them as they bounce. This is the harder version to start the loop/keep it going but it helps if you have an Arcana with a fucked up 6HC(Rock/Time).

Just got back from the first console AH tourney in my local area. The one major difficulty I found was trying to break through all the clutter that Maori threw out. Does anyone have any recommendations on how Kohona could get in? I was basically left to teleport hoping to pick a spot and pressure my opponent.

I'll see if Hyperhal ever put up the other matches of me vs Ken from last week, not the one where I get destroyed, but the ones where I win or its close.
Konoha's best bet is dashing and homing dashing. I've tried using everything to get in on maori teleporting, countering, traveling underground but nothing works as good as just heading at her SMARTLY. Keep an eye on which sister she has just called out and you'll have an open space to aim for and keep an Eye out for the other sisters while you're moving. You can also aim your homing dash enough with the joystick to dodge one of origami riding sisters without breaking your homing dash if you do it right.

And don't forget konoha has ground and air projectiles of her own
Oh and whatever you do don't let your guard down once you get in on her. Maori has almost as many tricks up her sleeve as konoha and a loop that hurts like hell and starts off of what seems like everything.

I personally don't have much of an offense to this myself, since roman cancelling is hard for some people, or they didn't train their thumb to RC/FRC. I have though, and everyone still wonders how I played pad Johnny. :o

The ones that are using it are learning a different timing for FRCs though, that button macros is a frame late I believe.

Well last night at UP was some good Arcana training. Yea, I know we could've played console but not everyone has a stick yet, and so far I'm like the only one who can actually play on PAD. It was me, Dave, Nas, Nas's friend Randal, and BlackShinobi. We had some fun battles and our knowledge of the game grew a lot more. Also, after playing Saki for like 2 months it gets pretty boring even though she's good, so I'm definitely going to learn Heart and someone else now.

Dave had like: 5 wins
I had: 41 wins

Nas has a GODLIKE FIONA and the best one I've seen playing the game so far. Yes I've seen many Fiona's but playing that man's Fiona is scary. He has that RAW POWER!!!!! I can't forget when he owned me with that dam super after wall tech. OMG I'm never teching on you again! O.O U survived with like 0pixels of life lol! Good stuff though yo.

BlackShinobi's Konoha is truly a REAL NINJA and way better than crummy ol naruto lol! So dam fast and annoying!!! I love the funny trash talk between him and Nas about the knights and the ninjas ROFL! But yea, he's very dangerous and keeps your mind racing. Fear the doggie ninja!

Dave still has the best lilica here so far, as he's the only one who can actually do that loop and cause major damage. But that Kamui of his is OUCH! So much dam damage!!!! I got owned a few rounds by it but with pride lol!

Overall we had some REALLY CLOSE and great matches that day it was so much fun! HYPERHAL NEEDS TO GET SWAP MAGIC AND A STICK! Get that pentagram going bro!

I'm having trouble landing that first j.C, it always seems to whiff. After the first 5A 5B, should I jump and immediately press B, or wait? I'm not sure whether that half second delay refers to after the j.B or before .

Getting back to this, I am having problems landing the second 5B j.B. It always seems to whiff and when I do hit the 5B, I can't hit the j.B as I am too far out. Any help with this?

As for TKing her DP it's really not worth it. You can't combo from it and I think it might be unsafe. But it does work as a crossup. You're probably better off just doing IADs with j.B j.C or j.3C. :p

I caught someone in an air throw when they broke the air combo with Arcana. I tried to pull the same trick basically hitting 8A+D as soon as the animation ended but the throw animation keeps whiffing. Any help would be appreciated.

As for how the game plays,it doesn't feel comparable at all to any game I've played recently(Marvel,Melty,Guilty,SF,CvS included).

The combo system feels really open,moreso than any fighting game I have ever played before,and it'll probably be the same when you play it.Admittedly I knock my enemy sky high in the air alot and then combo them at the very top of the screen(And it gets REALLY high)just for the lulz.

It's not among Guilty Gear levels of technicality from what I have experienced,but the game does have a fair bit of advanced know how.

When I first saw a video of the game,I thought "Man,it's just another fucking loli fighter.Ignore..."Now I'm addicted to it.I keep telling myself that I will play more Guilty Gear,and I end up playing Arcana Heart for most of the day :/

This is sad though...even in my hometown I can't find no place that sells an arcade stick anywhere and I think my old Red Octane arcade stick is going to kick the bucket soon or something like my Pelican stick did.

I just played this game for the first time today. I'm pretty into it, to be honest! I'll probably end up buying a Swap Magic for this game, and ONLY for this game. My favorite character is Heart, and my favorite arcana is Love. I can't remember the name, but yeah, you get it. Umm...I guess the only question I have is this:
The Love Arcana's trademark super, which I have dubbed the "Giant Pink Bubble of Cottony Poof," seems pretty amazing, but it only worked against woof about half the time. Can anyone tell me the practical applications of this attack, if any?

hit them in the air and do it. normal throw or 3[C] (whether they block it or not) will cause them to get hit by it. Plus you can summon it from full screen away and 5[D] at them and try to mix them up into it.

Its good, but its not always gonna work. =P

Has anyone figured out if you can air throw someone as soon as they finish their Arcana animation if they were on the ground? I caught someone in an air throw when they broke the air combo with Arcana. I tried to pull the same trick basically hitting 8A+D as soon as the animation ended but the throw animation keeps whiffing. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you can punish arcana activate with a airthrow if they were already airborne.
This is a common tactic with Kira (not a good idea to burst when she's safe, as she can grab u at most ranges.) Also, for example, if the opponent ried to burst while airborne when you are doing a generic IAD loop (like Saki, or Heart for example) geneally, youll be at the perfect height to throw them (because half the time, you are iading at their sprite when they burst,) so yes you will get the airthrow. Of course there are some thing they can o to escpe the situation, bu generally its very difficult, and depending on where they burst, a airthrow or combo can be fairly guaranteed in certain sitiations off bad bursts.

Furthermore, you cannot input a throw break immediately after you activate. I don't know why, but yeah, I've seen everyone get thrown after a bad burst and I know they're inputting the break.

While we're on the topic of throws, and I know this has been repeated before in the thread, but ill say it again - 4/6A+D throws have a smaller break window than neutral A+D.

Neutral throws, because of the combo followup, reduce damage in the combo by 50% also.

I just found out that if you are planning to use one homing gauge for the combo you better do this one-

But when I do I can still do
5B, 6HC, jA jC, jA,jC 5A,5A, 623A, repeat which is way better damage then splash loop.

Also if i hit with 2B mid screen I think going for SJ jA JC jA, jC 5HC j2C into rocket to w/e.
But I found out that if you chained the 2B this wont work for some reason dunnow :confused:

Saki works with any Arcana, (although Lightening Geir are best) but Earth and Time messes up her combos. Plant and Heart Saki give you different options, but Geir and Lightening allow you to hold your supers, which I love for any character.

Although I don't like doing loops all that much, I wouldn't mind finding out some with Mei-Fang/Dieu Mort.

I got a few combos with this Arcana but nothing big, just revised combos of whats on the wiki (meaning, I added 2 - 3 things to the posted combos using Dieu Mort's abilities).
