Dumb question maybe but I find alot of info is just talked about amongst players whove played since arcade release so new players are missing out on alot of common knowledge (i.e what diff arcanas moves are) But yeah thats not my question. Since Im playing Time Fiona, what is the clean hit move yall talking about and can someone explain it indepth to me? I didnt see info in the wiki and I recall seeing a youtube vid with her and steel just wreck in one hit but now I cant find it.

And while Im at it I saw a good Kira Vid where she does the combo ending in toss and the does the steel multi swords move. Whats the input on that? I tried to make sense of japanese arcana pages but cant

Fiona's clean hit special is a set of rekkas.

You do 236A, 236B, 236C, C (if I'm not mistaken).

236A pushes them up a little, 236B sends them to the wall (where they'll bounce off back to you), and 236C sends you flying upwards to meet them, where you'll do C in an attempt for a clean hit.

I'm probably wrong on that last part. Perhaps it's just 236C and the second C isn't necessary.

Obviously if you land the clean hit, you get a nice chunk of damage from it. If not, you barely do more then a jab D:.

An alternate end to the rekka is to 360A+B. If you nail it you'll take around 70%+ damage, which can more or less win a around for you.

With Steel Arcana you can build meter, boost your offense (increase the damage you do basically) and then do said clean hit super and it's literally instant win for the round even if the guy is at full health.

Yes, any help would be appreciated on the wiki. You don't need extensive knowledge to know what 5A does, so you can just go ahead and fill any blanks for any of the missing normals/specials for the characters that have yet to have any info written down, probably the only sections you might wanna avoid are the strats/combo sections since everyone is still kinda new to the game. Nothing is set in stone, we can always edit the info at a later time if it's incorrect or to add anything that is missing so feel free to contribute whatever on the wiki if you have time.

Im not gonna be part of the 5v5 since umm...im not from NYC or Philly.

And im doing what i can to work on the wiki. Granted i havent updated in a WHILE, but im doing what i can. Im having a hard time with move name translations for the Time Arcana...i guess i might skip that and add everything else. I still don't get how to do the repeated heel drops with Lilica. I can cancel the first heel drop into everything else fine, but not the heel drop. Can someone help me out?

you have to do the slide between heel kicks. Heel Kick links into slide, which links into heel kick, and so on. So do heel kick, 236B 236C 236B 236C etc. until you want to finish it off or homing cancel for more.

That's because it kicks up dirt visually in the game and you don't really "see" it, but 236B IS a slide. Just do it randomly and see for yourself.

Arturo is allowed, I personally would like to play him since he's clearly one of the best in NY besides Ken and Xaq. If he's not on it it'd actually be kind of disheartening. To get better I want to keep playing the best, so why be scared? You can only get better, not worse. Playing Ken got me a lot better, so I'm sure Arturo would also help.

Also maybe it's pointless to point out, but yesterday I was fucking around with jumping, and I tried to super jump foward (ala MB) and of course I got this dinky jump upwards and a tiny bit foward. Then I jumped again in the air (uf), but this time I actually went farther, much farther then the intial jump. I did it a third time (Wind Arcana) and again much farther.

Is there some momentum gained when I jump that way? Or is this just common knowledge shit :looney:?

from what i know...

from 623b midscreen, you need to 6d > 22b. according to what i've read in the mook and strat sites, the timing for 22b is slightly different for each character. i'm at work right now, so i can't give you the exact list but against certain characters you need to input 22b after maori stops moving, while for others you need to input 22b when her bare leg shows right before stopping. you can seem to relaunch all characters with 623b, while for some you can do 623a also (which leads for better combo opportunities it seems).

you can also apparently do 22a while she is still in middle of homing motion but that seems to be much harder to time.

from 623a, you do 6d > 5c (whiff) > 22b. from there, you can either do 623a or 623b depending on character or dash up and do 5a > 5b to start her rising jb > falling jc > 5b juggle. you get 3 or 4 repetitions max before you need to do the 623a again (i think?). i'm not sure in which instances you can get 4 repetitions

poison seems to be guaranteed if you're right next to the wall after 22b hits.

also, if you're close to the wall, 236ab is guaranteed off both 623a and 623b, which will guarantee poison hit when they fall. from there, you can either do 623a or dash in and do the juggle.

the juggle is hard as hell, though... they make it look so easy in the vids. :/

Ok I'm currently learning this game, had it for about 4-5 days, and I have a super scrubtacular Saki. I only learned her to get a handle for the system so I could learn Liesolette(or however u spell it).

Eddie is my main/secondary character in GG, so of course she's the one that appeals to me most.

I have a VERY basic understanding of the loop combo after a couple of hours of practice. I want to put more time into practicing her stuff, but I don't have time to claw through 120+ pages of info to find her simple BnBs(my search fu is very weak). Is there a site similar to dustloop/meltybread that has character specific forums? If not, is there any chance of getting something like that going on here?

So far I'm going to invest into using Poison/lightning instead of gier (who I often use with Saki).

Any saki strats would be appreciated as well, or at least being directed to the posts that contain them.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I think I found a use.

You can link that super from her overhead, but only if it's level 2 or 3.

I guess that's why you have a level 2 super and doesn't really answer why a level 3 is necessary. But hey, guaranteed extra damage can always be useful sometime.

as for her juggle... i don't exactly know what the hell the visual cue is. most sites simply say "5b, rising jb, falling jc, and immediately relaunch with 5b" but it's hard as hell to keep the opponent in correct height. :/

Please don't ask in this thread because everyone's absurdly hype (right now) for this game and are probably going to tell you not to bother with MB, seeing as how there's only 4-5 people thus far that play both AH and MB (myself included).

MB has a growing community that's been around for bit, you can hit up Meltybread.com to check it out.

AH is establishing itself as well, guardcrush.net will eventually house any information you may want of the game, but at this point everyone is new to it, save a handful of folks.

Play both, but don't 'drop one or ask which one is worth your time' as these two games are on the up and up and going to start making a larger presence at tournaments, bet on it. MB was the largest side tournament at Evo World that wasn't already associated with a main game (ie GG / MvC2 teams), I'm sure AH will be doing the same to prove its ground in the fighting game community.

Been doing that, but I just need to get my timing down, especially on Lilli's heel drop loop. I've tried going into the heel drop as soon as I land, but nothing comes out. Does anyone have a general idea of when yo should cancel into the heel drop so that it still combos?

actually, you do need to jump forward when you do maori's juggle. there is no way of getting more than 2 reps unless you do so.

it seems like what's more so important is when you land the jb. from what i can tell, you want the rising jb to hit when maori and your opponent is at a nearly identical height. jc will whiff if the opponent gets pushed too high above maori, and if they're too low you won't have as much time to relaunch.

when i practiced, trying to relaunch with 5b as early as possible worked well. 5b has a generous amount of hit stun, so you will have plenty of time to adjust the jb height every time.

Most videos I see, people do 5B, 623A after the second rep if it's midscreen.. if you use the 22A setup, I think you need to have gdlk timing to continue it otherwise.

Sounds like you're going crazy on your pad/stick. On pad, I use my thumb to tap 9 and then quickly tap 6. Pretty much same concept fo tha stick. My problem lies in attacking out of an airdash in comsos. It's like they change the timing for attacking out of airdashes if you're in a combo.:confused:

You know, I have that same problem as well. Except I can do quick air dashes if my character is facing to the right, but I can't do it well if my character is facing Left. And yes, it does feel easier to do in GGAC, but AH is a little harder for me to do.

Updated the wiki a bit. Finished the Time/Anutpada and Lightning/Bhanri page. (Thanks to whoever added the 3[C]/6[C] info about Time. I forgot about it and then went back to add it earlier today and someone already filled it in, good stuff. I added a note to THAT, but yea...thanks again to whoever)
I updated Lilica's combos and FINALLY added the time combo and some explanations about it. I waited a bit before adding it because i wanted to write out every little possible aspect about that combo that i could figure out. If i wrote it out right away (which essentially is just the first bullet point) then i dont think its as easy to do. Heck, i did it from copying a video...

Next thing on my list is to add damage to each move, but that won't take too long, just a matter of TIME. GET IT!? TIME?!

AFAIK, its just inputting a double jump extremely quick, and only works with Konoha.

About IAD with Saki i press 9 like split second before the move ends and than 66 depends on their height since you need to get them as low as possible to get the advance loops you dont do it as quick as possible but you dealy the actual air 66 kinda hard to explain

damn Guardian, my bad. I let down all the Sootkays Luvahs and let procrastination get the best of me. I've been meaning to update the Liz wiki for the last wk lol.

I will summon all of my strength and get to work on that wiki tonight :tup:. Liz is a very intricate and detailed char so plz be patient with my progress. Also I have very little battle exp so I will not be able to provide any strategy info and although I have vast video knowledge I'd rather not fill the wiki w/ theory fighting. I will at most be able to explain how her specials function and can mention a few bnbs here and there.

Lightning/Poison are imo the best arcana choices for liz. bhan is excellent for beginner and advanced players. dieumort isnt so forgiving though. You need to be an expert (otk) or just plain out of your mind (zar) to attempt using this off the bat.

Post up and I can answer short questions about liz if need be. Also I did a lil bit of work on the poison section :sweat:.

Easiest ways are either Run a tournament + top five are the team, or make someone the captain and they decide all the members however they want. I don't think theres much debate against Arturo being NYC captain, but if someone good isn't present at the tournament to determine who is on the team that would upset some people.

Been trying to crack the midscreen looping. So far, I've only been working on midscreen looping with doll out. I was supposed to check a few more things today but Sabin's OTK vid part 1 is somehow missing in google vid right now :sweat:
BTW, I'm sorta stealing Eddie notation. -c- and -2b- means El will hit 'em with her c and 2b respectively.

Still trying to figure out whether El's position when combo starts is a really big factor, and how to get El into -b- position after 2b+c. I wanted to check if they did the j.a's as fast as possible or they added some delays here and there to buy more time for El to get in range. So far, the only thing I can think of that'd get El into range is tapping 6 multiple times while doing j.a's. You can also use 2aac for better hit confirming, but you're gonna have to hold D after HC for a bit longer.

As for corner looping, 2abc, 236b/c, IAD j.b | 5a(1), j.a(2)2c, -c- | j.c2c, -c- | j.c2c, -c-...
You can HC2 into another 3 j2c's or just finish with a simple dj.2c. Vids show a loop ender where they HC and 214a, rejump into 2c and then set oki. I haven't actually started watching frame by frame on those though.

I think the game is causing a good hype ATM. The game just came out on console and it's peeking alotta people's interests but at the same time, turning alotta people off. Not every game is meant for everyone. To me, the game is just fun in it's own way.

Picking up Konoha. I can almost instant air dash everytime but there seems to be a trick to it that I can't catch onto. I honestly haven't even played with anyone else as most of the other characters don't really appeal to me except for the titty-robot (As she's known), Mei Feng.
