Are you coming to NY before or after the console release? If you're coming before it and you're still buying the board being it with your supergun to NY if you actually feel like carrying a pcb on the plane lol, so you can get smashed in some private sessions. I'm practically coming home right as I'm done with Korea, if not I'll be in town for the holidays again so no one will be in CF when a fucking international celebrity is in town:mad: lol If I'm coming before release then I'll be doing the CF thing, gotta keep Henry happy after you and I practically begged him to get it. lol If after, then it's up to ya'll, I have absolutely no obligations while I'm home unlike you guys. =p And I'll give you some DR lessons too so you can see if you can defeat my J5's superior programming. =p
When the Kira player won with the grab super, I somehow thought the commenter was saying SAOTOME...KANEDA!!! I guess cuz he was beasting with Kira, lol.

Look at my youtube vids(search for user tko910) for my Kira mirror matches to see another 100% loop that pretty much still works in FULL. It IS possible to burst out of it, but I couldn't see it at first. But the only way for you to get hit by it is to fuck up.

Theory Fighter for right now, but he way I'm seeing, you need to rape Kamui first before she can even set this up. Remember that you can play against Time Kamui way differently from Gier Kamui, as she can't turtle the same way.

Just want to apologize for the fact that I'm taking a break off hosting gatherings, I've been doing it a bit too long and I need to put some other things in check and maybe get a bigger apartment before I start having 10+ people at my place every weekend/every other weekend again.

So I'm just getting back home from NYC, and I'm about to go to sleep in about 10 minutes.

So anyways, to give a little bit of what my real post will be in a couple of hours, why couldn't I get XAQ off the sticks in arcana last night? Why me and Nas leveling up together extra fast when nobody else was around? Why did me, Nas, Buri, and Mamation stay until close playing this game? Why did I switch to plant arcana? Why all four of us wander around NYC until 6:30?

Either somebody else'll post it, or you'll get the info when I wake up.

IF guardcrush forums turns into a database completely devoted to AH, would you all pitch in and provide activity for it? this could be something big especially with the arrival of console release just around the corner.
if not then SK will probably KSD you all or some shit

Pretty much, you guys all probably know that the site never goes anywhere with any of the previous decisions made because the communities just never gave a rat's ass about it.

Basically, you guys can help and start something new that can possibly become big (hell look at Dustloop or that Meltybread site) or I shut down the site this year because no one uses it for anything, and after four years of two sites flopping and me wasting money on the place, it would be wise for me to shut down the place considering I am trying to save up to move out and/or want to spend money on better things (booze, women, games, etc.).

Yes, forum activity, not just posts of strats and stuff, but forum activity, since it shows that the site is ALIVE. Besides I'm really lenient on things, and all the premium stuff you get at SRK you get at GC, hell you guys get even larger avatars there.

Right so I went to CF today in an attempt to get some fire back with this game, and it just didn't happen. I can't IAD to the right at all, I spent half an hour and $5 by myself trying to do it and get her BnB down, but I couldn't, and frankly I'm past the point of caring. If I played anyone I was whoring out clash j.A crap and 5C. Ken cut me up, let me bleed all over the floor, then proceeded to mop the same floor with me. It was just ugly.

So yeah, I'm not going to bother with this game again until October, where I can play in my own peace of mind.

dog what the hell... ? how come i can do this IAD bnb combo and you can't? it was my only second day of playing total. i always wonder that. the AH IADS are so much simpler than MB (which is funny cuse i use 6 a+b) and GG.... hyper can attest to this... he saw do the bnb like clockwork...( the reason why i couldn't do it when xaq was there ... was because i decide to use earth.. and figured out i couldn't do the same bnb the way i could with fire...) but yeah..like gg's to hyper and buri for the games... well it was mostly after xaq and co. left... and was mostly me and hyper... man i think did well on my second day of learning the game...

and the ride home was dumb.. didn't get to philly tilll like 9 and stayed in philly cuse i had tekken tourney... but meh... i want to play there all the time now... got that arcana crack..

I don't use A+B to dash in MB, ever. I just tried to IAD to the right for half an hour and nothing came out. I got REALLY frustrated, to the point where I fucking ordered Ken not to play me until I got it down, but it was of no use. I'm just not hype for the game right now and I'd much rather step up my MB game as best I can. That's all there is to it. I put just as much time and devotion into the game at the start, but now I simply don't have it and I don't really care to either. The more I hear about the shit being discovered in this game the less I like it, so it's best I just leave it on the backburner.

And yeah I can't do the BnB, get off my fucking case already about it (not you, but I'm sure other people will chime in). I was never able to do it and I don't give a shit anymore. My execution is pure shit and has always been pure shit. Come Oct 12 I'll try again.

Good luck to you anyway Nas, Fiona is dumb easy to play anyway.

I play at AI since its the only place I know that has AH within a good driving distance!

Thats what I like about AH, its kinda difficult to play and do combos which makes it better against otaku japanophile scrubs who only play it because it reminds them of anime!

nothing special about that vid per se, i just like how theres a "wtf, fucking arcana" moment at 2:40 where heart is iading into the corner then uses homing to HC RIGHT back in front of her outside the corner, cross her up with jb ftw. Sometimes, Arcana... :looney:

those type of mixups are strong expecially then ones where they are hc'ing over yoru head wiggling the joystick, youll never be able to guess which way to block, just gotta get lucky.

btw new youtube vids from ftnr18 and henvoke so check em out...featuring the yoriko which hyperhal was not impressed by (how could you not be impressed by the way he controls space with gier? i dont get it, imo shes really taking advantage of yorikos main tools, shes not really a combo heavy char

haha man i don't mind really... it's more about me helping my game out as much as i can... like i play tekken 5.0 on arcade.. and it's done alot for me... so playing AHF before console gives me a little heads up of what im getting into...

but if you don't feel good about the i won't come ... but best believe i might just show randomly on a weekday out of all days and just pop up and play AHF.. and not even hopping to the DR... but honestly i don't mind at all.. and how do people really get better in fgs.. THEY PLAY BETTER PEOPLE.. and best believe im not going to back down just because some top player is playing ...lol never did it in tekken.. not doing it with AHF..

I actually knew this a while back, because when I first fought Ruu he kept mashing 5b anytime I got close and it was annoying as fuck.

I kept getting hit by it so much tha I asked him how to get away from i. He said in a clash situation HC UP/AWAY. Me and Stone were kicking ourselves ebcause the answer was sooooo obvious but we didnt think to try it...Anyway no I know what you mean by Mario. And BTW I don't know how many times I have to say this but... I read every single one of your posts because they are vry useful. I should go back to the old AH thread and quote how many times I said that seriously, its gotta be over 20 times.

At this rate I'm not gonna do to well in SBO but thanks for the support anyway. I'll just wait until I get to Tokyo to play unless we have another gathering at CF again. anybody see that kaori infinite(as long as they dont have gauge anyway)? its just whip thing into drill move from the top of the screen. It looks like its corner only and the damage scaling nerfs it hard so you end up winning by time over(cough..SFA3..cough)

sounds good since she seemed kinda lacking before.

I also have to wait until oct to play, but my crew seems pretty interested in playing it. i intend on playing kira with the rock arcana, is that a good or bad idea? I saw her doing some mad corner traps with it and it seemed pretty tight.

Ah, thats a buddy of mine, Toretoremon playing the Green blob Kira in that vid. He was one of the few guys i met at Kohatsu who actually TALKED to us foreigners.

Anyways, what he did there was do gier's 236236D which you can hold, but the opponent was scared of whether it would be released right away, and if it was, they would be taking a lot of damage, so he did a throw since they werent going to move because of it. As you can see, he released it about 7 seconds later. That's why gier is so powerful and easily the best arcana.

Konoha has so much going for her, it's not even funny. Some moves just whiff on her, especially when she's crouching. This shouldn't be any surprise though since she is top tier after all. Though, I don't see many videos of people using her anymore. When the game was brand new, there were a ton of Konohas.

The combo I am using for her right now is 2a, 2b, 2c, DPa, HC, 5a, 5b, IAD, j.b, land, j.a, j.b, dj.b, dj. c. I remember seeing a vid that woof posted of her ending a combo with the throw instead, but didn't have time to try.

nah i staying with fiona... but it's like i said before and all that shit.. that i wanted to try heart and kamui before fiona... but then i saw fiona and then bam!!!

i mean i heard that heart didn't suck or anything.. but damn i've seen some recent vids that a) seems like she sucks or b) the player is really playing her wrong or c) i dunno...

and fiona ain't low teir.. having some mad easy combos that just about take almost half life dosen't make her suck..of couse if you use the same stuff over over ( like same block strings) of course people will pounce... but honeslty i don't find low at all though.. 5c is pretty good range and covers her entire air around her... and also having some decent pokes like 5b.. and 5b in the air.. but damn she has those combos man... they don't take as long as let's say a heart or kamui to do some damage.. but man ill find out tommorow... gogo Lang gong fiona!!!

those orbs make liese's doll to do certain actions. Depending on which orb she uses, the doll can teleport or move towards the orb and/or attack at the orb's location

EDIT: and the orbs are only useful when the doll is outside the suitcase

Fiona is good, she can really change the pace of the battle. That clashing of hers is annoying and she wins pretty often. I use j. b a lot from far away to keep them from coming in (it is also an overhead for whatever reason), if i'm close j.a just has better priority. j.2c is good if you are above them, it'll knock them straight down I think.

I think I'm going to be taking a break from this game. I burned myself out last night using Konohax, I just didn't feel like playing anymore after that.

Your Fiona is not bad, you just need to get her combos down and have more experience playing against other people. Here is a little bit of advice, use guard cancelling more often, I notice you just sit there blocking my attacks without doing anything. 6D into 214AB drill super is good, just time it right and you can get free damage from it since grounded opponents cant really escape from it after an attack and use a homing gauge if they happen to block it.

I can tell you what I know.

First battle, Mildred (that's her name) turns into some giant core thing. I never killed it, but I know that the match doesn't count. You can lose, and go onto fighting her anyway. It's pretty hard. She shoots lasers that knock you all the way back. Remember that laser attack Apocalypse does in XvsSF? Think that, except this time, the lasers practically home in on you and onto the other side of the screen. I might be over exaggerating a bit.

Next, Mildred comes out of the shell or something. You'll instantly notice she has her Super Gauge at... 9. And it'll never go down. She stands around quite often, but wont really let you build some combos, since she'll just phase out. Low sweeps work good. Be really careful though. She'll spam EVERY Arcana's power. This could range from trapping you with the water Arcana's hold, or sending Gier out everywhere. The worst thing is... She'll use her super where she disappears and sends a laser down from the sky. Ha. Good luck with blocking that or seeing it coming. She'll just do it out of the blue. Now, she isn't totally impossible. I've come close to beating her before, but just as I was about to beat her, I got my ass handed to me by a Lillica player.

*sigh* Yesterday was a sad sad day. I went to my local arcade as usual and i noticed was gone. What i later found out is that replaced it by KOF MI arcade version....Not just 2 cabinets, but 4 cabinets! WTF? :tdown: Seriously, i dont know what the arcade owner is thinking. However, KOF is mainly the only fighting game that people play in my area, so who knows. It might get popular, but from what i have i played, i still dont like it. Now im not as pumped for the PS2 release, but ill probably still get it. I have a feeling that it got sold to some other arcade. I know where it is, but Im not going really bother to travel out that far to play it. Hopefully, KOF MI fails and a miracle happens.

Not that anyone asked or anything, but regarding tiers in AH:
In my honest opinion, the character you pick doesn't really matter. Every single character in the game can do really well. The only tier list i could make would be based on the characters that are in SBO. Since there are more Konoha, Heart and Kamui players than any other character, i would put them at the top. Since there's no Yoriko or Fiona players, i would put them at the bottom. Everyone else in middle.

However, ive honestly seen people do good with every character to the point where i dont think the character matters all that much (where certain matchups are a bit different) An example is that Konoha is Lilica's worst matchup. However, Mei Fang's worst matchup is Kamui. Only one of those characters can be considered "the top" so even if Konoha is listed higher than Kamui, it doesn't mean that Konoha is harder to beat with Mei Fang. Quite obvious. But more important than the character tier list in this game is the arcana tier list. However, not all characters do as well with each arcana. A Kamui could be using a really bad arcana for her and even if she was "top," with a bad arcana, i wouldn't consider her top anymore.

However, there is no definite tier list, if i made one, it would be my own opinion, and not the opinion of everyone. I was thinking about doing it, but i could be wrong. There is more depth to this game than i feel that i know. I know my character and what's good with her really well, but i dont feel like i know a lot of other characters well enough to gauge an entire list and such.

So i can't tier characters due to arcanas, and some arcanas are only good with certain characters, so the only real list that can be made is a character+ arcana list, but doing 110 combinations would be really really silly, imo. Therefore, ill just do this for my character:

Lilica:
Steel/Orochikalos - This arcana is an interesting choice for her. Depending on the character she's playing against depends on how useful it is. Against Konoha, i feel as though she rushes down too much for it to be useful. Against things like a turtling Kamui using Niptra, you can use the charging to get Kamui to rush in. Aside from that, i feel as though i dont get bar fast enough and i feel like Lilica always needs one bar just in case she needs to use her 236A+B super. I dont feel like she really needs a sword and shield, and i dont think it does much to benefit the rushdown type character she is. Also, she has to sacrifice a wakeup at LEAST to do a powerup, and too much bar is dedicated to that when she needs her bar to do 236A+B's and so on.

Water/Niptra - This is a somewhat popular choice for Lilica players. It allows her to rush down more without worrying as much about getting hit thanks to the bubbles that float around her. She can also do things like 236B~A+C and buffer in the super grab for a really quick setup for an unbreakable grab. It fits really well into her rushdown, especially if the opponent is good at blocking.

Fire/Lang Gong - The things fire adds, i dont feel like Lilica needs. It helps out characters without long air strings by adding the 632146D fire super, which does a lot of damage. Lilica already has 236A+B which does a LOT of damage for a super, can be used in the air, and comboed out of if you HC. She doesnt really need the 236236D explosion as much because she has GC4 236A+B. Since her 3[C] got slowed down, it makes the fact that its unblockable a bit harder to utilize, just making it not as worth it, in my opinion. HOwever, if you're really bad at the loop, you can do 236a~C into the fire super and then do 236a~C again and homing cancel after that to continue your combo. Its a nice touch, but she does so much damage with heel kicks alone that she doesnt really need it. A 236D fireball is always solid, but i dont think its reason enough to use the arcana for her.

Wind/Tempestras - This arcana is fun and a solid choice for Lilica, but doesnt really add that much to her game like it does for other characters. The double air dash is always nice, but the D button tends to work just as well for the double air dash purpose. Triple jump helps extend combos, but for Lilica, since her air combos go on for so long, it doesnt add much. The 236D boomerang is cool and can be used for pressure, but overall its a pretty weak projectile. The 623D tornado is kind of cool, but there's stronger pressure options. The drop down with 2D is what adds the most to her game, imo. It allows her to get to the ground immediately and can make for crazy movements along with all her other movement options. I think that the GC6 pushblock also doesn't really give her the benefits that it gives characters with longer range. Lilica WANTS to be close, not push the opponent away. Might be useful against Konoha or Liese, but against other characters, i feel it's best she get in.

Death/Dieu Mort - This arcana is actually pretty good for her. The teleports don't do much, but the 236D poison cloud is really good. After she does her heel kick combo and ends with j.B dj j.BC, if she does 236D, and the opponent techs, theyre forced to block it, which gives Lilica pressure. If they dont tech, they get hit and are now poisoned. If they wait a bit and tech late, theyll get put in the corner with the poison cloud right in front of them. It lets Lilica keep the pressure on. Also, once she activates the arcana, because loop keeps them comboed for so long, she can do a lot of damage with the poison arcana also. I believe if she goes really high in the air and does a combo that ends in 623B 623B 623C, she can send a cloud down (if theyre in the corner) and have the same mixup as above (provided she D's down). Plus, Dieu Mort is the only arcana that gets out of Kamui's Time infinite, so i would never count out using it.

Love/Partineas - I love this arcana, but overall, i feel its somewhat weak for Lilica. Everything is solid, but it doesnt allow her to keep the pressure enough, and it doesnt add to combos. In the air, her 236A+B does enough damage that even if she connects the 641236D super lazer after say, 623B 236B 236B (which is somewhat situational since you have to have them about 3/4 or more of the screen away from a wall) it will only do a tiny bit more than her 236A+B super would have done anyways. Everything else is decent, but if the opponent just doesnt spam stuff from far away, they're not gonna get hit by the lazer, and if they just block or bounce back her 236D, then its not even worth using really. 236236D is kinda nice, but her bar is better used. The arcana summon is really good, but not worth using the arcana, IMO.

Electricity/Bhanri - This is, in my opinion, the strongest arcana for Lilica. Due to Lilica's high speed, the clashing that this arcana is based around is really strong for Lilica. If she clashes 2A with Kamui, doing 2B will beat out every other option Kamui can do. And there's numerous ways to clash with it as well. Running forward is always good because Lilica is a strong pressure character, and charging her 3C or her really long range 6C also causes clash, which is also really really good. In the corner, once she grounds you after her corner combo, she can do 214214D and pressure you with guard crush mixups and then combo off of the lightning super. In addition, if she hits you with a charged 3[C], she can do her 632146D super for free damage that nothing can be done about.

Earth/Otsuchi - This is prolly the worst arcana for Lilica, in my opinion. Losing the ability to combo off of 2C is pretty rough. Granted, she can use other combos, but it doesnt offer her enough to make it worth it. The 623D stone drop offers decent pressure after a successful combo, but other arcana's can do the same thing, but better. The super armor on her charge moves is pretty sweet, but i dont think Lilica uses charge moves enough to make it worth it. The 41236D stone punch (aka Anal Beads) can be decent in combos, but for most characters, it extends their air combos, and Lilica can do that well enough on her own. I watched a few vids of a Lilica using this arcana, and i feel as though the player could have been doing so much more damage with each hit, and even if he got a stone drop setup, it didnt reward nearly well enough. The supers also dont really add much to her game. The 641236D punch does what her 236A+B super does anyways, and the 236236D foot stomp is cool, but not worth it enough to me.

Time/Anutpeda - This arcana is really interesting. Its like stone in the sense that she can't combo off of 2C due to the 6D dash being different, but time adds a lot more. The ability to charge the moves allows for her to pressure while the thread of the charge move is sitting there. After her 236A+B super, she can set up the 236236D super, and get into possibly a bigger combo. After she does ABC:236a~B236C, she can do the 236236D super as well and set up for a larger combo. The backdash allows her to get out of many things that other arcana's couldnt stop, and allows her to punish moves from long range because heel kick and slide are so fast that if the opponent whiffs a move from the backdash, she can punish. In addition, the 6D allows her to get out of certain situations, or cause crazy crossups with the super long range 6[C]. While this may be hard to use, i can see this arcana being very rewarding in the end.

Plant/Moriomoto - This arcana is weak overall. However, Lilica can still benefit a bit. She can use the 214D seeds for setups into the heel kick overhead (seeds have to be blocked low), but its quite difficult to set them up well. The plant grab honestly doesnt really help extend her combos because as i keep saying, she does that well enough on her own. So other characters that it may benefit more, like Yoriko or Kamui, for example, might use it, but Lilica doesn't need it for damage, and it doesn't honestly add that much anyways. She might be able to do the 236236D super after her 236A+B super, but the life drain gained from that is pretty sad, as well as the damage done. Overall, a weak arcana, so Lilica not benefiting much from it is no surprise.

Gier - Gier is, in my opinion, the strongest arcana. Any character can use it and do well. Lilica can also use it and do well. It gives good setups, and she can combo off of it like most characters. It keeps the opponent pressured, and thats really really strong in this game, but i feel like she should be rushing the opponent down trying to stop them from doing anything, not activating gier and waiting for the opponent. Therefore, imo, the defensive aspect of what makes gier really good for Kamui is lost, and the pressure it gives can also be done with Lightning in the corner after an air combo, but Lightning offers more. Again, Gier is still really good and can be used really really well for any character, so its always a safe bet, but i dont feel like it utilizes what makes Lilica a good character.

Yeah, that took a while, hopefully it helped, and again, its all just my opinion, none of this stuff is set in stone and the only way things are, but i feel it correctly depicts the arcana's for her. For those who dont want to read the above, here's essentially what i said:

Edit: after more evaluation and watching many video's and stuff, i edited where i think the arcana's go. The fireball is more important to lilica's offense than i originally thought, so i bumped up fire. In addition, she gains HC4 236236D which is stronger than HC4 236A+B in certain ways (lack of clash is one of them) and 632146D adds a lot of block damage on wakeup. Unblockable charge 3C with the speed it has is also quite strong IMO.

Time is just in a world of its own. So many setups to everything. The backdash is retarted good when you add in the speed of her slide and heel kick from far away. It stops a lot of other setups cold and she just has so many ways to combo into her stuff without the use of ground HC6 anyways that its no big loss.

Death seems too reliant on already hitting the opponent. Her offense is really good as it is, and death doesnt add too much more to that. Teleports dont seem to help her the way they do with Liese, and the poison cloud cant really be comboed with her the same way it is with Maori or Liese, so there goes that. Essentially, there's just stronger options.

Water is super good for Lilica, but the more i see it, the more i just see it as not being as good as lightning or time for her. I kinda want to make the distinction that Time and Lightning are surely her two best.

Keep in mind for non-bat wing, rollerskating pigtailed girls, the choices might be a bit different. Water is solid for a buncha characters tho. Heart, Kamui, Konoha can all use it pretty well, avoid it like the plague with Kira, and Maori/Yoriko/Liese don't do too well with it either. Hence why its hard to make a definite list of arcanas and characters. =/

Earth isn't that bad for Fiona. Her 3C has long range, so losing the combo after 2C isn't too bad, plus her 3C doesn't send them straight up, but into the corner where it makes doing rock punch combos not too hard, and the damage is pretty solid. In addition, after you rock punch them a couple times and then end with air dash 2C, just do the rock drop from high up, and youve got some good pressure then. Plus adding super armor to her 3C makes it even more of a pain to put up with. But fire Fiona is always solid, too. Gier Fiona isn't a bad choice either. I think Fiona can work well with some of the other arcana's, too. Electric Fiona might not work as well as some other characters with electricity, and Grass Fiona of course simply CANT do as well. People are fans of Wind Fiona, since the pushback is kinda nice and giving her more mobility adds to her combos. Poison doesn't do that much that benefits her specifically either, imo.

Thats all just my imo. I havent seen much aside from Gier, Fire, or Earth Fiona.

I've never played this because there is nowhere near me that has it (highly anticipating PS2 port) but wouldn't a tier list with Arcanas kind of be like CVS2 tier list where they judge the characters based on their best groove? I'm probably an uneducated AH noob that needs to STFU but just an idea :confused: Then tell me each characters single best arcana. And if we go by only one arcana, does that mean we ignore the others?

Some characters with certain arcana's are better vs other certain characters. How would one "tier" that?

I already said generally that its widely agreed that Konoha, Kamui, Kira are the three best, but the middle part is somewhat ambiguous. Is Mei Fang better than Lilica? Is Heart better or worse than both?

Its too hard to tell, imo.

The tempestras arcana summon is completely different. Its a one time punish to a move with just about any recovery time, as tempestras comes out instantly (like gier).

The niptra arcana summon is probably the most useless. You wait a while and it puts the opponent in slow motion.

The two you were comparing are apples and oranges. Though i would agree that overall Niptra is better.

Chibi - Thats not the ONLY B&B. She can do like, another 5B5C into 41236A 5A3B and one less j.B delay j.C, but you get the idea. Just do whatever is easiest for you.

Once you get the hang of that, start moving onto harder, more damaging things. Dont go for the most damaging like, hard combo every single time cause then youll miss it too much and get discouraged. Keep it simple at first until you get used to doing just that, and then start adding on little by little.

That's right folks, local arcade in my region has replaced AH with some other game.

Oh well, I guess it's either whenever I move to Japan or the console port in October.
