for the liese thing, is there a limit to how many times you can kill the doll? b/c you kill it twice in that match. maybe it doesnt come back to life if you kill it twice.

Any time Liese puts the doll back in the box it gets revived/healed. I haven't seen that vid yet but that sounds like it might be a glitch. Sucks for OTK I guess. Lol.

There's something wrong with me because I just got back from CF after spending close to 8 1/2 hours playing this fucking stupid game. I only managed to play against one person (Andre) and that was for 15 minutes (with him playing Lilica).

I fucked around with Fiona, Kamui, and Saki, and decided to stick with Saki. I like her alot, and I managed to make 'some' type of combo with her after a while. Here's what I came up with Ken, I literally don't know what to do after a certain part.

I do 2abc, HC 5a, 5c, iad j.b, iad j.c, land, j.a, j.b, j.a, j.b, super / 623+C.

I dont know what to do after that iad j.c, when i try 5a / 5b / 5c again they're too high.

And I'm going to be truthful, Saki is totally a freaking placeholder until I can get my hands on Petra, then I'm dropping her like instantly.

Also sorry Stone, but I'm playing Wind Saki too :lovin:.

theyre called homing gauges

time arcana's forward+D basically teleports you forward. the charge unblockables are replaced by little clones you can store on the field as long as you hold down the button .. kinda like gier

They must not be fans of the game. Personally, I could see how it could get a score such as that. I mean graphically, it's okay. Sound wise... well I couldn't really tell from playing the arcade version because I can hardly hear the sound. Originality... well the character designs aren't all that original (except maybe Lis, Maori, and Kira) but they don't seem to have that much personality. But I think the gameplay is what we all love as fans. Although, the arcana's are reminiscent of Jojo's bizarre adventure's stands.

Arcana holds little similarity to GG or MB, though one could argue that AC's heavy 'loop' based combos should be pointed out. More then anything it's that 1-3 combos can = death in Arcana.

And if you want to play a game that's VERY similar to Arcana, look around for EFZ, otherwise known as Eternal Fighter Zero.

The similarities arcana holds to guilty are that they both have a cast where anyone can be used and win, but a couple characters have to try a bit harder, and a couple can do soooo much. Also, in AC, it seems all the characters just got upgraded from slash, meaning everyone is kinda broken, but since everyone is broken, its kinda balanced. Arcana is the same way. Everyone is kinda broken.

That and long combos, and stuff have some similarities. Aside from that, they dont play too much alike, but its a similar mindset, im thinking.

There are ways to zone in. Homing is one of them. Konoha can teleport. Earth Arcana allows for invinci-homing (which is why I run it with Kira since she's zoned out easily). Poison (Dieu Mort) is just some next shit that you can use to teleport the OPP. Don't think of it as DBZ though.

Arcana is Marvel and EFZ's baby.

I’m not familiar with the lingo so I had to look up what “Otaku” means. I think that actually means I’m not, right? I like anime, I guess, but I neither have the time nor money for games and anime so I don’t think I’m an otaku. I do think this is a good game however. I think if you can get passed the window dressing the characters, which really is irrelevant in fighting games, the cast could be all girls, or all guys, or all robots, or all ninjas, or all cowboys, or all vampires, or all male robotic ninja cowboy vampires and it’s the game would still get out love because we like the engine. I like guard canceling, homing canceling, aracna picking and clashes (which are reminiscent of rival schools). I just like the game I don't care if it's all girls, that's just gimicky.

Frankly I'm not even going to debate that the game is full of content targetted at otaku. In fact that was my first impression of the game. Trash loli game. But it looked interesting enough gameplay wise so I decided to give it a try. Especially since I never thought it could come to Singapore.

It took me a while playing it on and off to really get a feel for the game. Keep in mind I mean playing it against real people. It's utterly impossible to get a real feel for the game playing the trash AI. I then found that I really liked the way it played. At this point the "loli stuff" is just kinda whimsical and it really just helps me have more fun.

In fact, now I'm almost glad the game is the way it is. It keeps "OMGIMMASOGODDAMNSERIOUS" trash from playing it.

Gier is always a good choice... lightining is pretty good ..cuse she's like clash queen... and with lighting is like... more shit to clash against... Poison is also a nice choice too..

Going to learn Leisolette. How does she control compared to someone like Eddie?

Gimme the skinny. I noticed she's versatile in her Arcana options as well. Plant seems like a good choice due to her wakeups (or does she have unblockables without Plant?), and so does Rock and Gier.

AKA, it's hard to give you a breakdown of lieselotte compared to Eddie, since not many people here play both games. Your best bet is to ask Marn/fubar/CrimsonDisaster for a better synopsis.

However, I can tell you this. Plant Arcana is the worst Arcana in the game for a few reasons. With that said, I've seen plant arcana work in japan, but it's difficult to set up stuff with it because the arcana is so weak and doesnt give you so many benefits. Rock is good with Lieselotte since you can get hella anal beads (if you saw my vids vs otk, one of the top 3 lieselottes.) Gier is good with Lieselotte because it's just a strong arcana in general, but I don't think it's the outright BEST with her. It's still good for obvious reasons though. :P


I guess on a basic level, shes similar to Eddie in the fact that 1) she has a beastly command throw which creates true 50/50 situations while the doll is out, and one grab completely changes the momentum of the match (since it reverses your controls) 2) it's hard to rock when the doll is dead (from my limited understanding of GG, it seems hard to rock with eddie unless his assist is out there, no?)

The difference is, if you hit the assist it doesnt die, it takes 3 hits to kill. You can recharge the health of the assist by calling it back into the suitcase, but if the oll is dead, you have to be directly over it's body to get it back in the suitcase. The dots that liselotte puts on the screen basically control where the doll will go next, and of course there are several attacks that the doll can do (some of them setting up unblockables and completely ambiguous crossups. You can even put the dots on the screen before the doll comes out of the suitcase, and it will follow the dots as soon as it comes out. Even if it gets hit, as long as you have the doll out there, if will follow the pattern that you set up as soon as it recovers from the ground. There's even a move that will teleport the doll fullscreen to where you are. I guess another way that she's like Eddie, is that she is top tier in this game (where again, to my limited knowledge, eddie has been top tier or really good in every game except for slash?)

Sorry that my explaination is so ghetto, its just that I don't play the character, I only know how to fight against her, but she's top tier and one of the most technical chars in the game. I guess you'll get to figure shit out in 5 days or so when the game drops on ps2, and you may want to report your findings here, since English lieselotte knowlege is very limited at the moment. :)

I'm asking this question because me and my frens have been trying to input the code for fiona on AH but it ALWAYS doesn't seemed to work at all. Execution might be poor on our part but come on after so many tries, I believe one of the tries should be successful rite?

Woof - I was using the Love arcana. My opponent was using Lilica with Lang Gong. Every time he knocked me down, he'd do her charged kick where she hops forward and kicks. If I HC, I think she still barely hits me. Though, I remember back flipping away with Mei-Fang so maybe I just didn't time it right. There isn't much of a follow up if I get hit since I get sent towards the wall and use D to recover, but it's still annoying lol.

Yeah, Eddie's kinda like that, but his shit recharges automatically and his stall tactics are what allow him to control the match until he gets his assist back. Lots of footsie tricks and if the opportunity prsents itself, lockdown patterns.

Good to hear that Lies doesn't play that way, I didn't know you had to manually get the doll back in the case, so it seems stall tactics might be in order for that to be set up safely.

Dot patterns sound interesting. I'll do as you suggested though and do my homework and contribute if there's a lack of info.

Akuma - if Lilica is using 6[C], then the charge is really slow, so you have plenty of time to hit if you tech, if he's too far away, you can prolly tech into 214A or 214B or something. If he's trying to time it for you TECHING, then you can just lay on the ground or tech into DP or whatever. You can also go for clashing it and hitting him...6[C] is really too slow to be THAT effective...i'd be much more worried about Lilica's charged 3[C], esp if you're playing regular AH before they made it slower...

I am able to punish him for 6C with other characters pretty easily, but I was confused with Fiona. :rofl: about 3C, he started using that on me and it WAS a bigger problem but he hasn't gotten the hang of it yet. I'm pretty sure I'm abusing regular AH stuff as well.
