GGPO and Nebula/CPS3 Emu

Over at the Spek SNK forums, Elsemi has expressed interest in putting netplay into his new CPS3 Emulator, I've read that there has been discussion regarding finding a new emulator to support with GGPO, and I just wanted to throw this suggestion out there whilst the timing is ripe.

Why not discuss netplay with Elsemi, I don't think he's much of a fan of Kaillera, (although he is planning to implement it I believe) and something like this might be very interesting to him.

It's also perhaps a chance to work with a great coder and talented emu author. Just thought I'd throw this out there.

Ponder said in IRC he really doesn't have the time right now, but I think it would be a good idea to open a line of communication with Elsemi. The CPS3 emu is likely extremely clean atm because it only supports the 3 series of games.

The best thing would be a dedicated emulator for GGPO focused on fighting games.

It may be a good thing just because you'd actually have someone on the emulator side of things who could also work to make it better, rather than having to work with pre-existing stuff ElSemi may be able to make the whole process easier by meeting the GGPO developer half way.

I know it's much too soon, and I sadly very much doubt it will happen any time in the near future, it is a very cool proposition to be able to collaborate with an author of an emulator.

Both are fantastic products that have just kind of hit the scene, and I can't think of a better combo.

Where do I send the check to make this happen?

I agree entirely with the idea. Moving this away from Final Burn will get rid of a lot of people's objections to this.
