I literally began playing this game this week pretty much, so I'm not the best to comment on it. But that said however, it does seem playable. I wouldn't judge anyone's performance based off online play, but it's a good way to learn how people/characters play.

If both players have green bars in a match, it seems pretty damn good really. At times it will feel real sluggish, but I'm still able to block high/low, and hit juggles so hey.

I have seen some lag spikes however, that make you cringe lol. Like Jack launching someone in the air, then the game chugs, dood misses juggle as a result. But hey, what can you do I guess ya?

I'm sure the connections tough now because I'm sure everyone's online but I know its probably gonna be better in a few weeks. If Resistance and NBA2k7 can run without lag, I'm sure Tekken, coming off the HD instead of a disc can.

Thanks for giving me the heads up. We all know online fighters carry some sort of lag with them, with that being said some run good and some run subpar.

The patch on the US store is only compatible with the US version on the North America stores. If you bought yours off the Hong Kong store, then get a HK PS Card from play-asia and buy the patch from the HK store (also they have a lot more stuff than the NA PSN because the HK PSN has content from both NA and JP PSNs).

If not, then you have to rebuy the US game or get it off a gameshare.

Yeah I actually had the japanese version that a friend transferred. I deleted it to download the US version. Basically the store took 30 bucks from me and wouldn't give it to me, so I guess I'm going to have to figure out the gameshare thing. =/

So far, I've had the best matches with shoobert and another player we played named kayreiko, who was pretty much putting my ass to DR school. Other than the random drop outs I had at first, playing DR online is pretty smooth overall.

Also, they better get to steppin in fixing the problem where you have to refresh the lobby three times to avoid a network error.

I've had some really good games with Livingshot and Da_Gawd(don't think they post here) with minimal lag. I was able to pull of decent combos without any trouble. The guys over at Tekken Zaibatsu recommend that you create a room with a limit of 4 players and voice chat turned off to help minimize the lag. Overall it is very playable.

So far, not considering the bugs that'll obviously be ironed out in the near future, I'm very satisfied with the matches I've had and DR online is probably a good enough head start for Namco to improve the online for SCIV and T6.

How do you use the mic for this? Friend of mine got a mic today, we synced it with the Blootooth sync thing in the settings, that worked fine. But when I go online the Mic is on but I don't hear static and the mic icon won't show next to my name.

He's right, the host needs to turn on support for headsets. I'd recommend you stay away from servers that allow headsets though, since that increases the chance you'll lag, unless the person is near you.

I would have typed more earlier but I was using the PS2 controller, but I have a pretty open mind to Online. The only thing is I have to do nerfed combos and they aren't even guaranteed. Ground juggles are alot easier online but the blocking is tough, VERY TOUGH. Also, throws are hard to escape as well. But I'm fairing pretty well. Hopefully, we can all meet up over the weekend.

*EDIT*Note about how lag has affected me: As a Paul player, not being able to do my damn JFs pisses me off. I pretty much do Demolition Man offline about as naturally as I breath, yet online I can't land it. EVER. Let's not even start talking about escaping throws or low parries. And lows become a whole new beast as well. Still fun regardless, you just have to play differently.

Yeah, this game lags like crazy. I checked my signal strength today before I played and it said 100% but there diffenetly games where I was causing the lag. I would give a wired connection a try but I'm too lazy to rearrange my ethernet cable so that it'll go into the living room. Anywho, feel free to add me to your list. Hey man, you weren't all THAT bad, hehe. At least when we played, there was minimal lag. But to answer your question, I definitely would say King is a bit tough for begginers. You should try characters like Paul, Bryan, Law, Bruce, Jinrei. I find all those characters to be a little bit friendly than the rest of the cast, especially Paul and Bryan.

I tried joining you and Clayface numerous times last night, but I kept getting the network error, as well.

I really hope Namco patches this problem soon so the lobby is as smooth and problem free as Resistance's.

The only game I actually got to play last night was with DJICE- which was awesomely lag free. We played for over an hour and the quality never diminished one bit; I was actually able to pull off some nice juggles.

Yeah, I got on and made 5 wins in a row out of 5 games, I don't really play tekken too much but honestly - either people aren't good or the lag is making them not good, because I'm kinda terrible. Thats the problem, switching block stances requires prediction rather than reaction because by the time the animation comes out, its too late to change how you're blocking, at least in a lot of the games i've played.

Kazuya 124 is ridonkulous online because you have to hold d/b right as the 2 comes out in order to block the 4. Any advanced scrub worth his salt can then just do 12, df+2 or whatever mid and abuse the shit out of it

Seems like the network problems smoothed over with the 1.92 firmware update. I'm able to easily join games and people come into my games frequently. :)

NO. Bryan is really strong, easily top 10 in the game. He has good lows and decent crush options, and great punishment in b,f+2. His best feature is his taunt which guard breaks and against the wall, it's rape. Bad part is that it takes alot to get his taunt cancels down, so you'll be missing a big part of his game for a while. Worth learning though.

DJ(mishima's in general) are all about execution. If you can't effortlessly crouch dash and EWGF(both on punishment and out of the blue), then you'll set yourself short in the long run. If you can do that, then learn him. He's pretty simple to play once you got that down.

IIRC you cant play other regions. I think there was a guide somewhere about getting hold of the Jap version which basically revolves around making a separate account. So I think the same principal applys to the EU version as well.

Custom sticks are no problem, you just need a converter like a pelican converter that has the analog/ps3 button. I usually use the hori fighting stick 3, which isn't too hard to find, but if you don't like japanese sticks, just get a custom.

OK, I've had this ridiculous lost connection problem ever since MK2 that has gotten a lot more frequent with DR. I bought an ethernet cable to go wired but that still didn't work. Pissed, I Googled the hell out of this problem and finally found out that I needed to open ports on my router for the PSN. I haven't had a lost connection so far after doing this.

So, if anyone has had a recurring problem with lost connections, check this site out and it's easy step-by-step tutorial.

I have to search 3 times to see the full list, maybe thats because Im connected from the UK. But Im always being signed out whenever I am on the PS3's dash. I unlocked ports, enabled UPNP, even tried setting up DMZ but nothing seems to work for that. If I ever try to send a message from the dash, I will be signed out. It works fine 2nd try.

That truly sucks, man. I really stopped having network problems once I enabled DMZ on my router. It's so nice to be able to play for two hours straight without a single problem. I rarely have any lag now ever since I opened my ports, too. No more error 8002AD23 bullshit!!

The only thing else I can suggest is turning off the Media Server option in your PS3 network settings.

I've run across some high level AK players that rip pretty good ass. I always play "Same" rank games, so I'm always running across a lot of Lilis, Kings, Pauls, Asukas and such.

I had what seemed like completely lag free games with a couple of people tonight, so lag free that they could've lived up the street for all I know. For the most part, I've been able to adapt to orange and black connection bars and getting used to the lag seems a lot better than getting used to the lag in Kaillera, thankfully.

Yeah, good games. I erased my stats because my stats looked like hell and I started getting penalized for dropping out of games when my PS3's IP# changed on me and in turn, my ports weren't being forwarded properly.

I decided to clear my stats and start anew and boy, I shouldn't have started over when I was piss drunk. :razzy: Now I'm regretting doing that.

It can be... Don't use a wireless router connection when playing, direct wire connect. Playing someone on the opposite end of the states will lag like hell too at times.

I just hope all lag issues aside from the router issue, get fixd when T6 comes out.
