Poker is one helluva drug. You can be playing by the book and doing everything right and STILL lose money. Have some discipline while playing the game and learn that its okay to b down a few bucks than to be flat out broke...
I'll be playing lotto, WINDFALL FTW :lovin:

I hadn't played online poker for a couple of years, and decided to try it again. I lost $500 over 3 days, and decided that I'm never gonna play online again.

I was feeling down for a while, but last week I went to the casino, and I won back the $500 and then some, which made me feel better.

Read some books, don't play bad, don't play above your head, reap the rewards. Poker has cleared all my student loans and paid for my car. It's not all doom and gloom.

yeah, no doubt. i have had my ups, but lately i've just been having bad runs. maybe i just suck :arazz::arazz::arazz:

i just got a job (actually, my old job at jamba juice) so i want to see how long i can go without having withdrawals...if i do start up again, i need to get some money instead of just dumping all my checks into my account...

Yeah, kinda sounds like you're more of a gambler than a poker player to be honest. Always a good idea to take a break after losing a lot of money. Read as much as you can, brush up on your game, try to fill the holes in your game.

If you are a broke student you should be playing really quite low untill you are 100% you are a winning player. Poker is no get rich quick scheme, far from it. Good luck if you have another stab at it.

Its only a problem when you start ripping people off that you care about. Its no ones business if you wanna be a broke ass degenerate.

Poker is probably one of my favorite games to play, I've lost all interest in street fighter games, but I never fiend to play the game no matter how much im winning / losing. . . Online I'm always losing!!

Last time I check my state (Washington) doesn't allow you to even play online poker for real $$$.

I guess that a good thing for me b/c I have total shit luck when it comes to online poker people suck out on me all the time.

Some of my friends were semi-pro players in college. I would watch them, with my own two eyes, lose up to 25k in a single day. Of course, they also had days where they made 40k or more, but still, the swings were unreal.

I remember being a bit shell-shocked when I lost $100 in one day....but that's nothing compared to the emotional extremes these guys have to handle.

poker is the devil. playing in vegas was the most fun ive had playing poker in a long time.

just be prepared to handle huge ass swings. i had sessions playing NL in vegas where i went from down 450 to up 300, and this is just shitty 1-2 200 buy in.

that's probably my number one weakness...i'm not really a gambler, i'm actually confident that i'm a good player.. i win live cash games most of the time, but online is where i lose all my money

Nah, it was roulette. I don't really like to play because it is boring as hell, only when I make the stake really high that I would want to play. Losing that in Bally in LV, I slowly made them back playing Blackjack and Poker in MGM grand and Mandalay Bay. I seem to do better at the both ends of the strip than the middle.
