I know we've had threads about who makes the best burgers (and the concensus is usually In 'n' Out).
but what do you like ON your slab of ground cow?
I know there's a lot of burger lovers on SRK, so how do you prepare that all-american beef?
I like Mustard, Ketchup, Pickles, and American cheese. (And sometimes bacon, and mild banana pepper rings)
I will eat tomato, and lettuce too, but they're not required.
I don't like mayonnaise, or onions.

I dont eat condiments. So usually cheese + tomato + bacon.

I just like to use my own "special" sauce, it gives my burger the extra sweetness it needs.

ketchup, lettuce, mustard, cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce if the mood strikes

cheddar and fresh tomatoes. nothing more, nothing less. the quality of the meat is more important that what you put on it though.
almost forgot to mention the eggburger at ihop. too godly.

Basically lettuce & bacon are mandatory.
After that it's lettuce & mayo only.
Mayo, Ketchup, pickles, & cheese. Sometimes with lettuce & tomato.

Okay, fuck In n' Out, as fast food they might be awesome, but as far as the best burgers they've got a ways to go.
My burger:
1/2 lb free-range beef
Lettuce
Onion
Jalapenos
Pepper rings
Sun-dried tomatoes
Bacon
Chipotle Mayo
Yeah, try getting a burger like that at a fucking In 'n Out. I like it all organic if I can manage it. And that's not me being a health nut either, that's the burger tasting fucking BEASTLY.

Home Made is 1000x better than fast food, no question.
and there are tons of diners, and greasy spoons that make a burger so much better.
I just didn't want this to turn into a pissing match.

I'm making burgers tonight, and I'm gonna make 'em my way.
Rare (it's hard to get a good, rare burger in this world. Most restaurants serve it only one way: "Identified by its dental records".)
marinated in worchestershire and A1 sauce.
and with all the condiments I love (except cheese, I don't have any American Cheese)

Lettuce
Onion
Jalapenos
Pepper rings
Sun-dried tomatoes
Bacon

Done and done. :encore:
sometimes i just have a burger with ketchup

unless its grilled onions, animal style (in and out forever)

THere's this place near my house called Burger Hut. Fucking place owns.
Anyway.
Condiments:
Ketchup
Mustard
Mayo
BBQ Sauce
Toppings:
Cheese. Multiple kinds if possible.
Bacon. Pemeal if they have it.....shit owns.
Lettuce
Tomato
Hot Peppers
Maybe a pickle. depends what they look like, or if they are too big.
A sick burger, i forget what it's called but they have it at Montanas and Shoeless Joes. Its like bacon/cheese...all the regular shit. But they put deep fried onions on it. Killer.

Ketchup, mustard, mayo if available.
Lettuce is welcome but not necessary.
Good pickles are OK, wimpy slices (like McD) are removed.
Onion... good, but not too much. I don't need an entire friggin' slice!
Keep your tomato, it is OK if it's fresh & not going to sog my burger but I'll probably remove it anyway.
And don't gimme no sloppy, fall-apart-on-you mess either!
Nothing more; it's just a burger... cheese is fine, but actually I've been skipping it lately. [EDIT: I <3 bacon]
Worcestershire in your homemade is top tier. I don't bother with A1, that sh!t costs too much. I save it for a real steak.

I only get Buffalo burgers once a year.
on Labor day Weekend.
hey, howabout that?
next week, ahh hell yeah!
I know we've had threads about who makes the best burgers (and the concensus is usually In 'n' Out).
According to whose consensus? To me, Whataburger > In N Out
Anyhoos - if I were to make my own burger,
the bun would be slightly toasted
spicy mustard
pepper jack cheese
green leaf lettuce
tomato
pickle (is optional)
red onion
jalapeno
bacon

Yeah but that's just out of fast food resturants. There's no way any fast food joints burgers even compare to a bbq'd burger or a grimey burger resturant.

Put too much shit on it and you might get surprised to find a burger in there somewhere.

Plain with cheese is the ideal burger for me. Other things just seem unnecessary, imo. If it has tomato, or bacon, or lettuce, or even onion by accident... that's fine...but I prefer just meat and cheese. For some reason, I prefer this 'other stuff' only with chicken gyros sandwiches...I always get lettuce, onion and tomato on those things, but my burgers are always ordered with cheese only.(this is why the godly Fuddruckers and Cheeseburger Charlies are so precious and magical to me....since they only serve up plain burgers, and let the customer add condiments after receiving the order, my order is never wrong. It is impossible to get a wrong order on a burger at places like that.)
Mustard and pickles are the abominations though. That shit is completely unacceptable. You may as well have smeared diarrhea shit juice and jizz on the thing. Those condiments absolutely destroy a burger, and anything else for that matter. I'd love to just erase them from existence. I get a little angry just thinking about an otherwise perfectly good burger....RUINED by a goddamn pickle and some mustard.
edit---I just thought it over....and I've come to a decision. Pickles are indeed more disgusting to me than mustard. I could possibly tolerate something with mustard on it, if I was in a situation where I might actually starve to death. Pickles on the other hand....goddamn how do people eat such garbage? This is seriously one of the most vile, sickening foods I've ever seen. It's almost on the same level as SOUSE, aka "headcheese". You'd have to pay me to eat pickles, and my asking price starts off well into the thousands of dollars.
Mayo = I don't see the point of this nonsense. It adds nothing to the overall taste of anything, AND it makes your burger or sandwich look like someone bust a nut on it.

I made a burger just to try it out.
I marinated the beef in A1, buffalo wing sauce, and Italian Dressing.
I didn't think it could possibly be good, but when you grill it, oh hell yes, the flavors combine to become some kind of new, superflavor.
it was good, like, not "Oh, wow, uhm, I'm glad it doesn't suck and is inedible", rather it's more like "This is how I'm doing burgers from now on".

^ It was Indians and Whites.
Indians used them for food, tools. They used blatters and ball sacks as cantines and shit, hollowed out their horns to make calling horns to rally villagers..random shit like that. Clothes and many, many other things.
They use to cover their teepee's and themselves with their hides in the winter.
All whites did was use them for food and canopy covers for their buggies in the winter.

I marinated the beef in A1, buffalo wing sauce, and Italian Dressing.I've done something similar using habanero sauce. It was so good.
I want to try using Blazing Sauce (the hottest sauce at Buffalo Wild Wings). It would be so delicious. Also, it is my philosophy that hot sauce isn't really hot sauce unless it puts you in physical pain while you eat it.

Slighty Toasted Sesame Seed Bun
American Cheese
Mustard
Light Ketchup
Lettuce (Green leaf form not shredded or white)
Pickles (Spread evenly not all overlapping in the middle)
And this is gonna sound weird but Tomato just sitting on my burger for a little bit so the juice and flavor get on everything then I take out the tomato because I honestly don't like it just the runoff it leaves behind
when you pick it out

Native Americans killed a few a month and used the buffalo in it's entirety. They were in NO WAY endangered as a species before the white people came. Whitey came along and just started randomly killing them for just their tongues and shit like that.
Need half a lb of beef? Kill a buffalo.
Need like, a scrap of leather? Kill a buffalo.
Need to test out your new gun? Kill a buffalo.
Feeling emo? Kill a buffalo.
Anywho, my perfect burger looks like this:
1/2 lb home-ground beef, marinated in a mixture of Lea & Perrins BBQ marinade, A1 Sauce, Tabasco Sauce, pinch of oregeno, basil, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and garlic powder.
GRILLED to perfection, in this case medium rare. (Method of cooking is a must)
Onions that have ALSO been marinated in same marinade and grilled until slight caremelization takes place.
Lettuce, no tomato, unless I have REALLY slammin in season tomatoes.
THICK sliced Applewood smoked bacon, fried not to a crisp, but kinda in between.
1 Slice of Pepper Jack cheese on top of the patty, 1 slice of Chedder cheese on the bottom.
Jalepeno slices.
Saute'd mushrooms.
More Tabasco sauce and maybe a LITTLE ketchup to taste.
Toasted and LIGHTLY BUTTERED bun
Also:
1 Kosher crunchy dill pickle on the side, not in the burger.
Served with ice-cold beer and Poutine.
I eat that maybe twice a year if I'm lucky.

Buns. Patty. Cheese. Bacon.
Nothing less, nothing more.
Lol, which one of you fuckers infiltrated my schnucks? Went there yesterday, and they JUST started stocking Bison Burgers, had a lady next to a stand of them, cooking them in a mini grill(not a foreman one, some generic thing ;_;). They were raw and full of a crapload of blood, I wasn't able to stay until she finished them, but I'll probably pick up a pack of patties later on.

During Cooking:
Black Pepper
Onion Powder
Paprika
Tobasco
After:
Salt
Small amount of Ketchup
Nothing goes on it during cooking if it's a cheeseburger. Just salt and ketchup when finished.

goddamn, I'm firing up the grill now, this thread is making me hungry for burgers.
Onion is mandatory. If its sauteed even better, deepfried if I'm really craving. Fresh tomatoes second. No lettuce. Dijon mustard, mayo and ketchup and good ol' cheddar slice to top. Pickles optional.
