After Cartoon Network split to form that alter-channel Boomerang I noticed a huge downturn of oldie toons. Classic cartoon shorts that always entertained me were slowly disappearing for garbage like Whatever Happened Robot Jones and Camp Lazlow. They even cancelled Toon Heads for some reason.
Anywho, this thread are for those who want to mention their favorite classic cartoon shorts.
Here's probably one of my all time favorites-
"I Love To Sing-A... About The Moon-A And June-A And The Spring-A..." (http://youtube.com/watch?v=28hk97-vZdQ)

The one where Porky Pig tries to smoke and then he goes into a crazy dream world tabacco shop and everyone is singing about how bad smoking is while stuffing cigars and cigs in his mouth.
The one where Gogo the Dodo was so mean that Porky actually cried, and then the cartoon just ended.
The Barber one with Bugs and the big red monster.
It's really a shame they don't show these on Cartoon Network anymore during the daytime.
There are so many more good ones. The one where Wile E just quits is funny too.
MY NAME IS DAFFY DUCK HOO HOO I WORK ON THE MERRY GO ROUND HOO HOO...
lol, kids just can't handle that stuff now a days.

The one where Donald Duck is trying to sleep in a motel, but the tap keeps dripping and it drives him crazy... If anyone knows the name of this episode it would be most apreciated as I would love to see it again...

"Duck Tracy" where Daffy offs an entire squad of pug-ugly hooligans locked in a closet with a Tommy Gun. :smokin:
lol You won't be seeing that back on TV anytime soon.

I found it's name! It's called Drip Dippy Donald (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040303/) however it's not on Youtube... :bluu: Damn it's older than I remember, I never realised it was actually that old.

Cool thread idea.
My favorites are the Fleischer Studios Superman cartoons from the 1940s. They are in the public domain, so you can find them everywhere in various stages of moderate to poor quality, but they have some pretty damn good versions packed in with the deluxe Superman DVD set. Very good animation, very moody, and an iconic representation of the character.

There was one in which there was Bugs Bunny and there was a loudmouth girl portraying Red Riding Hood. It was called "Little Red Riding Rabbit" but she was LOUD, yelling everything that she said.

"I almost forgot.....HEY GRANDMA! That's an AWFUL BIG NOSE FOR YOU......TA HAVE!"
Here's some soundfiles of her voice....TA HAVE!

Also, can't forget Bug Bunny, Rocky (both versions) and Mugsy.
OH, Bugs visited the "Three Bears" and he flirted with the mother bear to get out of a jam and look how it came back to haunt him:
*EDIT* see the attachment*
I picked up the Warner Bros. DVD collections, and they had a lot of my favorites. :)

Old old old school Daffy Duck is fucking great. He's completely insane and that's about all there is too him.
Now looking at some of these old cartoons on Youtube...a lot of them had some pretty racist segments. Bugs Bunny in blackface? Damn.

oh man I remember that one! man that was a crazy short. also old tom and jerry was great...suck to know so many of these shows just can't be done on TV anymore
the very fact they try to update the old cartoon characters for a new generation...it just doesn't work...

i remember this one. its very easy to get that song stuck in your head - kind of like the song in this Porky Pig cartoon, Naughty Neighbors (http://video.aol.com/video/tv-naughty-neighbors/1878832). i'm still amazed at the violence in this one.
Mm-mm-mm, would you like to take a walk?
Mm-mm-mm, do you think it's gonna rain?
Mm-mm-mm, how about a sasparilla?
Gee, the moon is yeller,
Sump'n good'll come from that.
also, co-sign with whoever said Daffy Duck used to be completely insane. if you can find a clip of Birth of a Notion (1947) or Conrad the Sailor you'll get to see for yourself.
edit: found it
Birth of a Notion (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q164NsPxPd0) -- the end of this one is beyond hilarious. "Ya Craaaaaazy?!"

What's funny is that those cartoons never compelled me to smoke, drink hard liquor, drop hot irons on my sleeping cat, use explosives, or shoot people.

very true...people fear that young kids will emulate these things but they base this on maybe a couple of extreme cases where one kid had to try something out.

Naw this lukewarm Daffy, a precursor to the piss-ant Daffy which you see today, QWAAAZY Daffy Duck is even more random, more chaotic, like The Joker sipping on some PCP/LSD/Crack cocktail. 90% of QWAAAZY Daffy's vocalizations were "WOOWOWOWOOOWOOWOWOOOOWOWOOOOO..."
Another one of my faves, Bugs Bunny getting owned by the Gremlin. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=D1xqrdtJs8w)

I dunno...he sounded okay as Clark, but then he got that gruff pedophile voice as Superman. The actor is Bud Collyer, and his "Superman" voice is his natural speaking voice. He also played Superman on the popular 40s radio show. Back then, it was just a gruff voice, and pedophiles all sounded like sissy boys.
