Holy crap... i dont wanna ruin this shit for anyone but man this movie is crazy. It has more twists than all of jason and jet li's movies combined. Shit was like the asian version of face off. Alot of violence,guns, swords and most importantly ninjas. The plot is a bit convoluted and confusing but comes together at the end, it does keep you guessing but it drops all the hints u need about midway through the movie to figure it out.

thats your belief but this is defintly a different type of movie for both actors. And i like the twists and cop drama cause its an aspect neither has really pushed in their movies.

Thanks for the recommendation, maxx; I'm a huge fan of both Jet and Statham, but had my doubts about how good the pairing would be. I'm certainly going to have to check it out now.

I did enjoy the movie overall. It had a great story, very original. Unfortunately there was little action, but the action that it had was superb, I think I would watch it again for the few action scenes and the story.

But, its not really a "to buy" movie, definitely a good one-time watch through.

i feel like their might be a bit of fighting cut out. Ya the action was alot less than usual but ya know..its worth watching for the mere fact its sumtin out of their element. If we get too used to one style we get bored but they can throw a few different styles of movie making they make us crave their original even more. the fighting with swords was pretty gruesome. plus jet li makes me wanna have a closet full of pimp suits.

Haven't been to movies for awhile, so i decided to use my free ticket on War. The movie was pretty average overall w/ little fights...The main twist i knew from the beginning, it was a given. The extra twist did surprise me though, so it wasn't a complete let down in terms of revenge story. The movie would been have been save if the fight scene @ the end would have been longer but man was that pure let down.

Jet Li was fantastic though, very similar to Charles Bronson from the Death Wish series. Just wish there were more fights or at least longer ones. The funniest part was "In Japan you be already dead" Was that an inside joke of Lethal Weapon 4? "In hong kong you will be already dead"

Jet Li fans go ahead & watch in theater to support Jet. If you're are tight on money, i say wait till video. You're not missing much. 6/10

My next movie is 310 to Yuma. Looks good!

I liked the movie a lot, the twists were far from the standard predictable fare and random bewbis are always good in my book.:bgrin:

The fight scenes are pretty fun to watch from a technical aspect too, lots of blood.

watched it with the evo GD crew, we all gave it a big thumbs down. entertaining though. there were even ninjas! vastly superior to some of jet li's other american movies..... such as cradle 2 the grave.

Did anyone else suspect that the Triad Boss' wife was the one behind the whole thing at first? I thought them focusing on her in random scenes was trying to hint that she was the mastermind.

With a daughter to protect from a life of violence and wealth to fall back on it seemed possible.

Saw it tonight, really enjoyed it. The fights were sparse but things turned up in the second half - the Tea House fight in particular was awesome. I'll admit to not thinking much during the course of movies, so I didn't catch on to the main twist until when it was revealed. The 2nd twist though - ouch, poor Statham.

I think this movie is going to suffer due to people's expectations for all - out action, when in reality the movie is more...I wouldn't say dramatic, but definitely has some substance to it. I'll rent it again when it's released on DVD to make a better rating, but I'd give it an 8 / 10 on first impression.

Jason is cool but used poorly in this movie. The character is lame and tries to hard to be bad ass. In most of his other movies, he wasn't trying to be bad ass, he just was.

Random Asians bearly are speaking English along with bad acting. Devon Akoi or whoever I assume is Japanese from the last name and is struggling to speak it due to probably never speaking it in her life. HARD TO WATCH.

This movie just had the wrong tone. It should've had the vibe Romeo must die or Cradle to the grave had. They knew they were making a B, fun, action movie. This movie tried to come off as deep and serious like a drama when it knows it sucks.

This movie was pretty good until the power outage near the end. When the power came back on, it was the part with the major twist which was completely unnecessary imo. It was worth seeing just to see Jet Li being a badass.

lol. She can speak English fine, it's her Japanese that’s unbearable. Most of those Asians are probably good actors in their first language but def not in English which is needed for the serious tone this film wanted to have. As far as Jei Lei goes, badass martial artist/actor but in this movie it's like the director told him he was playing a "gay yakuza" as a joke and he took it seriously and acted gay the whole time.

Rush Hour 3 and now WAR, Jackie and Jet have now been in the worst movies of their careers....hopefully the upcoming movie they're in together will make up for it.

This just reminded me of when we were in the theater and that moment came up and you just screamed "PHOTOSHOP THAT SHIT!!!" I almost spit out the scotch I was drinking...it was priceless..

Just as funny as Dios screaming out "JUUUUSSSSTTTIINNN WOOOONNNGGG" every time someone got their ass kicked.

This is still just about the only part of the film I remember, is you yelling something about making an avatar about that during the middle of the scene, lol.
