Skype not working with vista?

My friend has Vista on a toshiba laptop.
She dloaded skype setup , but when she tries to install it, it says" skype is not a valid win32 application"

Is there any thing she can modify to get it to work or is she SOL?

"Not a valid Win32 application" means that either it's corrupt or it's linked to a missing export.
I'd start by redownloading the setup...
(I don't know if it works with Vista or not, but "not a valid win32 application" is a very specific symptom.)
