I just got myself a job which takes me an hour to get to. I need something to make the drive through traffic more bearable. An entertaining podcast should fit the bill, but I don't know what's good these days. Any suggestions?

anime world order. long ass episodes but highly informative.

NPR has a lot of decent ones. I also listen to podcasts of old Stern or Loveline or The Adam Carolla Show for the commute.

It's hard to find podcasts that are bearable let alone decent. Mostly its 1 hour of conversation and 2 hours of dead-air, and the 1 hour conversation is mostly "remember when" topics. ugh.

Anime and Games: Try monkee77's podcast (I think its stickied here in GD), I don't play video games or watch anime but I listen to them once in a while. They play good music from videogames/anime and even their conversation topics are engaging even for somebody like me who doesn't follow the videogame/anime world.

The 1up and IGN networks have a bunch of videogame based podcasts. Anime World Order is a good anime one, and its 2-3 hours long so it can last you a bit. I reccomend downloading itunes and using that to look for podcasts.

1up yours, Retronauts and EGM Live are the best vid game podcasts IMHO. Aside from the overtalking, Garnnett needing to emphasize that it's his God Damn show and other shinanegans, it's a fun romp into gaming culture and perhaps the most in depth analysis of gaming culture on a weekly basis. I also love it when N'Gai Croal comes on because everything that comes out of his mouth is gold.

yeah, well there plenty of free podcasts or whatever on the internet that are supposedly "designed" for
workouts, but remember -- you get what you pay for -- the creators of these podcasts have to rely :woot:
on "free" music...... they can't license real hits, they could never afford to .... if you look :wonder:
carefully at the playlists, you'll realize they are all either outdated techno from back in the 90's, :lovin:
or they are really "underground" (i.e. terribly, terribly boring) tracks, with just a beat going
forever until u want to kill yourself -- ....

If you want something that's really going to get you motivated and keep you motivated... :looney:
