Besides Tekken DR (how does that stack up to the arcade version, btw?) and Vampire Savior, what other good fighters* are available/coming for the psp?...and did they fix the control pad diagonal issue when they redesigned the psp?
*Leave the Capsuleball Z games out of this. I said "good fighters".

Alpha 3? i only remember that.
The PSP D-Pad is a nightmare.
Are_you_okay?!

Yeah it fucking sucks, I struggle to do a fucking qcf move for christ's sake. The new slim PSP supposedly has a better D-Pad that is more suitable for mobile fighters.
Look forward to KoF: Orochi Saga coming soon to PSP. Power Stone Collection is out as well, and if you like shitty the Capcom Collection remix has the original Street Fighter.

Don't forget about the CPS1 & 2 emulators as well as the MVS emulator, though they only work on 1.5 & custom firmware.

Works great for me. I get off E's in Tekken flawlessly.

The only ones I have are PSC and A3 Max. I kinda wish PSC was online though, it would of been so much better.

The D-pad for the new slim PSP is a lot better. Stuff actually comes out when you want it to now!
GG #Reload (or judgment with reload on it) was relased in the US (in the JP version, slash was there instead of reload). Old, but not terrible.
Narultimate Hero game is on there. Some like the series, others dont. Depends on opinon.
Powerstone for the PSP is also on there. Loading times is the main issue.
And DR for the PSP is pretty close to the arcade version considering the hardware differences.

Aw yeah, that's great. Are there any more great fighters coming out in america, or is this just about it? and has the ability to "flash" the firmware been eliminated in the psp slim?

That mod helped greatly. I had no confidence in my skills to not break everything though so I had a friend do it but I highly recommend doing it .

I can vouch for the slim psp's d-pad as well. I couldn't do shit on the original psp, but everything comes out perfectly on the slim.

There's also MK Unchained that is the PSP version of MK Deception.
Nice but not essential.

MK on the Psp is not so bad..... if you don't hate Mk since it's first 3D incarnation.
In the end it's always a LOT better than Spectral vs Generation.

The improved d-pad is a slap in the face to all psp owners who bought the original.
GOD FUCKING DAMN IT!
I only played Tekken on it anyway, which is now on mah PS3.

Mk in general is junk, except for MK2, and still I'm rather cold towards THAT. I leave mk (and non-japanese wrestling games) to the redneck trailer trash gamers. "Aw dang, that thar wuz kyewal! Make 'im bleed more, Dustin!"
I like interesting fighters with at least a modicum of depth and replay value, not poorly executed gimmicks and boring gameplay, e.g.: Mortal Kombat ANYTHING. Sorry.

Like Shaolin said, your best bet is using the emulators. I currently have Kof 2001-2003, SamSho 2&3, and Garou on mine. And they run pretty smoothly, too. As long as you aren't afraid of downgrading your firmware to 1.5 and you follow all the instructions, you won't have any problems.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
"Lately" I've only played Mk deadly alliance on the Ps2, of course it was not so good as Tekken 4/5 or Soul Calibur 2/3, but it was still pretty funny with a good combo sys. But I understand you point of view, SFA3 Max is in my Psp since the day I took it.

Side question... how's the LCD on the new slim PSPs? I know the original had a lot of dead pixel issues when it was first released. Are the new slims any better? I was seriously thinking about picking one up once Dracula X Chronicles get's released.

Not afraid of that, but until they develop something for the slim that can be dl'ed, I'm stuck. I don't have access to a chunky that's been hacked (I've never even SEEN a psp in real life out of the box), so I got nothin' but what I have to buy from stores.

Honestly, you shouldn't have that much of a problem finding one of the older PSPs. I'm sure you'd be able to get one from a Gamestop or Ebay or the like. The chances of being able to downgrade the newer PSPs has gotta be slim since Sony has been trying to keep users from being able to do just that since they learned you could use homebrew/emu's years ago. Plus, it'll be cheaper than getting the slim model.

If someone is interested in buying the old model of PSP I suggest to get the ceramic white.
The D-pad is not so bad as the black one (even if it still sucks!!!) and the LCD is better (one year of intensive use and no dead pixel at all).
And last but not least it'a a long way cooler!!!!

LoL @ your exception. MK2 is junk.
MK on the PSP is pretty bad cause MK Deception was terrible. A PSP version of UMK3 would be nice to have though. Maybe it'll get it after the DS arcade port of it comes out.

MvC2 would be impossible to play on PSP. Small screen + iffy d-pad and buttons (even with mods) = unplayable.

MvC2 would be impossible to play on PSP. Small screen + iffy d-pad and buttons (even with mods) = unplayable.please. Variables would just require two buttons pressed at once; as if MvC2 wasn't extremely chaotic before hypothetical button cramping...

Just picked up a PSP on holiday in Thailand.
Finally put my GBA SP out to pasture.
Been playing the incredible looking Tekken 5 DR (got the japanese version so have no idea how dojo mode works)
And Haven't had time to delve into the World Tour of SFA3 Max yet.
Also wondering how you tag in the tag mode?
