View Full Version : What makes KOFiend way bettar then all the other Yangs?

Not trying to put down KOFiend, I'm just asking. Oh, and by all other Yangs, I mean all other Yangs here.

Is it his superior footsie skills?
Lots of experience?
Extensive matchup knowledge?
Is he using hax/option selects?

This is sort of a difficult question, but I'd say it's a combination of all aspects.
Just watching him vs Pyrolee on youtube before, he does a lot of things differently to how I play my Yang and it's probably why my Yang is no where near up to snuff with KOFiends. I tend to jump a lot more and I often eat shit for that. I also tend to go for UOH, lk, Mantis slash far to often on wakeup and I also struggle against rushdowns.

KOFiend had an awesome ground cross-up on Pyrolee at one point in the Evo2k6 vid on youtube which I'm going to have to incorporate into my game. I would say, overall, that KOFiend's mixups and his ability to fight aggressively and keep his opponent guessing are what differentiate him from other Yangs. Yang's game strongly relies on his mixups and mind-games.

Roshihikari and Kei both have strong Yang's, and even Pierre knows how to throw it down with Yang as seen in the latest G-Vision ranbat.

what makes him good is he gets off his stun combos in evo and shit :tup:

kofiend presses buttons nonstop in matches even in the transition to the next round. Its hypnotizing.

Man when i saw Kofiend playing at the Game Newton foreigners tournament, he was running cross up dive in the corner on knock down and then somehow landing s.mk on the other side constantly on people. It was pretty cool.

What makes Kofiend so good? He's prolly close to the best Yang in America. Although im sure there are guys over in CA who would give him a run.
