Anyone else got this on pre-order? I dunno why but this game looks so fun to me... I guess just cause this is the idea I had for a Yu-Gi-Oh game a long time ago when I was in elementary school. After like 2 or 3 days in 1P mode, I'm planning to play some casual matches online once in a while... then once I get my practice down I'll play official matches (hopefully there'll be exhibitions, instead of only ranked matches)
EDIT: I should start editing the first post with stuff.

This shit is definitely going to drain my money.
Summon hundreds of creatures and cast incredible spells from a wide assortment of common, uncommon, rare and ultra rare cards. Some players will even uncover the ultra rare Phantom Cards – cards that only reveal their true powers under the EYE.
BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGONNN.
I have the game, Fire Crusader deck + 5 booster packs on pre-order.

Ya, think I will pre-order it today myself along with one of the theme decks maybe. Still debating though whenever I should pre-order for a box now or wait a week.

Thanks for the info. I plan to pick this up also. Im curious if local card shop will also have the boosters in stock. Because most local mom and pop stores sell all WOTC products at a discounted price. It would be a nice way to save $.
Another thought in my head is if this game does well maybe WOTC will do something with MTG also using the same concept.

Just got an e-mail saying that the game's release date has been pushed back a week (from Amazon). Gamestop seems to have changed the release date too, but only for the decks... the booster packs are listed as one day earlier & the game is still the same on their site... so I'm pretty confused now about what the actual release date is.

So here's the deal after I've done a bit more research... Amazon announced the delay just today around 2 AM Pacific... CD-Universe notified everyone who preordered about the delay around 2 days ago. Gamespot / IGN still listing it as the 23rd... Sony's site changed it from 10/23/2007 to 10/2007. And Gamestop still listing it as the 23rd. After calling my Gamestop tomorrow, if they say it's still set for the 23rd, I may just cancel my Amazon order and pick it up in-store (even if it's not actually on the 23rd). I've been waiting too damn long for this game and don't want to wait for the 2-day shipping D:

Yeah, seriously. I'm hoping one of the smaller card shops stocks these. I might try to buy a box of boosters off of them if I get really serious about EoJ.

More bad news. Best Buy has it listed as backordered. I heard Sony pushed back EoJ's release date to get Ratchet & Clank in earlier.

Yet another update
http://www.us.playstation.com/EyeofJudgment/ Official site is up
What I'm being told is that there indeed was a shipment today of Eye of Judgment, but a very limited shipment... a couple people on Amazon got theirs shipped on the 23rd if they pre-ordered really early, but most Amazon orders have been delayed to the 30th. It seems that the first wave of shipments came up short for whatever reason... I hope I can get my hands on one before next week.

Quadruple posts are for gangsters.
The most popular question we’ve heard revolves around online cheating. Mainly, “What’s going to prevent players from ‘stacking the deck’ when playing online?” – meaning, cheating your card draw so you get your best cards from the start. Fortunately, THE EYE OF JUDGMENT introduces a new paradigm in drawing cards when playing against your opponents online. First, you’ll have to register and save your Summoning Deck, offline. Then, when logged on, you select the Summoning Deck you wish to play. Once paired up with your opponent, the PS3 will automatically shuffle and randomly pull your cards for you. Once these cards are selected, you must pull these cards from your ‘physical’ deck and draw them to your hand and play the Summoning Cards on the Battle Mat, as normal. That's Sony's solution to online cheaters (stacking the deck so your favorites are at the top, and yadayada)
The other possible way of cheating is counterfeit cards. Hopefully there won't be a card rigged enough that everyone will want to counterfeit it.

I am NOT ready to go online... I have a hard time beating computer on Medium difficulty. This game is really nice. Not too complicated, but also not too simple. It's really the type of card game I could get into. I hope to get better so this can become an actual good games thread.

Its impossible to counterfeit these cards, Sony has some complex coding deal imprinted on each of the cards etc.
I'll get this eventually, its not on the top of my priority.

There is no complex code. It has been stated in forums and in reviews that people have been able to make copies that the eye camera can recognize..... could careless personally as long as they still buy the cards in due time.

Check out the cards... it's really easy to counterfeit them if you have a somewhat decent printer.
I'm going to be buying them, but I'm sure others will take the counterfeiting route. I guess that's saving money if you only plan on playing online, but I'm looking to play against people in person as well so counterfeit's a no-no for me.
