Some dude in the 1st Sengoku Basara thread I believe,posted a a list of a few people who worked on 3rd Strike who still work with Capcom.

My guess is that Yes they still do have many of the developers,but most of them are knee deep working on other projects,such as Devil May Cry and Sengoku Basara.The others are probably working with either of SNK or ArcSystems

I really hope that if SF4 isn't the "AAA" title we all hope it will be on it's first attempt, that Capcom puts out revisions ala SFII series, SFIII series, CvS series, and Alpha Series. I really, really do... but if SF4 isn't well received, and in turn, doesn't sell well, the likelihood in today's gaming climate of a revisions/sequel for a game that didn't sell is very unlikely.

Interesting. However, I'll reserve my opinion until they a) shed some light on the gameplay, or b) tell us who's going to be making this title. It's going to take a bit more than a CG trailer to get me hyped...that's how Final Fight: Revenge for Saturn set me up for being royally let down.

But, I'll try and be more optimistic. After all, it IS Street Fighter 4. I just hope, for this game's sake, they do more to try and do more of a "grass-roots" type of thing that just focuses on getting at least a number of things correct, rather than try and go off the wall with adding needless enhancements. The reason why the likes of SSF2-Turbo, SFA2, SFA3-Upper and 3S are still played to this day, is because they're solid games in their own right (for the most part).

They try and tinker with the basic gameplay too much, and I don't think the people will be pleased. And for it to probably be a game that will use 3D polygons instead of 2D sprites, SF4 already has an uphill battle ahead of it. It's going to be interesting, seeing if they can try and pull of the same tight gameplay the series is known for in 3D as it did in 2D....the EX series tried, but no, it wasn't quite up to par...

Oh, and I'm sure this game will probably be a cross-console release across the three consoles, and maybe even the PC too. Street Fighter has a legacy of being whored out across practically EVERY platform known to man back in the day, and I don't expect it to be any different today either. Capcom loves money.

It wasn't until today that I realized that I... am a fanboy. I didn't suspect that when I checked my workplace message board for fighting game enthusiasts that an announcement of the next Street Fighter would be waiting for me when I returned from a quick fifteen. I didn't believe it. I dismissed it almost immediately as fiction. Until I saw the trailer...

It didn't give me gameplay but it brought me joy all the same. All day throughout my workplace we were abuzz about the new SF. People traded ideas, created dream rosters, and imagined the new tweaks to the fighting system. Speculation was rampant. And no one was more excited than I at a chance to revisit my favorite fighting game.

Man, I really hope this game doesn't disappoint. I sincerely do. I honestly think I'd be crushed.

What's the big deal if the SF4 has a couple of versions or updates?
Lest we all forget:

SF2 WW ---> SF2 CE ---> SF2 HF

SSF2 ---> SSF2T

SFA ---> SFA2 ---> SFA3

SF3 NG ---> SF3 2i ---> SF3 3s

In just about every series they got better as they went along, and most of us old schoolers had a blast as we went along for the ride. We played each version like crazy and then we adapted to whatever new additions or changes came along. I'd be more than happy with the same formula.

What I hope for personally though, is that they follow the pattern that they established from SF2 ---> SF3.... and that is making the new SF game VERY different from the previous one... but yet still related and structured in SF fundamentals.

So I hope that it's completely different than the SF3 series and totally inovative. Ryu and Ken were the only two to return in the 1st SF3, they are the two originals, so I wouldn't mind it if they are the only ones to return in the 1st version of SF4. I mean after all, this is SF4... it should be totally new with a whole new cast of characters.

As for whether it's 2d or 3d... i really don't know what to hope for. I don't see how a 3d SF is possible, but if they can do it in a way were it's gameplay is very solid and deep then I'll be cool with it. If it's 2d then it has to come with something new, much like how SF3 came along with a whole new look. (which blew us all away)

I'm completely hyped and everything and I'll play tha shit outta tha game when it drops, but to be honest I was more excited when I first heard about the new Ninja Turtles movie. I mean, who's with me? Now that shit was most unlikely! Like, that junk actually left me speechless.
