View Full Version : Personal/Rival Character Pre Fight Intros

A lot of people have been talking about cosmetic changes they'd like to include in SF4, someone posted having breakable crates which I think would be a fun homage. Another person also said having the characters age like an adult Sakura. Me, I hope they include different character intros before the fight like they stuff they had in CvS2 or A3.
Now before people startsaying, SF4 SHOULD IS NOT CVS2 OR A3, just chill out, these are only cosmetic changes. Besides, having these pre-fight intros before a fight add more personality to these fights. Seeing Gen & Akuma trying to do their signature supers before a fight adds history to the rivaly. And when I saw Hugo and Alex's Wrestlemania III-esque intro, it got me all excited.
Thoughts?
I like
Specialty intros have been in SFIII... just not as much talking and not as long as say cvs2... like ken and ryu giving props, ibuki and makoto etc...

Doesn't GG have intros that can be skipped? That's the best way to do it; skippable intros (if they're in there).

Here's one - Dhalsim tells Ryu that Chun-Li banged him cause he can stretch his penis
Once more, evidence that I shouldn't post when I'm sleepy

^LoL. WTH?
Just one comes to mind.
Ryu and Ken: Have them beat the shit out of eachother after Ryu throws his headband [that Ken gave him] on the ground.

yeah guilty gear has some cool fighting intros that my friends get pissed at if i skip, and some long talking ones too. but i agree fighting games need more of this and for talking ones add subtitles

hell yes.
this one would be nice:
remy: I'll defeat you, Guile
Guile: shut up beyotch *c. MKs remy till tearing his legs apart from his body and there's no more remy on SF* lol
no, bt seriously, those intros would be nice, the one between alex/hugo is the best from sf3... the yang vs yang is pretty funny.... "sure let's give yang a special intro against himself"

It would be nice for the characters to have some dialogue before fighting. It helps to advance the storyline.

Rose and M. Bison had an unseen character introduction in which she throws a tarot card at him imbued with Soul Power. M. Bison simply knocks the card away and the fight begins. This was seen in the storyline sequence in the arcade version, but does not occur when two players fight.
I would love to see more things like that, personally, but don't bog every fight with long animations or storyline sequences like SVC Chaos — maybe in a certain gameplay mode.
Bison's intro should be coming onto the screen, taking out a bunch of play money and saying "I got paid."

when ryu and akuma fight, ryu should flash in and out of "evil mode" as if trying to control it.

Best intro idea yet.

Maybe Bison will come on screen and show everyone why the back hand in his fighting stance shakes the way it does: cuz he's rolling dice baby

It's obvious why. If you're gonna go that route, let's just be completely retarded:
Remy: "Guile, fighting is super gay."
Guile: "So are you, limpwrists."
Remy: "Am not!"
Guile: "R 2!"
*round 1... fight*

I'd honestly like every matchup except for mirror matches to have 'special' intros. Then make the big rivals have more dramatic/longer intros. Making them all skippable as well. I liked that idea.

u think they actually gonna kerep sf3 characters?
its more likely they bring back sf2 chactacers back.. not sure about sf3.
i liked sf alpha where akuma tries the raging demon on gen.. but he blocked it. that was cool

^ I agree.
Not incredibly long intros, but just unique enough to show these characters have some sort of history.

The intros could be like this:
Player 1 goes first, presses 1 of 6 buttons to start intro.
Player 2 presses 1 of 6 buttons to respond.
Daigo Jr

i reckon it should be like, if no one wants to watch it they can only skip the intro if both players presses buttons....so BOTH players HAVE to press buttons to skip.
