2 me MK3 is way better. It had a crazy combo system, sharper graphics, better fatalities, and less glitchy. MK3 2 me is the best MK game ever. MK2 is the second best in the series in my opinion.

I've been playing that on the DS lately. It's amazing that an arcade perfect port was squeezed into a DS cart, along with Puzzle Fighter and oodles of extras. Oh yeah, it online, too.

My only big complaint about UMK for DS is that it's kinda hard to play with the buttons being so close together and the control pad being a bit too loose.

No way.

UMK3 is the most balanced of all the MK's. Not to mention how broken MKT is. With Noob, Rain, the bosses and the MK1/MK2 characters being so fucking broke ruined the entire game

MKT as a whole was a huge let down. This game should have been the greatest 2-D MK. Instead, it was an epic failure. And with all things consdiered especially with the last ten years of borderline terrible 3-D MK's, I think Ed Boon and Team MK owe us a Mortal Kombat Trilogy HD Remix (minus bosses).


And for the record, Brutalities are fuckig gay.

Online play = not a good judgment of the game as a whole. Not only can you not counter as well online, but you can't space correctly, or push people away with crouching taps from LP or LK.

Now, as far as Jax beating Mileena, it's very tough to play against a good Mileena with Jax. What are you going to do? Sit there and duck EVERY Sai that she throws from a half inch off the ground while she is sweeping you at 3 inches away? Timing the ground pound under sais is hard enough, but there are NO GOOD MILEENAS online from what I know.

I used to play PS3 online, but I'm extremely limited with a pad, no button configuration, etc, and to be honest, it just got plain boring. The only time I touch that game is if the MK buddies I have locally want to play, and it's night and day playing the arcade version compared to this.

As far as UMK3 and MKII goes, I can hold my own in both versus anyone. Not saying I am the best in either version, but I'm definitely no slouch, and my tournament placings in the arcade versions prove that. Especially with MKII.

Ok. Basic Mileena players will give trouble only to Jaxes that are ignorant to the fact that they can be countered. Not to be cocky by any means, but I could easily destroy basic mileena players with Jax using a dilapidated SIXAXIS. Anyone who thinks that sai spamming alone beats Jax is sorely mistaken. Good Jax players should know that they can be ground pounded under...hell you showed me that dreamTR!... all you have to do is learn the timing to where it becomes easy and it evens the score dramatically. Although I do admit, facing players that are very good with mileena is a bit of an uphill battle, but it is still perfectly winnable. :tup:

Yes, it is tough sometimes to go up against a good mileena, but mileena is not the be all end all in mk2. If you know and have mastered the multiple ground pound, Jax can MGP under almost any of her sais as long as you're at the proper distance and have the right timing. Even the ones that can't be GPed under...duck and wait for an opportunity.

Wired, 8 Mb/sec, Kansas City. I usually have a really good connection on MKII. Much better netcode than T5:DR and also isn't graphic intensive. I'll send you friend request.

dvdcsn: I'll say it again, you have not played a good Mileena then. The jabs and half inch sais right in your face are still too much for him. There has not been ONE good, professional Mileena player online, not even close. You have to see for yourself offline, there is a readon she beats Jax in the game. Mileena is #1, Jax is #2. Tiers have never changed. Don't let online matches fool you. Duck and wait for an opportunity? Jab punches and sweeps in face. Too much in Mileena's favor.

Thats good to hear dude, but unfortunately, both the SNES (very buggy, missing frames breaks game, no Sheeva) and the PS2 MK:A SE UMK3 is very buggy with physics problems, etc.

If your really into the game, either get a 360 and DL UMK3 from XBL, or go to www.UltimateMK.com and/or www.darktemplarz.com to find out how to DL the LEGAL roms for Mame and Kaiillera. :)

But I havent ben playing MK2 much these days. Too many people using their PS3 Wi-Fi or something. MK2 is already slower than UMK3, but lag tha makes you feel like its underwater, no thank you. But I will keep you in mind next time I do get that MK2 lovin feeling :)

Yea, my tournament in July wll be a blast. Not only am I gonna have MK2 Rv 3.1 on a cab, I am gonna have Rv 4.2, Rv 9.0 AND The Immortal Challenger hack.......ALL ON THE SAME CABINET. Its my Ultimate MK2 cab :D

There is button config on the MKII on PS2, but not on PS Network. Same with UMK3 on 360. Really stupid if you ask me.

Kinda. There is an arcade iin the bowling alley I work at. (same one where my tourney ill be at) but they dont have anything good. :(

But I did work at Putt Putt Golf n Games for almost 8 years during the 90's, and was there during the release of MK2, MK3, UMK3 & MK4. :)

I first discovered MK at a Chucky E. Cheese. I saw Sub-Zero spine rip, and I was hooked. Got a job (under the table at the time, later became manager) at Putt-Putt, and was there when they brought in the new MK machines, and helped out installing the ROM kits for the new Revisions. I have 1 cab with a jamma for MK3 & UMK3, and I am looking to buy another (hopefull dedicated) for my Ultimate MK2 cab. Dont have a tattoo of MK, yet...but thats my obsession :D That and I play 2-D MK's everytime I can. I'll be 30 a couple days after my tournamnet, so I know what you mean, lol.

But yeah, show us a pic of that tat. :D

As far as KI, I dont know.1 & 2 were HELLA fun to play, and I miss them. KI 1 or 2 on XBL would be the fucking shit. Or a new KI.

I am also hardcore into my SF's, Vs. games too. :D

My best hope for MKvDC is that is plays like MK4, and that isnt really a great thing. I love MK4, but its the MK game that didnt feel like a MK game.


But yeah, dude, you could build your own cab, or do what I did, buy it in parts.

Get a cab (preferrably a Midway cab), then get the control panel done, then get your jamma boards, marquess, artwork, etc.

Or you could throw down $1500 and get one delivered off of eBay :)

I alway wanted to add the Primal Rage cab to my collection :)

to me mk4 is a lost kombat,i havent played that game since around 97, and i dont recall playing it on a console either. i was horrible at mk4, that was a kombat that i really wasnt too great at.yeah street fighter 4 has boon and co chumped,thats good because i hope its timed with the mk dc release because they will compare sales,guaranteed. and you know how unbelievable the demand and fanbase for street fighter is,the fanbase is double us with mk,at least it damn near seems. hey are those full cabs still mad expensive?? and im sticking to my guns that deadly alliance is the best 3-d, i got nasty at that game,frost was such a great player,she had some real gritty walk up combos and the side stepping to dodge in that game ruled! that was the only descent 3-d mk aside from shaolin monks witch i thought was a great game, the 2 player on that game was cool,there were some great combos in that game

thanks guys and trust me this is something i did to myself so i am not looking for favors,just want another opportunity to show the real me. but i also realize that the things i did were nothing too too bad, i mean the things i said were more on the silly/stupid line,i didnt take it to the level beyond redemption.and i REALLY did believe in my own head that those were cheats being done in umk3,wow! man,you should have seen me turn red when the description of "infinites" was told to me by zonagle. i owe the biggest aplology to shock,i thought i was gonna expose a bunch of liar cheats,turns out the only thing i exposed was my knowledge of umk3,lol. i feel bad and really wanna apologize to the guy,plus i noticed he is a guitarist and we couldve shot the sh*t about shredding. hey if you thought people were cheating you would wanna expose them too, so its not like this was me trying to be a jerk,i was overly trying to expose cheaters in my head,thats what my intentions were,really! i would really like to honestly apologize to shock and konqrr,im sure they will not care nor listen. i dont think a 2nd chance is that bad,i am a great guy who made a dumb choice or choices in DEFENSE of kombat even if i was wrong!! this is becuase i didnt see combos like that in umk3 since back in the day with cheats, i legitimatly believed these people were cheating and lying. if you thought people were cheating wouldnt you be pissed? eventually youll know better but at first what would you think? anyway, deepest apologies to shock and konqrr and a couple others,i am so embarassed!!!!! can they give me a probation period or something?? plus man, this is a level 2 kombat forum,i want in on the level 1 with the best in the world,you guys!!

yeah man, that forum will tend to get SLOW! I don't know if the season has anything to do with it, but there hasn't been much to reply to in the mk2 forum for like a week and a half. GameFAQs is pretty much dead as well without egyptian as much as I hate to say it...LOL that guy was such a noob and a phony, sparking all that controversy! But in a strange sort of way, he kept people interested. Only that will I give him towards his credit. :rofl:

I still play somewhat. Whenever I'm sick of playing DRO, I just play MK2. Anyone looking to play me can send me an invite or add to friend list. Also what is up with the top ranked player on the scoreboard Hmong4ever or something like that. He beat me the first time using Mileena and then I defeated his Sub-Zero in the second match with Lui Kang. After he lost he just quit. It was a fairly even match up and not much lag at all. I think he's a rank whore.
