yes only people that voted on the item are eligible for the chance at buying it. This is to prevent the site from crashing like it did last year.

So the product you voted on has to win the vote right?

If that is the case I am fucked, I already had a Wii and hated it so I voted for a PS3.

They had this rule last year... the new rule this year is that they randomly select 1000 (or somewhere around 1000 probably cause some people won't order) people to get the deal they voted for. Don't feel too bad if you didn't vote for the winning item, they still sold some of the losing items off last year for a couple % off, just not the crazy price it's listed for.

Voted for:

Wii - I don't have one, and $80 SOUNDS good. Will sound really good once I get Smash.
HDTV - Wow this looks good.

If I can get both of these, there goes all my cash for the rest of the year.

You say that until you have a Wii and one month later its on your entertainment center collecting dust.

Not arguing that. It WILL sit there...until Smash comes out. And then once I'm done with that, it will be dead to me.

Same story here... I bought one, sold it a month later for like 300 used... and hopefully I'll be one of the randomly selected people now.

I voted,but I don't expect anything.I last year's better.

It seemed like last year you could realistically win.

Now everybody is going to tell their friends about this deal, and we over 10,000 users and less than 10% will get lucky

Way over 10,000. Last year the site crashed... so you could imagine how many people must've been on that deal to make Amazon.com of all sites crash.

Fuck Amazon.

They should have just limited this shit.Something like people that were at least registered for 2 or 3 months,to limit the amount of ass wipes that haven't bought shit from the website, but can waltz in and win a killer deal.

I completely missed out on this one, didn't get a chance to vote. Oh well, thanks for the money sweepstakes thing. I buy from amazon every now and then but not as much as ebay.

I wasn't selected either.

Now I just have to wait until the laptop and Roomba votes.

Of course the Roomba isn't going to win, but if I can get one at a discount, I'm damn sure going for it. I've wanted a cute robotic vacuum for ever so long.

I'm pretty sure that's their target demographic anyway, since you have to sign up to score the deals, and then many of those new customers will stick around.

Amazon already has our money and continues to get it all year, so we really don't mean diddly to them anymore.

Buy.com has the Roomba for 139.99 for Black Friday
