lol damn they got shutdown fast, glad I dont have this trouble at bitme.
Demonoids going to end up like Lik-Sang using all their cash on lawsuits untill their in the ground, I figure these big companies know that and keep taking them to court, the little man never wins.

The interesting thing about the Demonoid case is that a judge has said that such peer-to-peer exchanges are legal in Canada. See: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2004/03/31/download_court040331.html

Hmmm interesting read, that actually makes sense.
So why did they get shutdown this time?
The music industry makes me laugh sales arent crap because of DL's its because you're music is shit, plus with things like myspace people are being open to alot more indie bands, who let you have their music for free.
Really the music industry needs to get with the times, itunes is a step in that way but they need to wise up, its getting to the stage where people dont want physical copies or are atleast not as interested in getting a CD or whatever unless its a band/MC you really like.

There is still a huge list of better alternatives. I JUST now found out torrentspy was shut down(but got what I wanted on the next site).

I dunno. It takes time to get seeders and variety on a torrent site. The only 2 major ones I use now are isohunt and thepiratebay. What else are you using? I google for torrents sometimes and that works pretty well too, but it's nice to have a good site to browse sometimes.

The problem with torrents is that is that they are so goddamned easy to use and mainstream nowadays. There is always IRC.

Music hosted on various free file hosting sites ftw. Not so sure about you guys, but the type of music I listen has lots of users uploading new releases on free file hosts. Torrent is the last resort, absolute last.

The problem with irc is that you have to pay for servers sometimes and of course no one wants to wait in a queue.
I thought peer to peer was good to go in Canada though?

absolute last cause its so easy?
absolute last cause its so easy?
nah I am with this guy. I find IRC easier than torrents. Torrents can be poorly seeded if you're looking for hard to find things.

Yeah queues can suck, but for the most part they are pretty damn reliable.
