Dualshock padhack question

So I've heard that the best PCAs to use for custom sticks are to be found in original PSX dualshock controllers. The question I have, though, is whether the same applies to the white PS1 dualshocks. Can they be treated just like the PSX variant, or are they another breed entirely?

PSX and PSone dualshocks are the the same type of controller and both are great for stick modding

Okay, thanks a bunch for the info. For some reason the PSOne controllers are much easier to find here. ;)
