LCD's are the worst tv's (game wise) Lately they been getting way faster but it's still not good enough.

Plasmas aren't that great either (very low lifetime)

DLP's are ur best best. They aren't as thin as LCD's or Plasmas but they perform better with games. Alot of tv's now come with Game Mode witch allows u to play with less lag.

It plays games alright but there is some lag (sometimes noticeable other times it not) It really depends on the game. You aren't going to lag while playing Tetris on it, try playing Beatmania IIDX on a LCD screen and score some "AAA's" Then post up.

i don't play bemani games anymore, but i hear ya. the games i played didn't require a lot of twitch skills.

What I don't understand is this. Why do games on HDTVs lag compared to games on computers that can easily run at "HD" or higher resolutions with zero lag?

Televisions usually have lower refresh rates than monitors do.

LCD are the worst for fighting games but for other games it good. Like with Madden and shit I don't notice any difference but if you play a fighting game it god damn near impossible to land some of the harder combos.

it has nothing to do with lcd. its all dependant on the manufacturer and their technology used to scale images. theres plenty of LCD tv's that have zero lag with a 480p signal, and i see plenty that only cause a frame or less of delay(or none) with a 480i signal. i have a ghetto lcd 720p 37in tv, and at 480i, it only has a 7 ms lag. a little bit less than 1 frame IIRC. but most ps2 games i play output at 480p, which is zero ms.

anyway, its all a bunch of bullshit at which hd tech does it better. does one of em do it better? im sure it may be a possibility, but im also sure it makes very little difference since they all share that flaw since resolutions have to be scaled, regardless.

it has NOTHING to do with plasma/lcd/dlp. its hdtv in general and all the technologies have the fault. its the scaling process that determines all this. most tv's coming out handle em better and better and better.

to the OP, i would highly suggest doing research on your model if that is gonna be a big deal to you. better take a ps2 with component cables in the store and get a guitar hero 2/3 copy and do some tests, or something

This makes no sense either. TVs are typically 60hz, as are computer monitors.

I could be mistaken, but it could also be the fact that TV's are fixed-pixel displays whereas computer monitors are meant to be able to handle non-native resolutions and display modes.
