View Full Version : Tekken series question...

How come this series never had a combo meter? Would it be too hard to implement due to whole "grounded opponent" aspect of some fights? Also, some things like a "counter" announcement would be cool for some attacks whose properties/animations/effects change when done during an enemy attack, like Dragonuv's :db: + L :k:. It took me a week to figure out that the takedown/leg break wasn't random.

Haha

I will say this about Tekken.. the fact that you can have the move names show up onscreen when you perform them is one of the best and fastest ways to learn them. I wish every game did that..

 SRK....

Really it's not needed at all. If it was such an issue, surely Namco would have done something about it.

BECAUSE EVERY GAME SHOULD BE LIKE MARVEL WITH CRAZY BLINKING FLASHING LIGHTS AND A HUGE COMBOMETER AND TEAM UP SUPERS AND FUCKING RUSHDOWN KEKEKEKEKEKE PARTICLE EFFECTS OMFG AWESOME JIGGLING TITTIES DOA4!!!111

...I agree, I think it would be pretty distracting in Tekken. I like the clean presentation of Tekken.

I've been told the phone numbers give them statistics of where they have customers coming from so that they can figure out where to open new stores, send flyers through the mail, etc. A lot of retail chains will ask for a zip code instead of a phone number but I believe it serves the same purpose. I don't know it's true or not, but it would make sense.

You do realize we have a Tekken site. You'd definitely get a much better answer there.

Sometimes this information is given out to telemarketing companies. I don't know about other states, but I don't think a company in California can't refuse to sell to you on the basis of not getting your phone number. The more you know...
