They're saying it takes place after II, but before III.
No III characters, but characters from II.
No parrying.
A new counter system?
Anyways, I really don't feel like the info is true. It very well could be, but it does sound strange.

OH, I thought that one thread was just for the 1up article. Should I close this one then?
Anyways, I looked over it again. Yeah, I call BS. It just doesn't sound right at all. I do think it's just some guessing. I would be pretty pissed not to see the likes of Alex, Q or Dudley in the game.

Ryu looks great. you can tell it's early. Ken is not finished. There's no way any professional would let that slide. Everyone chill. It's gonna look better than that.

Hopefully the info is bullshit because I need a lot more Street Fighter and a lot less Meter Manager.
How about making corners (or walls?) matter? Position, projectiles, knowdowns, etc?

Supers are there (although they didn't decide yet if it will be like in SSF2T or SFIII), and now they've put another moves called Ultras.
C-C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!
I like this, give or take a few details.

From what I noticed, this sort of thing isn't that uncommon. EGM isn't the ONLY magazine thats going to get info. Magizines all over the world will get them. Thing is, publishers here are more apt to be tight lipped, while in South America, info gets leaked more readily.

The excellent Parry system form SFIII is gone. The new system seems to be called Saving or Revenge (we're not sure about the name). We don't know exactly how it works, but it's built around cancels. And we do know we'll have another gauge to activate the Saving/Revenge stuff, besides the usual Super Gauge.
Well I hope for gods sake it is BS, this is exactly what I didn't want. Don't get me wrong, I love HnK and AH, but this is a particular aspect I wished I wouldn't see in SFIV.

goddamnit!
Saving = blockstun cancel
Revenge = hitstun cancel:sad:
Supers are there (although they didn't decide yet if it will be like in SSF2T or SFIII), and now they've put another moves called Ultras. These makes your character throws a auto combo with tons of moves. It's like a custom combo ... except by the custom part.
why the gimmicks???
Anyways, just like for SF3 it seems so far that Capcom is just recycling some old mechanics from other games instead of inventing new stuff... I am pessimistic but at least I know that there's still PLENTY of time to work on this

I don't think this info is legit. To some extent yes. The photos are real but the info sounds off. I don't think they'd put something like ultras in an SF game.

Me too. That one line puts the whole blog into question.
i just hate that those screenshots are not in the traditional 2d viewpoint. I want "3s, only better"; not some new, completely redone fighter that is designed with network play in mind (which is why there will probably be no parrys?).
anyway, whatever; let's not all jump to conclusions mat

Maybe there are no parries because Street Fighter games have never carried over major mechanics between games. Just supers, really. 3s doesn't have alpha cancels, flipouts, custom combos or throw softening.

Has S-Kill said anything on this information?
"After Sf II, before SF III" dosen't sound correct for a sequel. The pics are legit, and if they're the first to show them, then I am gonna assume the rest of their information is true as well.

LOL Devil May Cry's timeline is DMC3, DMC1, DMC4 and then DMC2 officially. Metal Gear Solid's timeline is 3, 1, 2 and 4. There's more examples out there I'm sure.
Most of this RUMORED news wouldn't bug me either way. Except for the Sheng Long part. Um yeah, there's a character named Gouken you should look up...

Sano already answered, but I got throw out that it would be just like Samurai Shodown's timeline. Which goes like this SSV/SP, SS1, SS3, SS4, SS2, SS64 (1-2), SS WR (PSX).
So if SF4 was meant to be between SF2 and SF3, I wouldn't be surprised. Heck the Alpha series came after SF2 but predates the SF2 series in the timeline.

Yeah but that's a really good example though since that's a fighting game series too.

Judging from how the true sequel SFs (SF, SFII, SFIII) were always in chronological order and only the Alpha (hence the name) series was a prequel, SFIV should come after III.

I don't see anything wrong being after SF2 and before SF3. That's probably why it explains them looking like the same age if not younger than SF3.
I mean hey I'm all for the gameplay, story line and whatnot I can careless if it's a good game.
But I do agree Ken looks like shit in these screens haha but most be a beta shot so whatev~
If it does take place in between II and III there are still some things they can clear up. Like -
Who won the SF2 tourney, Capcom never stated who won.
How did Chun-Li go about taking down Shadowloo, via Urien's claims that her powerful legs destroyed the organization? Personally I think she systematically took it down after the SF2 tourney the way she claims in SF2 Revival that her work is not done, not that she won the tourney.
How exactly did Q see the fall of Shadowloo? No for the umpteenth time that is not Q in Ken's SF2 background lol and you people who claim Q is Mike Bison, Vega(cape), Rose, the tooth fairy and so on are even more nuts IMHO...
And not to mention they can even use this event to finish up the Ryu and Sagat rivalry since Capcom says they didn't fight during SF2.
Could be interesting, but it's still a rumor that I'm not taking seriously at this point.

I would really hate it if they just dropped the SFIII people.
I mean, I would love to see what happened between II and III, but shouldn't that get a different series name? I kinda liked that they went in order.
Even if he's not in it, I'll find a way to play as Q

the more relevant sf3 characters would be interesting. maybe a rise of the illuminati/after effects of the fall of shadowloo as the storyline :/ i'd like to at least see why some of the characters just... stop existing.

Does pics are fake. I can't believe I even fell for it at first. Do you really think Ken dodging a fireball by Ryu would like that? I don't think so. This is a fake photoshop artist getting attention to their suckass blog.
How the hell would they get their hands on ingame pics with special moves in em. That hadoken looks fake. The hurricane looks fake. Look at Ryu's face which they copied and compare it to Ken's face. No sence ha lol. It's fake. Even if they really got the pics. How would they know annything about the story? How would they know about parry's. They did not play the game so they can't know all that lol.
DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE!!!

But if we see the history of SF, it's always been 123 and any chronological in- between is usually Alpha. I really hope 4 isn't set between 2 and 3. It can't be really a new beginning can it if that's so?

This scares me.
The first picture showing Ryu doing a Goukesque stance was impressive, but these two pictures don t feel right, especially the Tatsumaki one.
I don t know... but I trust the developpers at 100 percent and hope they ll make a good game, satisfying both old and new gamers.
