Storyline wise: would you want a Prequel or Sequel?

Personally, I want it to be a Prequel but rename it to something else. Unless SF4 is told in flashbacks, I don't think having characters like Dhalism will make any sense because storyline wise, everyone from SF2 moved on. (or most).

So what would you want?

Storyline wise i want a sequel of course.
They've always kept "numbers" for the sequels.
Street Fighter > Street Fighter II (& various updates) > Street Fighter III
(Street Fighter Alpha was between I & II and thus didn't get the "sequel" number).

By the way, Blogeek's infos weren't confirmed. It was confirmed that some of the stuff they've posted was in their infos, but what exactly ? We won't know until EGM is out.

here's the storyline for SF4: Capcom wants to make money off this title so they're making it between SF2 and SF3 so they don't have to include those characters from SF3 that only the few hundred people that still play 3s care about.

yes it was confirmed. in fact, if you look at this quote from the link I posted earlier, "He [Douglas Pereia] also posted info directly from Shane's sidebars." That means he stole it directly from what was printed in the magazine. He didn't do any interpretation, he took it directly from the story.

Some of us are more interested in the storylines and characters. I am one of those people. Sure the gameplay is overall most important, and I hope the game plays great, but damnit I would prefer it to continue on after SF3.

If this is Street Fighter 4, it must be a sequel. The prequels where SFAlpha/Zero.
If you want another sequel, make SF Alpha 4 (after Alpha 3), or SF Beta (between SSF2T and SF3).
