Or in fact, where they ever here?
First of hello. Onto business. We all know that in the in Japan and US the fighting game scene was pretty big, and fighting games still get a regular workout these days. I'm curious to know if Australia ever developed a similar love for these games? Sure I've seen a few kids at the arcades (mostly chinese and japanese) have a few rounds on Tekken 5, but no crowd around them watching. Apart from a few EX2 machines, they only Street fighter machine I've seen lately is a 2nd impact in a lonely corner at the movie theatres, and I've never seen any body even approach it except for me.
I'm a Third strike player on the rise, and I don't know if there are even any machines in Brisbane (where I live obviously), or if anybody else in this entire state even plays the game.
So yes, my main question is are there any fighting game veterans out there who reside in this red dirt land of ours, and was such an arcade scene ever in existance? And also, are there any current fighting game enthusiasts still active, are there meetings, conventions, tourneys, etc.?
