From the EGM article, it sounds like Capcom wants to make some extra bucks from selling download-able extras. And to be honest, I'd much rather see fluff things, like extra outfits, extra stages, etc be sold instead of real gameplay content(characters, etc).

So sure, I say go for it. Throw Ken in a pimp suit, do a Naughty Nurse Chun Li, a Leather-Daddy Zangief...whatevers :rofl:

Customizable items like T5/VF4 would be a little much, but I wouldn't mind some slightly altered costumes instead of just more palette swaps.
Wouldn't have to be much: Ryu w/ his white headband, Vega could start w/o mask and claw, you could have Alpha variants for Ken and Chun Li, Bison w/ his cape from Alpha... Things like that would cater more towards the hardcore than anyone, since if you hadn't played each game you wouldn't catch the reference.

You know....I'm all for the classic look for the Street Fighters, but having alternate costumes might actually be cool, yet somewhat reflective of the character's personality/life. For example, having Chun-Li in her casual cop wardrobe as seen in the UDON comic. I thought that look was pretty cool. Or perhaps, even a costume that's a flashback to the old days of Street Fighter, such as her Alpha costume.

SF3 should have the same, lots of color variations of the same iconic outfits AND copy rumble fish's idea of outfits being ripped as your health meter goes down, would look really nice ! I for one think Tekken style alternate costumes could be done in a good way. I'm not talking about crappy soul calibur create-a-characters or Virtua Fighter stupid looking custom outfits. Just an alternate outfit for the second player like the Tekken series has traditionally featured.
