She moved too fast on her first movie, first starring role and chose the wrong role period. Every actor wants to be a fucking star and she wasn't smart enough to pass Showgirls up. Instant stardom blinded her.

Lisa Bonet did the same thing, trying to shed a previous image, when she starred in her first movie Angel Heart engaging in a graphic sex scene and Malcolm-Jamal Warner was caught up in losing his Theo Huxtable image he made bad career moves. They all wanted to "grow up" in the industry overnight and shed their goody goody images like it was a curse, but it made all of them fucking rich and famous.
