The other one was getting too big so we're starting a new one.

I beat Rise of a Ninja today, although didn't get 100% yet. The end is truly epic. I thought it would just be a couple of fights against Gaara, but they deliver on matching the feel of the scene from in the anime in gameplay.

Halo 3 is drawing me in again. Got my first overkill last night.

I'm also playing Marvel:UA again. Spidey's combat mission is a bitch. I want Iron-Spidey though ;_;

DMC-ish? I can't think of anything besides the recent Ninja Gaiden games. There was also a 3d Castlevania game on regular Xbox...but it was stale to say the least. That's a pretty bad first impression for a game to be boring just on the demo.

Overtime money is on the way very soon....so I'm thinking about Beowulf. I may wait a bit longer though since it seems like the type of game that will get a price drop fairly soon.

...and oh yeah--Geo Wars. 3.2 million.

Thanks to The Mullah, i was able to restore my Japanese profile. I had a credit card that expires soon (that was actually already cancelled) so it just wanted me to get a valid one. Once i changed that, i was good. I signed on no problem and was able to access the marketplace.

The reason why it was so critical was because the idolm@ster marketplace is having a 1/2 price sale on a lotta costumes and items, but only until 12/24, so i wanted to get them while they're cheaper than normal:

Plus with the new idolm@ster game coming out in late february that's based off of performances, i want to have as many varieties of good costumes as i can (as long as theyre not too much. I still havent given into buying the "good" outfits for 1000 points each yet...hoping there's a sale on those, sometime)

In other news, i finished yet another year with my unit. Trying to decide which girls i want for my NEXT unit. Gotta play more to unlock more items. I can use those items to benefit me the next time i play statswise. A vicious cycle of cuteness. XD

They should honestly setup two types of points - money based ones for games and media, and then achievement based ones for DLing themes and user pics.

I ironically beat Marvel UA last night. My squad was trump tight Deadpool running the point with maxed out team buff, Hulk with maxed out rage playing the linebacker, and Venom and Ghost rider as my clean up/oh shit/fear team. Most bosses go down in under 20 second except Dr Doom's pinball ass...OMG he pissed me off...teleport in with deadpool and assassain strike, after the first swing he's on the other freaking side of the map hiding in a corner not speakin. I want to go thru with an elemental based team next, but there seem to be alot of elemntal resisting enemies. Human torch/Iceman/Storm/? Still wish I could select MSP just for kicks. I want a new one though >_< Carnage must be in it, along with Warbound, Sentry, thunderbolts, etc. and with al lthe recent Crossovers they could do a MUCH better story *wtf, shield figured out you can steal odin's powers by taking him to the top of a mountain...wtf...seriously*. I'd like more 'next gen' graphics too...I understand this was a PS2 thing first, so I aint mad, but I'ma need for them to do it real big next time... and get some Marvel UK characters like Dark Angel, Death's Head 2, and Black Axe.

One thing I dont like about the character creation is that your character is stuck with their instrument. I made myself on guitar, but can't be on drums.

Wasn't a huge fan of Oblivion at all. Spent 20 hours and realized how boring it really was.

I'm almost positive that I have a Falcon. If I do, I'm a bit relieved because they're supposed to deal with RROD.

Played some impromptu rock band with my wife....we were doing tug of war with guitar. She normally is the singer, but she wanted to try her hand at guitar and challenged me. (I won every battle); funny thing is, she picked up Hard mode on RB like a champ! I was impressed.

Haha, Good luck. I've been playing Bioshock, Halo 3, and CoD4 nonstop for the past few days and it's been running great.

I don't doubt RRoD is still an issue, I just know that Falcon keeps the GPU alot cooler than Zephyr. As I said, as soon as March ends, the frequency of RRoD will increase. We can only hope we're safe from Bill Gates' Tyrannical Xbox-opoly.

I bought 1000 points from the microsoft store just cause i say Puyo Puyo Fever available for download (in the JP marketplace) as an "xbox originals" game.

And then i get an error message saying that im not in the right location to download it...wtf...

My apologies to those who tried to hit me up on Rockband tonyte, one of my friends was playing, nd whenever we tried to get something going it started giving us problems with the guitar *someone already has this instrument blah blah blah*. I've arleady grown sick and tired of the foot petal setup. I'm hoping to mod my drum set sometime next week. Going to get some conduit, do some cutting and I'll extend the pipes they put in there out about a foot on the right, so that I can clamp it on out there instead of in the middle. The stupid cable they use ssucks too because it keeps making the foot pedal slide around as it tries to constrict.

Dammit Namco...give in and give XBox360 Tekken 6...please.

You might try that Conan game out, it's pretty sloppy but borrows just about everything from God Of War, but has more naked slave girls per level than any game in history. I can't say it's good, but worth playing for the "Oh Conan! Crush me with your love!!!" love scene. Priceless moment in gaming.

Crazy Ass Retarded Achievements !

I picked up Call of Juarez this past weekend at Circuit City for $8.
I had a blast with it online in deathmatch mode.

But some of those achievements are so ridiculously stupid!

E.g., one of them is to kill 4 people online with a single stick of dynamite.
The thing is, the dynamite won't kill someone with full heath. So we did some dumbass ass task where we had the victims partner up to shoot each other (to weaken), just so the 5th person can throw the dynamite.

It goes like this

Players 1-4 huddle up.
1 shoots 2
2 shoots 1
3 shoots 4
4 shoots 3
Player 5 throws dynamite. :rofl:

And if you wait too long, they start to heal on their own.
On top of that, there's also the possibility that 1-4 may end up killing each other by shooting.

It took forever. I can't imagine getting something like this in an actual match. Another achievement was to kill 3 guys with one shot. :looney:

I've only had my 360 for ~ 1 month, and very few games. This is my first online game.
Are online achievements usually this difficult to accomplish?

To clarify everything:
I have a Japanese Xbox 360.
I have a Japanese Xbox Live account made on said 360 (that i made while i lived in Japan)
Said account is billed to where i used to live in Japan, so it's an actual address with an actual zipcode and such.

In May, i moved back from Japan to Chicago. So as of right now, im in Chicago, IL, USA.

So i went to download the Japanese version of Puyo Puyo Fever because i have a Japanese system and it's a lot easier (and a lot less of a hassle) than importing it would be, and it's cheaper than buying the PSP or DS version (and having to import those, too!). But when i went to buy it, the download itself was blocked. There wouldn't have been any issue with it playing on my system because i have a Japanese system, the issue kinda lies in the fact that i'm not even allowed to download it in the first place. That's what sucks.

I don't know if american X-box originals will work on my system either. I'll assume no, but there's no X-box originals i would want anyways aside from Puyo.

2 is a tourney favorite. Timing windows are a little tighter, and there is a bunch of DL content you can get, too. Its pretty cheap, so I'd say its a good buy.

I am currently playing The Orange Box to see what the hoopla of Portal was about. Its bittersweet how the community has fell in love with the game IMO. Based off of my speculations I think there were probably plans to use the portal gun and portal-like puzzles in a future Half-Life and Portal was used as the teaser. Gamers have fell in love with the gameplay, but also with Glados, Companion Cube and cake jokes, so there almost has to be a Portal 2. Which isn't bad, but I would prefer them to just adopt the gameplay in some upcoming Half-Life and have Portal be one of those "Hey, remember..." kinda games.



In other news I realized that my problem with Bioshock was that I had the game's brightness setting too high:confused:. I had to darken that shit up, now it owns. I am probably going to finish the game sometime soon then start from the beginning during the summer game drought.

Sort of like Dragon Quest meets Chrono Trigger meets Grandia. It's from some the same key team as Chrono Trigger. Sakaguchi, Uematsu, & Toriyama (designs) I can't say a whole lot since I don't think I'm even halfway through it yet, but I'd say it's easily worth 30 dollars.

It's sad to see that the same AI is present in this game that was in cod2.

So i have respawning enemies...this means i just have to rush their spawn point to advance through the level. Not really fun.

Enemies don't need to seey ou to know where you are...so i have grenandes constantly being thown at me when i'm behind cover.

The graphics and set pieces are nice, i just wish the AI wasn't shit.

Once i'm bored with halo 3 i'll hop onto this for the multi, i can imagine it being very good.

Goodness, over the holiday break from work, went back north to visit family and friends. I think I played a total of 12 hours of Rock Band. Went to a party saturday night (with RB in my trunk); told my boy that was throwing the party I had it (my cousins LOVE the game) and we broke it out. The party was winding down before it came out....4-5 hours later people started to leave.

Then went to Unreals shin-dig, played with my wife and Unreal. Had his mom dukes on the mic singing Dead or Alive! I have to admit, I was hyped when she stepped up to the mic.

Then we to my families outing on Christmas. Went back to my mom's townhouse and brought 2 of my cousins and one of my cousins boyfriends. We played for 8.5 hours straight. From 9:30pm to 5:30am. I have to admit that went you play the game for a long time, your character go through "phases". LOL We went from street thugs, to preppy rockers to WTF?!?! LOL.

heh, this must be the quickest price drop for a 360 game. Didn't Beowulf just come out a few weeks ago at the regular 60 bucks? It's suddenly 20 bucks, and has apparently been at that price for quite awhile now(*a post on gamefaqs board saying it's 20 now dates back to around 12/10/07).

So far, I'd say it's *kinda* worth the 20 I spent. The rhythm segments are so damn annoying though....I'm starting to wish they weren't in the game at all. Sometimes you can be off with the timing, and other times there is NO margin for error at all...you have to be 100% absolutely Godlike perfect on the sequence or else you start over. At least the violence is nice.

...and already it's over for me. The system suddenly gave me the message "The game disc is dirty"(*it is perfectly spotless; no circular scratch or anything) right after I killed the Grendel monster. I won't be surprised if my system dies within the next few days. It sure would be nice if companies actually cared about hardware quality again.

I got a 360 about a month ago. Playing rockband the other night, I tripped on the millions of fucking wires needed to play a full band, and the xbox fell. I was stressed, but the thing was running fine after a reboot, saving and the like.

However, I noticed EVERY other save I had on the system was corrupted (Skate, Marvel Alliance, Orange Box). I deleted the save files and started over, but the fucking thing ended up messing up again even after a bit. But rock band kept working fine.

So I had to take it back to Target, and after a cross examination like I'm trying to rip them off (which I understand), they refund me the money on a target gift card and then tell me all the holiday bundles in all targets are sold out in the area. Long story short, I ended up with a Halo 3 Limited edition console for $50 more, which isn't so bad because I planned to buy a plug n charge kit anyway. Bleh.

Hello all, I need some help setting up my live account and logging in to play.

I was given the Arcade version for Christmas, which came with a 256 Memory unit. I was told that a Hard Drive is required to access Live and play. However, when looking through the manuals and reading up online, references say that either a Hard Drive or Xbox 360 memory unit is required to have Live access.

Can I still play online with my 256 Memory device, or is something larger (i.e. 512mb/20g) memory required to play? When I went through the process of setting up my Live Account, I got as far as logging in to Live, but a message came up saying that the Memory device was not detected. Could this be because I have insufficient memory installed? I would have assumed that a message referencing the memory would have popped up, so I am a little confused.

I know that Memory is needed to save game content, but I just want to be able to play at this point before upgrading to a Hard Drive.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

On first impressions, I thought Assassins Creed was amazing. I think the graphics and the settings were really impressive, and the gameplay was refreshingly unique. No, the rep will not be named, but this is pretty concrete. Speaking to a Konami rep at an undisclosed distribution meeting, I was told, after a lot of nagging, that yes indeed MGS was in development for the 360. The rep stated that Metal Gear Solid will be released for the Xbox 360 between 12 to 14 months after the PS3 version hits shelves. This is not a rumor.

I contacted Microsoft's own John Porcaro via email shortly after I spoke to the Konami rep to see if I could get anything from Microsoft's public relations team. Below is the response I received. Needless to say it's the most I've ever gotten out of MS PR team member.

I downloaded the demo of MS3 and was quite shocked to find white blood, in this day and age..don't get me wrong, I will still DL the full game when I get some MS points, but damn..hopefully SNKP will release a patch and give the option for red blood.

Anybody know any other means of streaming media to the xbox 360? I was using media player 11, but what happens is wmpnetwrk.exe takes up 99% of my cpu clock cycles and makes my system chug to a standstill. What makes it worse is that this happens even when I don't even have the xbox on. I end the process and it just comes back. Shit is ridiculous. It's a known issue too. I googled it and nobody has any suggestions but to get rid of media player 11. I want to do that but I don't want to give up streaming.

As re: finding files, you can manually do that usually by going to the Library options in the menus and setting your Monitored Folders. At that point it should scan. Get something to drink, or play solitaire until it completes if it's too CPU-intensive for you. =\

That's weird, I changed it back to English and everything when back to normal, but yeah, though, unlike you when I downloaded the thing I hadnt set the 360 in Japanese, I did that after I DL the game and got my red blood and then I changed it back to English and everything (including archievements) went to english and white blood of course...so everybody, just do the lenguage change after you DL the game (if you really need the red blood) and everything should be fine.

I've heard of people achievement boosting in Halo 3 in the third asian language and getting all the achievements, then deleting their account and then recovering it from Xbox live. Supposedly, this fixes the foreign language achievements.

I've got a few...
Elemental dmg is highly resisted by the tougher mobs - so teams heavy on that stuff can have a hard time at higher up levels.

Try and get a team of 5 or 6 early on and stick with it. turn off auto spending points.

Team buffs fucking rockout. My point character was Deadpool - he had a dmg boost for the team that had him two hitting most mobs once fully slotted *though I kinda stacked my Deadpool to the point he hit harder than Hulk, but thats another story*

You want to have at LEAST one 'controller'-esque toon...Venom is one of the best at this. He has a 'terrorize' shield he can where which scares away guys. Its not as strong as Ghost Rider's...so the mobs just stop attacking and run away a little bit...never across the room.

Have at least one guy with a good projectile shot...when you need to use a little strategy it comes in handy for wearing down tough bosses.

Having someone with a quick travel power helps speed things up. Venom is fast as SHIT on the webs.

Teir 1 specials use little endurance...some are more effective than others, but don't be afraid to use them as a combo ender. deadpools is GREAT on bosses...wolverines is really good, especially when beserked. Captain America so far has the most impressive to me.

My team was *in order of my use* - Deadpool/Hulk/Venom/Ghost Rider

Deadpool was my main dmg dealer. Hulk was my back up dmg dealer and default 'tank'. Venom was my 'contrller' and tank...most mitigating aggro with terrorize and beefing up himself defensively. Ghostrider was my 'reaching' character whenever I needed a lil strategy. He packed some real nice damage with his specials too.

Still trying to figure out my next team. I want to do a team centered around team dmg buffs to stack them. You should be able to achieve 200% dmg plus not including costume dmg...

I don't know why people are saying that the blood is censored. I bought Metal Slug 3 last night and the blood from the zombie attack isn't censored. It still shoots out red blood, not some sort of white cum. Graphics are nice imo, but then again I love almost any 2d sprites. I haven't tried any multiplayer with it yet though.

Always use Wolverine. You should have Iceman or Iron man for their powers/range. I usually throw Spiderman or Deadpool in there for fun melees.

Wolverine is good for killing bosses, not much else. At least not much that other characters don't do better. Your party needs a tank, a battery/buffer, and a damage dealer. Tweener characters can be substituted for a slot or two since much of the roster can fill different roles with their power trees.

Out of the available tanks, Hulk is pretty much the way to go. He can take damage and deal it as well with the proper skill point blueprint. Thing and Luke Cage aren't bad subs but Hulk is tops.

For buffers you are mainly looking at Deadpool, with Nick Fury being a distant second and Spidey or Cap being a third. Iron Man is the only quantifiable battery in the game, he is an excellent choice if your team's strength relies heavily on power usage. I ran him constantly the first two playthroughs myself but his boost isn't required to dominate.

Now, heavy hitters. This is the category where you'll probably find the most dissension, since there are a lot of people that fit this shoe well depending on builds, really it comes down to your individual taste. I'll just list a bunch and settle on whoever you like.

Thor - most consider him crowd control, but he deals immense damage with Deadpool and Iron Man combined with his own speed boost buff.
Mr. Fantastic - a no-brainer, his boost + basic fist power are almost game breaking.
Human Torch/Ghost Rider - both viable, both having the same damage capabilities near enough. I like them both, but GR is the one I run if I'm in charge of the roster.
Black Panther - a fuckton of damage capability, but all at very close range. Kinda the way Wolvie shoulda been.
Cyclops - his beam bounce power is insane at high levels, if he were more mobile I'd say he's a shoe-in for one of the god tier spots.
Sabretooth - mostly an overlooked choice, but with the berserker buff plus his lunging slash he can do frightening damage to mobs and bosses.

Hawkeye and Venom are also excellent choices to round out your 4th slot, Venom's crowd control is outstanding and Hawkeye is the only person I found that can glitch the game with his sheer speed + damage potential.

Wolverine is the most fun character to use, imo. That, combined with the fact that he's never once died (for me) makes him a valuable asset. Also, I don't feel like disarming shield-carrying enemies.

Did you get the Gold edition, or the original release? I haven't got the bonus characters. It's tempting, but I don't want to drop 800 points on them.

-Sucks in all the MUA strats- Cool i bought the characters and my team at the moment is DP/Wol/Thor/Spidey. Main guy is usually DP with spidey in a close second. Might have too tinker with the characters since i let them kinda rampage and they do well. Just got past the omega base part. Sucks thou i lost the codes for unlocking the characters so might make another save for those guys unlock and give some teams a try. Thanks for the info loving the game so far. Any suggestions on costumes set ups or does that matter with the team makeup?

"Microsoft sued over Xbox Live outage
Irate gamers demand over $5 million in damages following slate of reported problems over holidays.

Microsoft now faces a lawsuit over recent problems with its Xbox Live online gaming service. Three Texas residents filed a lawsuit Friday on behalf of themselves and others who have had trouble connecting to Xbox Live in recent weeks.

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Houston, claims Microsoft's outages represent a breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation for which the software maker is liable. The suit doesn't claim specific damages, but notes the amount is in excess of $5 million.

In the suit, the plaintiffs allege that Microsoft should have known strong holiday sales would tax its servers. "Microsoft knew the increase in subscriptions would increase game-play on its servers, yet failed to provide adequate access and service to Xbox Live and its subscribers," read the filing.

Microsoft has apologized for the outage and said it would allow Xbox live subscribers to download a free game. A Microsoft representative was not immediately available for comment. "
