so, a friend of mines knows someone who is gravely ill, and while i am not a very religious or spiritual person, i do believe that people caring does make a difference. if you can, i'd like everyone who reads this to really think about this guy, who you've never met named George, and i'd like you to think good thoughts for him and his family. i'm not asking anyone to write any letters, give any money, or go out of your way, but if you can repost this, i'd appreciate it. i've never met him, but he means the world to someone i really care about, and from what i've heard, he's a good person with an amazing family that is going through something most of us can't even imagine. so again, please pray, think good thoughts, whatever it is you do when you want someone to get better because every little bit helps. thanks to all of you out there for your support.

and for anyone out there who's going to tell me stuff like this doesn't work, save it. it's one of those situations where you should just keep your opinion to yourself.

Do you happen to know specifically what kind of cancer? and is he getting treatment from an M.D. ?

Most cancers (90+%) are treatable these days esp, if you catch it early (that's why regular check-ups are necessary).

i'm sure i sound like a broken record, but thanks to all the positive people here. believe me when i say that it is very much appreciated.

for a status report, george has been in the hospital for the past few days. he's been fighting this thing for a few months. he had the same condition previously a few years back but it went into remission, but that doesn't mean it was gone for good. he became ill again a few months ago and has been getting treatment. he actually had to move to boston for 2 months with his wife to get treatment and was forced to leave his daughter here in miami with his family. as of last night he was unconscious, but still breathing, so no one has given up yet. at this point, all you can do is hope for the best and pray he pulls through.
