Hi, I'm probably gonna be looking into buying a stick pretty soon, but before I do, I thought I should get some input on what it should be like, so I can play it to the best of my ability, and it can more comfortable to use.
I would basically only be using this for Guilty Gear, and not much else. So I would be looking for the best possible recommended stick and buttons to use for Guilty Gear. If possible, I'd also like to know the pros, cons, and likely price of the finished stick. Thanks =D

Take a look through the essential thread. Guilty Gear cabs usually use Sanwa JLF sticks with Sanwa OBSF buttons.

A price is hard since it varies from builder to builder, hit up the tradeing forum and there is a thread that links to alot of custom builders on this site. I think shoo put it together, not really sure about that though. You could probally get a good setup for 150 however.........

I guess I got another question. If I needed to test out the different Sanwa and Seimitsu sticks, any idea what arcade games use those sticks?

This might not be what you asked, but VF, GG, and Tekken all use Sanwa JLF, whereas 3S is most often Sanwa JLF or Seimitsu LS-32. I think some Neo Geo cabs have Seimitsu LS-40 (looser, longer total throw, shorter engage throw than LS-32 according to Kowal's chart). I wouldn't necessarily assume that those are better for SNK games though. Seems most logical that there's probably one stick a person will prefer for all games.

He asked a new question so that hasn't been addressed before, so I guess theres a chance it will be open longer. Yeah, I don't know about you guys but most of the arcades I've been to use Happ, so I can't really recommend anything. Plus I've never used a guilty gear cab before. I do know that alot of the Japanese arcades use the JLF, whereas SBO uses the Ls-32. Im guessing it;s gonna be more JLF though.

Alright then. Thanks for the replies. I got what I needed answered here. I guess I'll go take a look at some of the Tekken 5 sticks that are in some arcades, then. What I was wondering was if there were some arcades in the US that have cabinets that use a Sanwa or Seimitsu stick. If I remember correctly, I think Tekken 5 used one of them, but I only played it once, so I remember it too well. Gaijin answered my question though. Sorry for not noticing the stickies before =/
