Hi!

I'm pretty out of the loop when it comes to HD TV stuff. I've only ever owned CRT TVs. Recently the TV in my bedroom went to the great scrap-heap in the sky. I'm thinking that the after Christmas sales are as a good a time as any to step up to a small HD TV for my bedroom. I figure I'll go ahead and pick up an X360 to take advantage of it.

I know very little about TV brands, other that Samsung has acquired a pretty good reputation. I found this model on sale for $399.00. (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8251241&productCategoryId=abcat0101001&type=product&tab=7&id=1169512520871#productdetail) Is there something else I should be looking at in this price range?

I'd prefer to buy somewhere that has a local location, so I can easily return it if there are bad pixels.

I also was leaning towards the X360 elite for the bigger HD and the packaged HDMI cables. I've heard rumbling about some X360s having newer/better chips that are less likely to red ring of death. Is the elite hardware better? If not, is it worth waiting for the newer hardware?

Any advice that you could offer would be very much appreciated.

to be honest i would look for a cheep LG brand TV they are great
get the elite xbox360 its the best! i just got one with pgr4 its i love it. also with the elite you dont need to worry about HD space because it comes iwht a 120gb hard drive. im not sure if the elite has better hardware inside but it does have a bigger(looking) cooling gates

I have a polaroid in my livingroom and a vizio in the bedroom. Flip a coin cus they both look great with a 360 on them.

Hmm. I'm checking out some of the brands you two suggested. The LG in my price range didn't get that wonderful reviews; it's resolution is different from HD standard for some reason. Best Buy doesn't carry Vizio or Polaroid. I was hoping to get something at a place with a local storefront so I could easily return it if there are dead pixels.
