So can you play old Xbox games on the XBox 360? If so how?

I want to know because I want to just play all my old capcom fighting games on it. Specifically Capcom Classic Collections 1 & 2, Capcom VS Snk 2, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Anniversary, and Marvel VS Capcom 2. If the Xbox games do play on the Xbox 360 how do they run on it? Do the old Xbox games run on the 360 as smoothly as they do on the old XBox. Its not choppy?

How is gameplay when you play old Xbox games on the 360? Specifically for fighting games? My brother bought a XBox 360 so that he can play Virtua Fighter 5. He bought the Hori EX2 joystick for it. Does this joystick work well on those old Xbox games? Like there is no lag or anything.

Well hopefully someone who has played old Xbox Capcom Fighting games on the 360 can tell me these things. I did hear that you do need to buy a hard drive to play old Xbox games on the 360. I would buy the harddrive but I would buy it for only one reason and that is to play old Xbox Capcom fighting games on my 360. Is it worth it? Because I would love to play all those old fighting games on a Hori EX2 joystick.

1.) Yes, you can play xbox games on the xbox360. Look at this page for more info http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm

2.) The xbox games run well on the xbox360, and no they are not choppy. It is the same exact gameplay as it was on the xbox (Morrowind lagged on the xbox and lags on the xbox360).

3.) The stick works well with no problems, but some titles like the Street Fighter Anniversary for the xbox have issues on the 6 button sticks due to the fact that you are not able to map the keys. If I recall the issue with the game and any six button stick for the 360 is that there are problems with the triggers being mapped wrong. So, in this title you would only be able to use 4 buttons :(

4.) You do need an HD to play xbox games.

Hope I helped :wonder:

Not true. The problem is that SFAC doesn't allow you to remap the triggers separately; whatever the white and black buttons are programmed to do also dictate what the right and left triggers (respectively) do.

On Third Strike, if you super jump with certain characters it lags a little. Not sure about the other games though.
