CRT HDTV recommendations?

Well my old SD TV just pooped out on me... any recommendations? I'd like to play ps2/dc games as well as next gen. Is HDTV worth it atm?

I can't speak for every CRT HDTV. But the samsung slimfit series does have roughly 3 frames of lag. So if you're sensitive about lag then avoid this series.

isn't the max crts can do 480p which technically isn't HD?

I thought most hd sets have a "game mode" that you can toggle for non-hd game consoles to get rid of the lag. Why get CRT? You should totally go for LCD.

Crt tvs and computer monitors generally last longer cost less and are less likely to have dead pixels thats why he is probably getting a crt tv and i think crts can do 1080i but i might have to look into it more

i would check out LG tvs they are really nice and sometimes dirt cheep

Hmm if LCDs are fine now with "game mode", anyone have any suggestions?

Edit: I've been doing some research and apparently game-mode doesn't fix audio lag... are there any TVs that don't have this issue?

Alls I know is I tried to play VF4 EVO on a HD set with a standard composite AV cable and there was about 20-30 frames of lag, I switched that particular input to "game mode" and the lag was seemingly nill (maybe a frame or two, not sure.)

this is odd because on the compatibility site for the xploder hdtv player which enables 480p, 720p and 1080i on PS2 games says that guitar hero 2 works with it. And while the game starts up, after it asks about the memory card it stops working...

I found what gave me zero lag on the computer monitor and timed the inputs the same and came up with these results.
