Can you please explain what the DIMM RAM for the CPS3 does?

What's the difference between the CHR, PRG, and SND?

Are these used to replace the dead cartridges on CPS3 games like third strike?

If so which one should I get for Thrid Strike, Second Impact, and New Generation?

Where can you get DIMM RAMs? (Please don't say Fry's because Fry's got nothing)

Thank you.

No. DIMMs are where the data is installed.

CPS3, unlike 2 or 1, has a SCSI interface for a CD/DVDROM. When there's no data on the DIMMs, the system boots to the drive and loads data onto them.

The DIMMs for CPS3 are ... different. They're flash RAM instead of normal ram. so it's going to be hard to find them. I'd look for a complete 3rd strike set since that *should* have enough different types of RAM for every other game out there.

Can you burn/copy the third strike CD that comes with the whole CPS 3 system?

Yes, but you still need to protection cartridge that matches the disc (the part that suicides)

If I'm correct there is still no way to Phoenix CPS3 games am I right? Hope it's found soon because that would help bring a lot more 3s back into arcades.

not yet I'm afraid.

I wonder if anyone's even working on it. If I a CPS3 board I'd start working on it myself...
