Well I can get better quality by recording the TV-out of me vs shane matches. I'm also teaching shane a little bit of what I know. Once he relearns tekken, he'll be great. He was 2nd in AB for a little while in the TTT era. me and you can record some matches at WCC.

OK so last night was a pretty hype night for tekken. Dean came over to haseo's to challeng tokes green haseo and haseos older brother in tekken, we had planned to record it, but ronnies brothers computer was being a piece of shit, so that didnt happen.

Any how Dean held it down beating toke's christy with his eddy but not before losing his fair shar of matches to tokes.

there was alot of crazy matches going on but as the nigth wore down it was time for the serious matches to be played.

Haseo vs Dean. Winner Dean.

It started out with a constan stream of pokes juggles and counters and it came down to the wire with both 2-2 on each side. dean came in with an un expected jumping grab, taking down Asuka with his Dragunov,

Again down to the wire. but each match started out with dean gettig a vicious beat down. But dean was making insin come backs. Last match just as Tokes green is coming in for the win. Dean lungs across the room and tics tokes for the win.

Well this match went a hell of alot more diffrent than any of us thought it would. Andy took dean to piece's. It wasn't even close. Lei was on the rush down, taking down out 3-1.

Haseo wanted a secound shot at winning but was beasted again by Dean. So looks like a new champs in town.

oh, not that I know any thing about tekken or any thing, but you guys need to learn to wave dash and the korean side step. Just me thinking here. I might be crazy

Seeing as how we get almost a daily thread on this, I'm going to stick this on the very top of the forum, and I'm going to provide as much as I know on the subject (although I think DJ KOR would probably be the best since he's worked on it hard).

Most people tend to conclude that the input for E-step is just d/b, over and over again. This, while true, is a hard enough input every now and then. What you can do to make it somewhat simpler is qcd (from back) and qcu (from back). Always use the back inputs instead of the front ones because you get the random block factor.

For stick players, the input is kinda weird. Personally, for 1P down e-step I use my thumb to push the stick to b, then my index and middle fingers to pull it down. For 1P up, I use the thumb to push it back, then the midpoint between my middle finger to push it up.

2P side down, I just drag from b to d with my middle and index fingers. For 2P side upwards, I almost have to let go of the stick but I use the webbing in between my thumb and index finger to grip the stick and maneuver it.

For pad players, it's like repeatedly turning on a lighter.

Will put more on the subject later since I'm overexhausted.

DJ KOR says: sidewalking is situationally better. in certain situation like to get away from a wake up kick, sidewalking is better, or to get out of a move that has fF properies, sidewalking is better, but in general, sidestepping gets away from most other things.


Q: What is backdash canceling used for?
A: You can use it to space away from your opponent, creating more room. You can also use it to force more whiffs. The fact that you cancel one backdash to another makes it a much quicker movement option.

Q: How is it done?
A: back, back, down/back, back, down/back, back....

Essentially, the only full backdash that you have to do is the first one. Afterwards, the down/back input counts as the first input of your next backdash, allowing you to do it much faster.

Q: I'm getting caught while I backdash (getting hit). What am I doing wrong?
A: You could be doing one of two things wrong:

1) You spent way too much time during the down/back, back input, forcing your character to go into a small crouch (coincidentally, this crouch WILL block lows but will let mids hit you).

2) You're doing the d/b, b input really well, but you let go of the stick too early. Even when you just do ONE backdash, if you hold back during the entire duration of the backdash, it will still block. If you ever let it go, it will no longer be blocking. This applies to the initial backwards movement animation. So make sure that your transition from b, letting go of the stick, d/b, b is completely flawless.

Q: Why can't I do backdashes well with Paul, Nina and Bryan?
A: Their sways make it extremely hard to BDC consistently. What you can do in this occasion is "stair step" (coined by Neorussel), which just involves backdashing, doing a short sidestep, and backdashing again.

Q: When should I BDC?
A: Whenever you feel the other guy is too close to you. Whenever you want to create space. Actually, you can pretty much BDC all the time and you'll avoid a lot of mixups.

Q: Which characters have the better backdashes in the game?
A: The only one which I can confirm about having the best backdash in the game is Marduk. The rest that I am about to mention are just me assuming: Eddy, Law, Jack, Julia. Lei has ha-ha step but it's much more hard to do, although it IS by far the fastest backward movement

Wow, that's a really wild stick!

The higher joystick level is pretty crazy, and it'd be nice if you shared your thoughts on playing it once you get used to it. At first glance I would instinctively be apprehensive, but who knows.

I like how the start-select buttons are right there, but because of the vertical levels, they probably won't be an issue.

I think that attention to hardware, along with a slick artistic sensibility, equals a great stick. Throw that on top of that an innovative yet functional design, and you get a choice custom. Looks like you might have it... but that stick scares me :P

haha. I seen it in Trading Post and was surprised it was available still. Usually that stuff goes in a second.

At first it seems like it'd kill your wrists but it isnt actually bad. I was doing better electric's with it than my Hori3 on tekken. It felt good on MvC2 also. The start and select placement don't get in the way.
