I AM SO TIRED OF THESE TOP 40 CLUBS IN THE RICHMOND STREET AREA!!!

So tired of hearing these terrible hiphop mixes. Yesterday I went to Metro and I couldnt believe i was hearing shit like Fat Joe f Ashanti "whats love" and Sean Paul "Get Busy" in the hiphop room. Cmon motherfucker that shit was YEARS AGO. I realize that the type of hiphop I like isnt played in clubs so I wanna try and head out to some places that play diff types of house music or just anything except for top 40 shit. Any toronto clubheadz around? Im very open to all types of electronic music and just want a different scene. If you in the T.O. and into the alternative club scene PLEASE let me know whats up around the city.

This thread could also be used for anyone to discuss what kinds of clubs they are into, talk about the different spots around their city that are hot, and the general club experience in their areas.

The top 40 clubs suck all kinds of ass so normally I just chill at a bar. But I know there are a few good jazz clubs and some lounges aimed at a more adult listening audience. I just don't have the names.

Toronto has CiRCA nightclub run by Peter Gatien (used to own Tunnel and Limelight here in NYC, then he got deported and he opened up CiRCA), I don't know how good it is, but Tunnel and Limelight were the jump offs in NYC back in the day so maybe you should give that a shot..

Over here in the Big Apple there's a bunch of clubs, mostly really bad. The only clubs I would consider good are LOVE, and Pacha. I can ramble for days about how much I love Pacha even though it is a crowded ass venue even though it's like 5 floors huge, and LOVE is great because it has a room that's basically covered in fraggle skin. Yes, Fraggle as in Fraggle Rock. Not even joking.

Then there's stuff like the Sullivan Room, where we go just to get our dance on. Pacha is great because there's so much space meaning there's always different music in another space to get your jam on to..

Don't they have hash and pot houses where you can legally smoke in Canada?

someone needs to point me out to the good clubs in boston cuz their all the fucking same. i really just go to spots where my friends will be at....cuz the clubs themselves aren't unique. every dj plays the same set every week...top 40 shizzle. i know wut to expect i'm not expecting anything new..my standards have been set so low.

You can always try for clubs that play alternative and new rock like Republic and The Phoenix concert theatre. Then there's Velvet Underground for retro rock (Nirvana, Depeche Mode, etc.) and The Mod Club for British sounding music (at least on Thursday nights).

I always request Darude - Sandstorm to be played. YellowS4 has the right idea.

- CiRCA is fun. Lots of shit to look at if you don't feel like dancing/hitting on girls. Probably the best club in t.o atm.

- The drink/skybar are pretty good in the summer

- The socail club has good electronic artists commin down pretty frequently (just saw digitalism and chromeo there). It's small as fuck though, so i don't even know if it counts.

- Lot can be fun so long as you go with 30 or so people and just own the whole place. Once again though, it's small as fuck so i don't even know if it counts as a club.

In all honesty though, I generally only go to clubs downtown to catch shows. Most of the clubs are shit, so I stick to pubs and house parties.

The Breakfast Club @ Saturday Detention

If you hold your hand up in a cheesy fashion while wearing raggedy clothes, "Don't You Forget About Me" plays.

Don't feel bad homes. Clubs in Macon are wack like Chris Benoit's parenting skills. If T-Pain ain't in it somewhere, they won't play it. A lot of nice spots in Atlanta though.

I sure would like to go to the 40/40 in Vegas
